About Boxwalla’s Perfumer Box

The Box: Boxwalla Limited Edition Perfumer Box

The Cost: $84.95

The Products: Four perfume samples and one full-size bottle

How Does This Box Work?

A Perfume Box for the luxury loving perfume nerd.

Welcome to this TWO-PHASE scent experience with Sigil Scent.

Patrick Kelly, the founder of Sigil Scent creates beautiful natural perfumes using essential oils, absolutes, CO2 extracts and house-made tinctures in a base of certified organix sugarcane alcohol.

Each of you will have a different favorite from this mystical yet modern collection from Sigil Scent : maybe the effervescent, refreshing Solutio, the heady woody floral Anima Mundi, the grounding, resinous Amor Fati or the verdant, mossy Prima Materia.

Therefore the scent experience will happen in TWO phases: In the first Learning/Discovery phase you will receive all the four 2 ml spray samples, housed in a small Boxwalla box; In the second Full Bottle Experience phase, you will receive the full bottle of your choice.

After receiving the samples, you will have up to 4 weeks to decide which perfume you would like to receive a full bottle of, after you sniff & test at your leisure. Once you decide, e-mail us at [email protected] with the subject : Sigil Scent Choice and the glorious full bottle will be shipped to you.

Our Review

Boxwalla The Perfumer Box Review - Information Sheet 1 TopBoxwalla The Perfumer Box Review - Information Sheet 2 Top

Here is the info sheet for the box. All of the perfume choices are from the featured brand Sigil Scent. All perfumes from Sigil Scent are hand blended and inspired by the nature around us (and the nature that the founder of Sigil Scent experienced while backpacking).

Boxwalla The Perfumer Box Review - Solutio Front

Solutio, 2.5 mL – Estimated Value $10 (buy the full-size version for $120)

Solutio is described as being effervescent and refreshing thanks to the notes of Cypriol, labdanum, chaparral tincture, and cypress. This definitely had a zing to it, but rather than selling earthy (considering most of the scent notes are plants), this actually smelled exactly like black licorice to my nose.

Boxwalla The Perfumer Box Review - Anima Mundi Front

Anima Mundi, 2.5 mL – Estimated Value $10 (buy the full-size version for $120)

Anima Mundi is a balance of masculine animus and the feminine anima, and the main notes feature Immortelle (a curry plant), hinoki (a species of cypress), rose, and jasmine. I smell the feminine rose and jasmine, but there is a spicy herbaceous back note that comes from the cypress and Immortelle.

Boxwalla The Perfumer Box Review - Amor Fati Front

Amor Fati, 2.5 mL – Estimated Value $10 (buy the full-size version for $120)

The keynotes of this fragrance are Oud (a type of wood), galbanum (a gum resin from a Persian plant), palo santo, and opoponax (sweet myrrh). This scent honestly reminds me of an incense spice shop, and it was the most strongly scented of the bunch- two spritzes was too much.

Boxwalla The Perfumer Box Review - Prima Materia Front

Prima Materia, 2.5 mL – Estimated Value $10 (buy the full-size version for $120)

The keynotes of this perfume include vetiver, oakmoss, neroli, and white sage. This is a very earthy, unisex scent, and while the description says neroli provides a sweetness I wasn’t able to detect it.

Boxwalla The Perfumer Box Review - Anima Mundi 1 Box Front

After trying the four different scents and picking the one that suited my tastes best, I sent an email to Boxwalla letting them know that I wanted the Anima Mundi scent. After about a week, it arrived!

Anima Mundi, 1 oz – Retail Value $120

As you can see, the packaging and glass bottle is absolutely gorgeous. All of the perfumes were of such a high quality that one spritz was all I needed and the scent lasted all day, but the rose base of this one is what called me to it.

The Verdict: This was such a fun sensory experience. All of the perfumes are scents that I don’t normally find at places like Sephora or Ulta, and the quality of the perfumes is exceptional. If you like strong sweet or floral fragrances you probably should skip this box, but if you are looking for a new luxury perfume that features earthy, herbaceous, and unisex scents this could be a fun way to grab a full-size bottle at a discount.

This box costs $84.95 with free US shipping and I received four perfume vials with a total value of $40 and a full-size bottle with a value of $120, for a total value of $160.
