Now, on to the items!

Macys Beauty Box March 2019 peel gel Macys Beauty Box March 2019 peel get back info Macys Beauty Box March 2019 peel gel detail

Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel, 15 ml – Estimated Value $7.20 (Buy a full size 100 ml for $48.00)

I have tried a similar product before and I am not going to pretend to understand how these peeling gels work, but I will admit that they are delightfully gross. Kind of like the enjoyment you get from a nose patch! You apply this gel, leave it on for up to five minutes, and then rub it away. It turns into little pills of dirt and grime and really makes you doubt the power and effectiveness of your cleanser. I can’t quite decide if it actually lifts that much dead skin, or if the little pills are mostly formula. Either way, it is a fun product and leaves my skin even cleaner and more refreshed.

Macys Beauty Box March 2019 eye mask Macys Beauty Box March 2019 eye mask back

Skin Glow Hydra-Gel Eye Mask – Retail Value $5.00

I like little eye patch masks and these cute pink ones were no exception. They were in these cute little shooting heart patterns and left my undereye feeling super hydrated. They did not have much of a scent and the clear serum on the hot pink gel material left no stickiness after I removed them.

Macys Beauty Box March 2019 SKII essense Macys Beauty Box March 2019 SKII essence back

SK-II Facial Treatment Essense, 1 fl oz – Estimated Value $33.15 (Buy a full size 5.4 oz for $179.00)

I love essences, but they can be so expensive! This one is pricy, but I loved being able to try this pretty generous sample. This essence has a water texture and absorbed into my skin almost immediately. Essences like this are meant to be used on your face after you cleanse and tone, but before you moisturize. simply soak up a cotton ball or round and put and rub it into your skin. This is one of those products that you don’t really notice working until after a few days, but it absolutely adds brightness and helps even out your skin’s texture with continued use. It is also a great option for someone with oilier skin who needs to add a little moisture but shies away from lotions and creams.

Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Fairy Tail, 3 g – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $24.00

I love me some Stila! This fun formula goes on a little sheer, but it buildable to be quite dramatic. It dries down rather quickly, but you can certainly blend it easily if you are quick! This color is sort of a grey/brown base with purple and gold glitters. I actually don’t have anything quite like this, so I am excited to add it to my collection. When it dried it stays in place all day!

Macys Beauty Box March 2019 stila eyeshadow swatch

This one was hard to swatch! I applied with a very heavy hand to try and get more colors for this shot, but you can also wear it very sheer!

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, 0.12 oz  – Estimated Value $4.68 (Buy a full size 1 oz for $39.00)

This powder is so fine and smooth! It lays down on my skin effortlessly and locks my favorite makeup looks in place while giving my skin a nice velvet/matte finish. This little mini size is the perfect option for my weekend kit.

Macys Beauty Box March 2019 alien man perfume Macys Beauty Box March 2019 alien man perfume inaise

Mugler Men’s ALIEN MAN Eau de Toilette Spray, 0.04 oz – Estimated Value $1.60 (Buy a full size 1.7 fl oz for $68.00)

This scent is literally all of my favorite things! I know it is a men’s scent, but I wore it all week and got loads of compliments. It is a heady, heavy leather smell with spices, woods, and amber playfully making appearances. It smells like campfires and incense, and a night sky. Even though it is a toilette spray, it has amazing presence and staying power. This is one I will absolutely be purchasing for my personal collection.

Macys Beauty Box March 2019 alien perfume Macys Beauty Box March 2019 aline perfume inside

Mugler ALIEN Eau de Parfum Spray, 0.04 fl oz – Estimated Value $3.36 (Buy a full size 1 oz for $84.00)

Gosh, another winner. I already own Angel and Angel Muse from this same scent house, so this was not surprising. Mugler makes a super sexy perfume. Alien is going on my favorites list too, with its woody and floral notes. It is feminine but also very edgy, and just a little badass. It layers well with the Alien Man sample, which made for a really complex and unforgettable scent that lasted on my skin all day and into the next morning.

Verdict: This month’s Macy’s Beauty Box was really exciting. I loved the Galactic Muse theme and thought that the products fit it really well, especially the perfumes and the glittery liquid eyeshadow. As a skincare junkie I always appreciate luxury samples, and the essence this month was a great size for a sample The peeling gel is really gun, and of course, I enjoy eye masks. The setting powder is just a great thing to have on hand, and its travel size makes it an easy choice for your next weekend getaway. This box has an estimated value of $78.99 (not counting the makeup bag.) That is a great value for a $15 subscription, though admittedly the eyeshadow and the essence pull the majority of the weight.

I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

  1. I LOVE Alien for both Men and Women! Alien for men gets my husband so many compliments that I made him stop wearing it out! Alien pour femme gets me compliments as well and I just honestly love the way it smells!

  2. hello. ia have 2 coupons (march and april for purchasing) 10$ and 5$. can use them to purchase new box?

  3. FYI: I just used my coupon online and it also only took of $5. In a the online chat with Macy’s (via their live agent chat in Contact Us) I was told that the coupon was misprinted… going to try calling once the order has been processed, though, as it seems like other have been able to get the full $10 taken off.

Good to know that it does give the full discount in stores at least! Although whenever I go to use it in person the cashiers never know what to do with….

    • Tell them to ring it as a gift card. It’s taken a lot of times to figure out the secret. We have one person who knows what to do at my Macy’s.

  4. I just used my $10 off coupon and it only took $5 off. I sent Macy’s a message via Facebook Messenger and the customer service rep credited my order for the other $5 once I sent a picture of the front and back of my coupon as well as my email address and order number. This might help someone else who has their coupon shorted by $5 but the REAL reason I’m typing is this:

GUYS!!! My order shipped for FREE!!!! On the website under the beauty items it says “ships free with $0 purchase” and when you put a beauty item in your cart it says, “congrats you’ve earned free shipping” I only spent $24, so I definitely didn’t hit that $49 threshold. So this would be a perfect time to use those coupons (I’m assuming this isn’t a forever thing, but who knows, maybe beauty items ship free once again like last year.)

    • Thanks for posting this. I tried to use my coupon the other day and it also only took $5 off. I hate that they do this. Some people might not notice how much it took off or wouldn’t want to go back. I feel this is deceiving for Macy’s to do

  5. If you are using the SKII DO NOT PUT IT ON A COTTON PAD! it’s a total waste of an amazing product! Just take a few drops in your hand and press it all over your face. I finally broke down and got a bottle at costco when they had an awesome deal and noticed that i used twice as much when putting it on a pad than just putting it in my hands. It’s so expensive that I can’t waste a drop!

  6. I really liked the box and can’t wait to try the products. But still waiting for the box. Delivery has never been great but I feel like USPS has gone really crazy lately. My packages are either lost, or arrive with significant delays. This box was shipped on 26th Feb, UPS transferred it to my local USPS in a few days, and now it’s been sitting there for ten days. Tracking status says it’s accepted and nothing else. I’m really tired of contacting Macy’s and Sephora over this issue to ask for refund. UPS also lost my Sephora package last month and claimed that it was delivered to someone called Robin, the address was correct and I was home all day. I contacted them saying no one called Robin lives here, then they changed the story and claimed it couldn’t be delivered and returned back to Sephora.) Is anyone else experience these issues lately?

  7. Wow, solid box. I would love to purchase it, alas it’s too late! Love that glitter and glow shade.

    • Tanya if you’re still interested in getting this box, and plan on making any beauty purchases on Macy’s, they have past boxes (including this March box) for $10 with a $40 beauty purchase. It’s such a great deal I’ve already ordered 2. I have no self control, and now I have 3 of them, which includes the one I got in March.

  8. Such a shame that you cant get the box the month it comes out. I chatted with Macy’s CS and yep, they confirmed you would get April if you subscribe now.

  9. When I first saw the spoilers I bought what a cheap box, as the SKII is usually tiny. But the 1 oz size wow, that changed my mind along with the full size Stila eye color so now I’m impressed. And the $10 coupon is always great. Estee Lauder has a gwp this month so it’s a great time to use it for $10 off and get more for ypur money. I am wanting to back off on boxes but then I cant decide which because they end up being great like this Macys, the look Fantastic as well. My Sephora box is on chopping block waiting for the axe to fall. But then I get fomo.

As for the serum, I dont like wastng it on the cotton pad with so a few drop in clean hands then pat on face for max hydration.

    Great job this month Macys.

    • Great tip in the Estee Lauder GWP! Thanks Lola!

  10. Can I get this bag in store, cos it’s too late to order online for this March bag

  11. Awesome box. If I wasn’t dealing with product overload, I would so get this.

  12. My bag, and the bags of
Many friends, did not look like that one. It was hideous and looked like the used cover of a Jiffy Pop tin. Very disappointed in Macy’s.

    • I thought the holographic bag was really fun and unusual, but it probably isn’t everyone’s fave. Fit the theme perfect though!

  13. Wow, I never got a Macy’s bag this good! Definitely looking into a resub…

    • the full size product they have been including recently in each box really makes it worth it!

  14. This is the first time a Macy’s bag has really blown my socks off. Great curation! I wish I had one, lol.

  15. Please post my comment.

    • A lot of my comments never get posted, either. I’m not sure why it happens so often with some of us???

      • Haha. But of course, that comment got posted in seconds! lol

  16. This was my first bag after not having been subscribed in almost a year, and I was so happy with it! The bag itself was so fun. I have no idea what I’d use it for, but I just can’t make myself give it away!

I’ve used peeling gels like the PTR one before (both the kind that you let sit for a few minutes then rub off, and the kind where you just continue to massage it on the skin until it pills up), and I used to wonder if these were gimmicky, but in my experience, they really work! My jaw line is my problem area, and that’s where products like these would pill the most even though I applied the same amount of product everywhere on my face. And I knew it was dead skin because it wouldn’t rinse off completely, so I’d have to wipe the remaining peel off with a wet washcloth.

I’m looking forward to trying the essence sample. I’ve used a couple smaller samples of that essence, and I’m a bit bummed that I thought it didn’t do much for my skin, so I’m looking forward to trying a larger sample for a longer period of time. But since it’s so expensive, I refuse to use it with a cotton pad… I’m not wasting any of this product! (lol!), so I usually pour a few drops into my hand then applied it to my face.

The Alien perfume I need to get used to. It was a bit sharp for me. I think if I applied this with a light hand (maybe just one spritz to the wrist instead of my normal two) it could be okay.

    • Glad to read your experience with the peely products Luna! I am sometimes super skeptical. The essence makes me feel so fancy!

  17. I loved the March bag! Macy’s has been consistently good since I started this subscription. Definitely one of my favorite boxes each month. 🙂

  18. Can we address why the coupon says $10 off a beauty purchase, but when you go to use it only $5 of taken off?

    • Just in case it helps you…It took $10 off for me in the store.

    • I complained on their Facebook page and they adjusted it to $10 off once my order shipped.

  19. I would have loved this box. If Allure keeps doing dodgy stuff, I might switch to this.

  20. Was there $5 or $10 in this months box, my card was missing

    • There was a $10 coupon this month.

  21. On the page you link to it says you’ll be subscribing today for *April’s* box.

    • Thanks for letting us know. Sorry about that mistake. Post has been updated!

  22. The eye mask says micro Beauty Blender for the name but links to the correct product. It doesn’t appear to be sold out though.

    • Oops! Sorry about that. Just updated the text. Thank you!

  23. If anyone decides they want to sell their whole bag, I would love to purchase it. I missed out on this month’s because of a payment issue.

    • When my got lost in the mail I purchased it from Ebay

      • Hi! How much did you pay for it?

        • Mine was $9.99 + shipping

  24. This sub is getting really good but I’m scared over the cancellation issues I’ve seen.

    • I haven’t seen or expierenced the issues. I will say, when I subscribed for awhile, I had zero complication in cancelling if that helps. I loved it, just overloaded on small samples.

      • Same. I loved this sub but was on product overload. Had no problem canceling.
