OFRA Perfecting Beauty Mystery Bag February 2019 Review
This box didn’t come with an info sheet, but all of the goodies did come packed inside this cute pink bag!
Perfecting Beauty Bag in Pink – Retail Value $15
Do I think the retail value on this bag is a little nuts? For sure, but I am happy to get it in a mystery box at a discount! It is an impressive size and the interior should be easy to wipe clean if any makeup or skincare spills inside.
OFRA Get Chilled Out Eye Mask
We also received this eye mask that has beads that can be heated in the microwave for a few seconds or stuck in the fridge to cool. The side of the mask that rests against your skin is velvet, and it fit my face well. Masks like these are a godsend when I am dealing with a migraine or just need help to relax after a long day, and I am happy to officially now own a second one!
Post-It Pink Heart Sticky Notes
To round out the Valentine’s day goodies this box promised, we got some pink heart sticky notes. They are Post-It brand, though!
This is a makeup setting mist that has great skincare ingredients like aloe vera juice, Vitamin E, and chamomile. You can use this to set your makeup, to dampen your brush before going in with highlighter to really add some extra shine, or as just a pick me up for your skin. The small size means this could fit in my purse makeup bag with ease, too.
I genuinely can never have too many makeup wipes, and these did a pretty good job at taking off my matte liquid lipstick swatches! These are made with 100% cotton and aloe vera, and they should be able to take off all of your lipstick with one wipe.
Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Mina, Full-Size! Retail Value $20
Ofra is known for their liquid lipsticks and their highlighters, so I think it’s fitting that that is what came in our mystery boxes! Mina is described as a vampy berry, which I think is dead on. It actually is a bit too vampy for me, but I have a friend who absolutely adores shades like this one and will be happy to put it to good use.
Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Tuscany, 2 g – Estimated Value $5 (buy the full-size version for $20)
Tuscany is a muted mauve red, and this is about the darkest I like to go in terms of lip color. I love how easy it is to throw this mini shade in my purse, but with their liquid lipstick formula, not many touch-ups are necessary. I wore this before going out on a Saturday night, and my lips looked perfect until midnight. After midnight it did start to fade pretty quickly, but it faded really well (no dreaded clown lips where there’s a dark line on the edges and nothing in the middle). This was comfortable, too! I prepped my lips with a thick lip balm before blotting it away and applying this, and I didn’t notice any dryness.
Ofra Highlighter in All of The Lights, Full-Size! Retail Value $35
This highlighter combines some of Ofra’s best shades in one compact (Rodeo, Pillow Talk, Star Island, and Blissful), and I love that I can customize the shade depending on which area of the pan I dip my brush into. This highlighter blends super easily and a little bit goes a long way, but you can also easily amp up the glam by applying it with a damp brush. I use this fan brush, and it is perfect for adding the exact pop of color I want in the place I want.
Here are the swatches! I tried to show two different swipes of the highlighter to show the dimension it offers. The first swipe is a bit hard to see against my fair skin, while the other one is definitely more golden. After the two highlighter swipes, we have Tuscany on top and Mina on the bottom.
Here I am wearing Tuscany on my lips and All of the Lights on my cheekbones, temple, under my brow, and my nose and cupids bow.
The Verdict: When I ordered this mystery box I wasn’t expecting to get an eye mask and post its, but overall I think this was a good box. I really appreciate that all of the makeup items come in OFRA‘s new packaging, which is definitely more high-quality than previous OFRA packaging. Value-wise, OFRA promised value of at least $85, and by my math, they met that with a total value of $90.
To Wrap Up:
Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, this is no longer available.
Value Breakdown: This box costs $35 + $3.50 shipping and I calculated a total value of $90 (not including the eye mask or post-its). That means you are paying approximately the following per item:
- Makeup Bag: $6.42
- Makeup Mist: $3.42
- Makeup Wipes: $2.99
- Highlighter: $14.97
- Mina: $8.55
- Tuscany: $2.14
