Rescue Box March 2019 Review
This box is pretty reliably holiday-themed in months where there is a major holiday occurring, and that was true for March as well (it had Easter items this time).
Many months you’ll receive an information card with details about some of the items and the story of a rescued pet, although they’ve been moving away from providing much information about the items lately.
Cash and Coop Easter Basket Toy
I’ve never been able to find a Cash and Coop toy for sale online. I think this must be a brand started by or associated with Rescue Box. We receive items from them nearly every month now. They are usually pretty good quality. I think this toy is really clever, but I can’t let Nyx play with it. The eggs are far too small to safely give to her and I would worry about choking.
Donut Cookie
Unfortunately, here is another item I can’t give to Nyx. There was no label and so I have absolutely no idea what the ingredients are. She can have some cookie-type treats, usually the ones made with chickpea or buckwheat flour. It is lovely, though, and almost looks like something *I* would want to eat.
Cash and Coop Cake Toy
This is a plush toy with several different squeakers (there’s even a higher-pitched one in the little egg on top). Nyx was a fan. When she is able to play with these Cash and Coop toys, they are usually pretty sturdy. We still have this one after several play sessions.
Bone
I think this is the end of a beef femur but I could be wrong about that. This is another item that is not labeled at all, so I don’t know where it is from or how it was processed or anything of that nature. I don’t even feel like I can pass it along to another dog without that information. I would strongly encourage Rescue Box to provide complete labels including ingredients and country of origin for all edible/consumable items.
Cash and Coop Fuzzy Rabbit Toy
Alas, here is another toy I can’t give to Nyx. I’m pretty sure she could fit three or four of these into her mouth at once. This is really far too small for a box for large dogs. (I’ve checked the online account and I am indeed subscribed to the large dog version.) It does look well-made so I’ll probably pass it on to a neighbor with a smaller dog.
Here are some pictures of Nyx with the cake toy. This held up to rough play better than expected.
Verdict: I couldn’t calculate a total value for Rescue Box this month because I couldn’t find any of the items for sale online and/or they were just unbranded/unlabeled. I thought everything fit the Easter theme pretty well. However, this box was underwhelming for us, mostly because several of the toys were inappropriately-sized for a large dog and also because the treat and chew were not labeled in any way. (If they’d have been bigger, and Nyx could’ve played with them, I’d likely have a different opinion.)

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your first box might be a welcome box and might be received in April since it is so late in the month.
