They offered a limited edition Black Friday mystery box, and you could choose between three different skin types. This is a review of the Soothing Glow Mystery Box.

Primary Raw DoYou Azulene Gel Cream, 3.5 oz – Retail Value $46
I LOVE luxurious moisturizers and I love skincare products with good texture, and this fits the bill perfectly. This is a perfect moisturizer for those with sensitive skin because it is immediately cooling upon application (and the included plastic ball applicator adds to the cooling effects, too). This is actually waterless, and it has vitamin capsules inside that are designed to burst upon application to soothe and hydrate your skin without being too heavy. Ingredients include azulene (which is actually chamomile extract) and bamboo sap, both of which are known for having anti-oxidants and being a great skin-soother. My only complaint is that this does leave your skin a bit sticky to touch- I solve that by following with my Herbivore lapis oil at night or with sunscreen in the morning, depending on the time of day I applied it.
Make P:rem Safe Relief Cleansing Foam, 5.29 oz – Retail Value $20
My first introduction to Make P:rem was actually through a Target Beauty Box, but it feels like I have been seeing it everywhere lately. It has a light, whipped texture (as foamy as it could be without being dispensed from a pump), and it is incredibly gentle on my skin. This has hydrating glycerin as well as lavender, sage, and coconut extracts. This has quickly replaced other cleansers in my routine and has been the one I am reaching for consistently.
Make P:rem Soothing Layering Double Mask – Retail Value $7
I think it is a bit of a cop-out to promise to send three full-size items and have one of them be a sheet mask, but at least this is a fancy sheet mask. It is actually two masks that you wear on top of one another, and each mask actually has ear loops to make sure you’re covering your entire face. The first layer of the mask is made with Centella Asiatica extract, which is a holy grail skincare ingredient for my skin (you may recognize it as the star ingredient in the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass line). The moisturizing layer has both glacier water and hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate your skin. I actually really loved this sheet mask, and I think it is definitely better than your regular old sheet mask.
Leegeehaam Tea Tree 95 Essence, 2 samples
These were the free samples that were included with my order, but I like that they made sure to include a soothing sample with my soothing mystery box! This is 95% tea tree oil and it is great for calming redness and it’s anti-inflammatory abilities.
The Verdict: I love the products that Glow Recipe creates, and it turns out I love the products they offer from other brands, too. Every single item in this box really nailed being a soothing product for my skin, and I am in love with how beautiful my new moisturizer is. I think it is a bit of a cop-out that the third full-size item was a sheet mask, but at least it was a fancy double layered sheet mask filled with ingredients my skin loved. Value-wise, this value totals exactly $73, which is what was promised. I hope Glow Recipe offers these mystery boxes again next year!
