We can safely assume the conditioner is in the box as well. Hopefully it isnt wasted as a spoiler.

well no amber…if the conditioner is going to be there they will announce it as a spoiler…otherwise they do not send conditioner with a shampoo…that’s the way they do it..

Really like the first two spoilers. The shampoo isn’t the best spoiler or me personally, but it’s OK and I can always gift it. I’m guessing their might be a conditioner to match. Can’t wait to see all the spoilers. 🙂

The size and packaging of the shampoo make it nice for travel. It’s a great box for me.

I always like BeautyFIX, and this box is no exception. Agree about the eye cream-this brand is meh.

I’m going to have to agree with the other replies. FAB is awesome. Their Ultra Repair Cream is the best moisturizer I have ever used. It works great for my face and body. I was getting super dry over the winter and this has saved me. Their cream cleanser is great as well. I have had zero breakouts since I started using their products. When I ran out of the cleaner I switched back to something else I had sitting around and since then my chin has been covered in zits.
I’m tempted to sign up for this box purely for the FAB eye cream.

FAB is one of my skin rescue brands. I love it.

This brand literally saved my skin. It’s a godsend for people with sensitive skin that reacts to everything. I was having reactions to all my beauty products until I started using FA ultra repair line and The Ordinary. I will forever love them 🙂

This brand has the best (or at least by far one of the best) moisturizers for oily skin, based on everything from their line that I have personally tried (the Skin Rescue Oil-Free Mattifying Gel Moisturizer), that I keep rebuying btw, so I would give them the benefit of the doubt.
Honestly I often don’t find Sephora reviews to be very reliable. Well, more reliable with makeup in my experience than with skincare.

I cancelled after the January box. I really like this box so far. Do I just reactivate my subscription on March 1st to get this box? I was always billed on the first day of the month. I just want to make sure I do get the March box and do NOT get the February box.

michelle
Their CS rep told me to wait until march 1st to sign up.

Jennifer
Yes, wait until March. They sometimes don’t have subscriptions open or the first couple of days of a month so I generally sign up on the 3rd or 4th of a month i I want the box.

Check the Dermstore and see if the Feb box is sold out yet. In my experience the monthly box usually sells out, then you will receive the next months box. I have cancelled and restarted multiple times.

Awesome! Thank you so much!

The box seems interesting and I was looking for a good vit c serum, but then looking at the ingredient list, this serum seems iffy. The ascorbyl compounds are quite at the bottom of the list, so not that high of a percentage and phenoxyethanol is listed before the vit c!! Mind you, phenoxyethanol is only approved up to 1% in cosmetics. And PVP (the glue from stamps) is one of the top ingredients. So what the heck? Am I missing something or is that just a terrible serum.
We really don’t know if they change the formula outside of the UK so we don’t know if it’s more of less than 1% in the US, so I think your comment is spot on. Since your concern was the amount of other active ingredients and not the toxicity of the P, not sure what the other comments are about, I think there might be a drug company employee among us?

Hehe, right?? Thanks for sharing the link, that was a very interesting read!
Also, Skin Inc is a japanese company, so if they re-formulate it specifically for the US is not clear.

Tnanks Nina, I appreciate the comment. I’m also a skincare junkie. I already knew that the ingredients are listed in descending order of concentration. But I didn’t know about the 1% thing, so that will help me. I had already noticed that the vitamin C was just derivatives, MAP and tetraisopalmitate. These 2 ingredients plus the licorice root should help with brightening tone and spots. But, this serum won’t do anything to increase collagen production or reduce lines for antiaging. Which is what I want in a vitamin C serum. The worst thing about this serum is the price. Even if someone was looking for only a brightening serum, there are much stronger and cheaper ones out there. It is a 10 ml bottle, which makes it $105/oz. You can get MAP in 10% and tetraisopalmitate in 20% from The Ordinary. Or for even better brightening, if you’re OK with hydroquinone, you can get Alpha Skincare for 9.80/oz from Dermstore. Same ingredient in prescription lighters. (And yes, I do know hydroquinone is banned in Europe, but the ban wasn’t evidence based which is why it is still available over the counter here.) Anyway, my point was Look for better Vit C serums, there are lots of inexpensive dupes out there for Skinceutical CEF

I totally agree with you! I think for that price I would expect more. I guess the price is not so much of an issue when you get it in a beauty box, but I like to use subscription boxes to sample things and figure out if it is something I would buy again. This one seems already a no upfront, but at least they have some other interesting products in there.

I replied to Nina earlier about the phenoxyethanol, but the MSA gods apparently don’t care for scientific accuracy. Oh well. In short, you have nothing to worry about unless you decide to eat the phenoxyethanol.

Nina
I don’t really worry too much about the phenoxyethanol, just that there is probably not that much vitamin c in it.

Phenoxyethanol kills bacteria effectively. Qualifying your statement: Its concentration limit at 1% in cosmetics is only IN THE E.U. AND JAPAN. It is approved for more in the United States. The toxicity comes from ingestion. So don’t eat it. Problem solved.

I love this brands coconut primer for winter. It really hydrates my combo skin and leaves my makeup looking great at the end of the day. I’m happy to be getting another product to try.

Where are you seeing this? As already mentioned, it has a “best product” rating on Beautypedia, and the user reviews on Ulta and Sephora are mostly positive as well.
Besides, I wouldn’t judge the efficacy of a skincare product by how well it goes under makeup.
Reply
Suzanne
I’m not judging the efficacy of it, I’m judging how usable it is for me. If it doesn’t work under concealer, then it’s not usable for me. I read the reviews on Dermstore and the comments about how it pills under makeup are enough to make me not want to try it (the negative reviews on Sephora say the same). I’ve had this issue with several eye creams I’ve tried, so it’s something that I look for. I already have a night eye cream I like, so I wouldn’t have a use for this if it doesn’t work for day use.

It has 5 stars on Beautypedia.

I know some people swear by this brand but I’ve never been impressed with ANY of their products. However I’m always happpy to give a new eye cream a shot. If it does even half of what it claims it’ll be a win for me.

I agree with Courtney! I like a lighter eye product for day, plus this has 4 stars on Sephora. I trust the reviews because it’s not a Sunday Riley product.

I love the first two spoilers but I’m in the fence with the third. Although, It would be nice to try a different color safe shampoo bc I used a hair mask and it stripped my toner right out of my balayage. Just had it done too.

A shampoo is always useful, although I’d caution BeautyFix not to try becoming the shampoo-obsessed Birchbox. The two full-size items more than pay for the $25 box. I’m good with it. Everything after these two awesome products is gravy!

HA! That’s exactly why I canceled birchbox!

Yeah I’ll take the shampoo as gravy. I have color treated hair and i love trying the expensive shampoos! This is a win!
