The Mr. Collection is a monthly clothing rental subscription for men. Your stylist puts a pack together based on your style profile and you keep it for as long as you like. When you are done wearing those pieces you send them back in the included pre-paid envelope. You have the option of buying any item at a special member discount price just in case you can’t bear to part with it.
The Mr. Collection has several different plans to best fit your needs. They also have The Ms. Collection for women.
This is the review for The Mr. Collection Premium Once a Month plan, which sends 4 items for $69 per month (plus free shipping).
Each pack includes 3-4 pieces of quality, designer, casual clothing for your everyday look. When you sign up, you answer questions about your style (size, colors, patterns, clothing type, etc.). An actual stylist puts your pack together so, even though your pieces are a surprise, they should work for you. You can leave feedback for your stylist to help make your next pack even better.

The Cost:
- Standard Once a Month - Three items in each pack - $59/mo

- Standard Unlimited - Three items in each pack - $79/mo
- Premium Unlimited - Four items in each pack - $89/mo
The Products: 3-4 styled pieces per pack, depending on the membership plan you are subscribed to. Members can choose the pack speed they would like, whether that be a once a month plan, or unlimited. Members typically enjoy 2-3 packs per month under the unlimited membership plans.
Good to know: You can purchase any of the pieces you want for a special member price. Just keep what you want and you will be billed for the item when your pack return is processed.

The Mr. Collection December 2018 Review
This month, John's stylist included 3 shirts and a cardigan for layering. Let's see what he got!
The info card includes a handwritten note from Emma, John's stylist this month, and some information about how the subscription works. There is also an invoice that shows the member price for each item in case he wanted to purchase anything.
Jachs Burgundy Jaspe Striped Raglan Crewneck, L - Retail Price $69, Member Price $62.10
The first shirt John wore was this long sleeve tee made of a cotton/poly blend. I think it fits really well and John likes the soft, medium weight fabric. He did say he looks too young in it so I don't think the stripes are his favorite.
Original Penguin Heritage Slim Fit Plaid Flannel in Green, L - Retail Price $89, Member Price $71.20
Now, this shirt looked really great on John. I like the cool-tone, forest green plaid and the waffle-like texture of the weave (not fuzzy). It's still very thick and warm though and look good with the sleeves rolled up or down.
Ben Sherman Long Sleeve Polka Dot Print Shirt in Blue, L - Retail Price $79, Member Price $63.20
This shirt is sharp! The dusty blue shade looks good with John's skin tone and the polka dots are subtle but fun. There are buttons on the back of the collar and on the points which keep it looking neat. I'm impressed with the details like the branded buttons and pocket tag, the pleat down the back, and the extra buttons are sewn onto the tag. Those small things always make a shirt feel more high-end.
Original Penguin Shawl Collar Cardigan in Dark Sapphire, L - Retail Price $125, Member Price $100
I'm not sure John has ever worn a cardigan, but I think he should after seeing him in this one. It pairs perfectly with the Ben Sherman top and gives him a Giles vibe. The cardigan is a mix of cotton and polyester chunky thread with all different flecks of blues and greys woven in. This is a perfect way for John to casually wear his collared shirts in chilly weather.
About Returns:
Each pack includes a pre-paid return envelope. When you are done with your pieces, just pop them in here and drop it off at the post office. The Mr. Collection will process your return and you’ll be ready to go for your next pack. (If you are purchasing anything, just leave them out of your return package.)
A note about cleaning: You don’t have to clean the pieces before sending them back. The Mr. Collection has everything cleaned once the pieces are returned. I didn’t notice any smell (including fragranced detergent which is good for those with sensitive skin), stains, or signs of wear. Actually, everything was in pristine condition!
The Verdict: John's stylist did a great job picking items for his pack this month. He had several different looks to wear to our various holiday functions and felt stylin' in all of them. The colors, prints, and fabrics were all fantastic and John got to try something new, a cardigan. I really like that he gets to experience good quality clothing – the way they fit and feel makes a huge difference. He enjoys having styles he likes show up every month without having to go shopping. This pack had a retail value of $362, and for a cost of $69 with free shipping, I think it is a great deal. Plus, The Mr. Collection customer service is fantastic! The stylists are eager to help and I encourage any subscriber to reach out if you have any questions.

Value Breakdown: Since this is a clothing rental service, the value really comes from being able to change up and try new, styled looks every month. Since there is no way John would spend this amount to buy clothes at this retail value for himself, it’s great for him to be able to wear high-end clothing for a flat rate.
