Vinyl Moon Volume 38 Review

Volume 38 of Vinyl Moon was entitled “Sticky Fruit”!

In addition to our record, we got this little Vinyl Moon promo card a few days later:

This was just so cool. It’s just a little greeting card hinting at new and exciting things for 2019. but flip it over…

Pop this onto your turntable to listen to the spacecraft launch message from J.F.K. – it’s very cool.

You’ll get this LP-sized information booklet. It’ll give you details about each artist and song you’re about to listen to – and gives you information about the graphic artist for the packaging. This is a nice little companion piece when starting your vinyl mixtape journey.

Even better – you’ll now be emailed a digital copy of the mixtape to take on-the-go – this will arrive about a week or so after you receive your record.

This month’s artwork is beautiful – hand painted fruit and flowers, the detail is pretty stunning close up.

It arrives with this piece of extra art work, too.

How cool is this work?

VIP members received an exclusive color pressing this month – it’s a nice green, marble, translucent pressing – very watermelon-y to stay on theme.

Once again, I was a fan of the mixtape, too – it’s always nice to sit back and spin some new tracks and this month delivered another 10 tracks to enjoy.

Verdict: It’s a bit odd that I get more excited for the theme, artwork, and pressing from this subscription than anything else – the music seems to be a bonus for me – which I never thought would be the case. Even so, again, they delivered on another good 10-track record. With all of the hints about 2019, I’m excited to see where they go, but also hope they don’t lose what they’ve been doing so well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Orders placed after the 15th of a month will be shipped in the following month’s box.
