Loved + Blessed “Perfection” April 2019 Review
Each box includes a theme card on the inside of the front lid of the box. This month’s theme is “Perfection.” So many of us strive for perfection yet we know that no one is perfect and that God has not called for us to be perfect. This month’s theme is all about letting go of the unrealistic expectation of perfectionism and drawing closer to God. This card describes the theme in detail and is intended to be a keepsake and serve as a visual reminder to uplift your spirit.
The information card describes the items in this month’s box and their intended purpose. It encourages you to read more on the Loved + Blessed blog and invites you to fellowship with Loved + Blessed in their private Facebook group. It also highlights the charitable cause supported this month.
Mini Poster – No One is Perfect That’s Why Pencils Have Erasers
This mini poster reads “No one is perfect that’s why pencils have erasers” on the front and “Beauty does not require perfection.” on the back. We all make mistakes. We have all sinned. But, God loves us and wants to erase our sins. It’s only God who can turn mistakes into masterpieces! Also, know that your imperfections are beautiful. Let go of the guilt and stress caused by unrealistic expectations.
Reminder Sticker –Real Not Perfect
Trying to mask yourself in perfection can be emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually exhausting. Strive to be your true and authentic self. Being real opens up and creates a safe space for others and encourages them to live their truth too. God does not require us to be perfect so why would we require it from ourselves and others? Be real, we’ve all had missteps.
At Loved + Blessed, reminders gifts are intended to serve as a reminder and reinforce the month’s topic. This month’s box includes a handmade pendant necklace with a glass medallion that reads “Perfectly Imperfect”. Wear it and be reminded that imperfection is a gift from God that inspires us to draw closer to Him.
Encouragement Kit – Encouragement Card
At Loved + Blessed, encouragement kits are meant to be shared to pass along encouragement to others and brighten their day. This month, a pop-up card is included in the box to write a note to a family member, friend or stranger and remind them of their perfect imperfection. The pop-up is a little odd, like a note inside of a note, but I think the card design is very nice and I’d be happy to receive this card from a friend. This was the same encouragement card included in the January and February boxes.
Scripture Card – Hebrews 10:14
Hebrews 10:14 is cited on this month’s scripture card.
“For by one sacrifice
He has made perfect forever
those who are being made holy”
This verse reminds us that we are perfect in the eyes of God when we are moving away from our sins and are moving closer and closer to Him. This is precisely why imperfection is a gift from God. In His eyes, we are made perfect as we become holy.
Monthly Blog Post and Workbook
Each box includes a card (not pictured) that contains the information and password for accessing the monthly blog and workbook. This members-only content includes access to a library of resources, special events, and private sales. The blog further delves into the month’s theme. The workbooks have been impressive. There is a lesson along with journaling prompts and activities for each week. I find a lot of value in this member exclusive content. It’s often my favorite part of the box.
In this month’s workbook, I’m loving all of the biblical references throughout the lessons. Week 1 focuses on identifying those areas in our life where we’re striving for perfection and week 2 focuses on perfection in terms of physical beauty. Week 3 focuses on the emotion wear and tear caused by perfection and week 4 talks about the beauty of our imperfections.
Private Facebook Group – Loved and Blessed Ladies
The private Facebook group offers a space to connect with other Loved + Blessed subscribers for fellowship and discussion. The Loved + Blessed founder Jamila often posts encouraging videos in the group which I enjoy.
The Verdict: I look forward to receiving this box each month to see what the Loved + Blessed team has in store for us! While I found last month’s theme refreshingly simple and an easy life lesson, this month’s theme was a harder lesson to comprehend and put in practice. Our society is plagued with perfectionism, it’s making us miserable, and increasing our risk of depression, anxiety, and even suicide. God loves us! We are fearfully and wonderfully made and unique. God does not require perfection so, why should we require it of ourselves and others? We stand perfect in His eyes by the simple act of drawing closer to him.
Loved + Blessed boxes are so well thought-out and inspirational. I love that the month’s theme is carried throughout all of the items in the box – even down to the color choices. I enjoyed this month’s lesson immensely and am inspired to let go of my unrealistic expectations of perfection and live my best authentic life. This box is only $19.99 and includes free shipping. It’s not an expensive box and it delivers a great deal of value to my life. I definitely think this box is worth the price.
