Succulent Studio April 2019 Box Review

Succulent Studios April 2019 info card

The plants ship inside a cleverly designed cardboard box, which is intended to hold them safely in place during their journey. Then, each individual plant is packaged in a little puff of hay, which is secured with several rubber bands to hold them in place. It looks like the packaging has been redesigned to be even more environmentally friendly! The new pot designs are also awesome because you can plant them directly into their new home, providing less shock to your little baby succulents.

Pink Iceplant

Of course, I love a pink plant! This cutie has the most delightfully pink stems and little tips! I absolutely love it. This plant also arrived in excellent condition, perky and lively. This is one of those plants that tend to spread out rather than grow tall, and if you treat them well they actually reward you with flowers.

Burgundy

Another healthy arrival! This little guy has beautiful deep red tipped leaves and a great lean shape. These leaves actually become redder in chilly climates. This is the sort of succulent that can grow pretty quickly, as long as you keep it happy. Be sure not to overwater!

Succulent Studios April 2019 burgundy toothpicks

Also included this month were a few tooothpicks to help bolster your little plants.

The Verdict: I am very pleased with the condition of both of these little plants and I love the pin and red colors chosen this month. I am always happy to add more unique color to my indoor plant collection. While small plants are pretty standard for this subscription, these are actually the largest I have ever gotten in this sub. I still think that you will probably get more for your $$$ by shopping locally, but if you don't have access to a shop with a decent succulent selection, this is a really fun subscription to treat yourself or your favorite green thumb.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes. According to their site:

Every month, [Succulent Studios picks] 2 plants to send to our subscribers. If you subscribe any time in that month, you will receive that month’s plants.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Do you have to buy your own cute pots to put them in? I can’t tell if they come in one or are prepped to be potted.

My roommate has this and just keeps forgetting to cancel. It’s really hit or miss with the quality and how long they survive. We do much better going to the local garden center.

I would love this sub. It’s only $10 plus ship. Can you share if your previous ones have lived?

I think I would keep them in the office.

Most of mine have lived, and are kicking it in my office window. The only issue I had was a few months ago when they arrived and had obviously gotten too cold in transit.
