Unique Vintage November 2018 Review

You never quite know what you’re going to get with this subscription. It could be a party dress or one that you could wear to work. Let’s see what I got this month:

Unique Vintage November 2018 Review - Burgundy Red Stretch Sleeved Anna Wrap Dress front

Unique Vintage 1950s Style Burgundy Red Stretch Sleeved Anna Wrap Dress – Retail Value $98

This is a very similar color as last month’s dress (not quite the same if you put them next to each other, but close), but it’s a good color for me, so I won’t complain! This is a true wrap dress; one side of the sash goes through a hole in the side of the dress and you tie it in back. Last time Unique Vintage sent a wrap dress, I bought a neutral-colored slip so I was ready for this. I have that fear that I’ve seen others express here at MSA, that a wrap dress could come open, although to be fair, this one seemed really secure once tied. Since it is a wrap dress with a bit of stretch, my waist-size issues (my waist is a Unique Vintage M but my hips and bust are a Unique Vintage XS, so I buy S and hope for the best) were nonexistent. There is quite a bit of flare to the skirt.

Unique Vintage November 2018 Review - Burgundy Red Stretch Sleeved Anna Wrap Dress Back

Here is a view of the back. This did wrinkle a lot in shipping but it steamed out pretty easily (you are generally not supposed to iron Unique Vintage dresses). This one is suitable for me to wear to work, or it could be dressed up with accessories for a nicer occasion. It’s a bit of a low neckline for me, so I would definitely stick with the slip underneath. I think a black slip would also work, with black tights.

Verdict: The dress I received has a retail price of $98, which is a good value for this subscription at $41 over the cost of the dress plus shipping. The style is also cute and a good seasonal office wear item for me (some companies may have different rules, but this is absolutely fine for my job). I love the color, and since it is a wrap dress, the fit is excellent as well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, all boxes ship out at the same time of the month so it’s too late to get the November shipment. However, if you like the dress, you can order it from the link above. (Sign up for their email list; they have coupons and sales every now and then.)

Value Breakdown: This subscription costs $57 if you include shipping and you get one dress. Tax may also be charged now but that will vary by location.

  1. Wow! Good look!

  2. Looks beautiful on you!

  3. Not if she also wore black shoes

  4. Not black tights! That would ruin the look. Always skin-tone.

    • Not if she also wore black shoes

    • I like colored tights a lot better. They can be made thicker and so they are warm in winter. I have black, navy, gray, red, and I used to have zebra print but those got a hole. =(

    • I don’t agree with “always skin tone”…I feel this is very old school.
Colored tights would be great if they’re the right color, but I would do a patterned tight and keep the shoes the same personally.
