Bluum December 2018 Review
This Bluum box was sent for my son, Parker, who is 2 years old. Let's see what we received this month:
Dot to Dot for Tiny Tots - Retail Value $6.99 (found here for $6.98)
This workbook is great for teaching some basic pre-writing skills and it's actually recommended for ages 3+ so I think I will save it for a little later when Parker really starts to show some interest in writing. The book features a handle at the top for easy carrying and also has pull-out pages.
The pages are bright and colorful and feature images that will appeal to my son and the lines get increasingly more complex starting with straight lines moving up to more difficult lines like spirals.
Boon Groovy Modware Interlocking Plate and Bowl Set - Retail Value $12.99 (found here for $11.99)
This plate set comes with a nice plate/bowl combo, a fork, a spoon and two tiny bowls that you can attach for dips. The colors and design are fun and bright and I am hoping they will encourage Parker to eat more at dinner time which is always a struggle for us!
I love that the little bowls can attach to any section of the plate making it fun to play around with since you can change the shape as much as you want. The little lip on the bowls allows them to snap onto the side of the plate easily and they seem to be attached fairly well!
Begin Again Balance Boat Shapes & Colors - Retail Value $12.50 (found here or $11.99)
This cute boat is made with eco-friendly sustainably harvested rubberwood and water-based stains and features 6 brightly colored shapes that my kids love! Each shape has it's own little spot on the boat when you lay it flat and they feature the word written on both sides. I love that even the boat color is labeled, too. This is great for reinforcing colors and shapes!
The best part of this boat though is the balancing action! You stand it upright and balance the shapes on top of one another creating a fun fine motor challenge for both kids and adults! This is a great eco-friendly toy that is educational and fun for the whole family.
Sky Blue Animal Scenes Stacker - Estimated Value $11.99 (based on a similar cube puzzle found here)
This fun puzzle cube stacker is made exclusively for Bluum in partnership with Sky Blue. I could not find this online and even the one that I based the price off of is only similar in that it has cubes with animal scenes on each side. Our puzzle features 9 blocks and four different animal scenes. The base actually rocks and the wooden rods move and bend to make it easy to add blocks to it. This puzzle is actually sort of complex in that the child has to pay attention to the sequence in order to correctly complete the puzzle. This is definitely one of those fun toys that will keep the kids' attention! It might even be worth more than my estimate since the one we received is such great quality and so exclusive!
Verdict: This was such a great Bluum box this month full of very unique and educational toys. The plate was fun and useful and a nice balance to the toys that we received. I was really happy with this box and I think that Parker was too! I am estimating the total value to be $44.47 which is a great value for such awesome items in a box that costs $34 including free shipping. Plus, the value could potentially be higher based on that stacking puzzle!
