Crescent City Swoon Subscription Box November 2018 Review
This box does not come with an info sheet, but we did get a business card with more information about Crescent City Swoon. We also got a candy cane - yay!
All-Natural Lip Balm, 4 pack – Retail Value $11.95 (currently sold out)
These lip balms come in 4 fun flavors: Coconut Pear, Caramel, Honey, and Blueberry. It feels so fancy to have received four, and I kept the coconut pear one for myself and have been spreading the lip balm love with my friends. I recommend keeping these in your pocket for a few minutes to warm them up before applying - they’re a bit stiff to apply cold. These hydrated my lips well and I am happy that they are free of things like phthalates, parabens, and GMO’s.
Pumpkin Drizzle Bath Bomb
WOW, this is a big bomb. Here it is held up to my face for reference:
It smells deliciously of sweet pumpkin and it was dipped in cocoa butter, making this one of the most hydrating bath bombs I have used in a while. It didn’t make the best bath art, but I didn’t really care once I felt how silky smooth my skin was after using.
Oatmeal Sugar Cane Bath Bomb
This lightly scented sweet fellow is made with coconut oil so it is hydrating while smelling nice. If you are sensitive to fragrances this would be a good one for you to use because the scent isn’t overpowering or artificial - just delicately sweet and soothing.
Café Au Lait Bubble Truffle
Oh my gosh, this smelled SO good. I don’t like the taste of coffee but I love the smell, and this smelled just like the famous New Orleans drink. This didn’t make as many bubbles as I would have liked, but I think that is because I didn’t hold it under running water as long as I usually do.
Essentially NOLA Gingerbread Spice Soap
This limited edition holiday soap is made from a fellow New Orleans business and is scented with the tang of the familiar holiday cookie. Gingerbread mixed with nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, and ginger gives this soap some zing that I tend to like in my soaps, and it didn’t dry out my skin when I used it.
The Verdict: Crescent City’s Swoon Subscription Box spoiled us this month with box-exclusive items you can’t buy online, and I am still in awe over how big that bath bomb was. Though the items are not available for sale online, I would say with the cost of the box plus shipping, you are breaking even on the value. If you appreciate supporting small brands that send high-quality, small-batch bath products than I think you will really enjoy the crescent city swoon experience.
To Wrap Up:
Can you get this box if you sign up today? No. If you sign up in December, you will get the January box.
Value Breakdown: This box cost $37.69 ($29.71 + $7.98 shipping) which means you are paying about $7.53 per item.
