Luxe Catch Posh Box “Leather Weather” November 2018 Review

jacket selections

November‘s theme is “Leather Weather” and is all about jackets. Orders for this box were October 1-31 (shipped in November). I received this image in the theme spoiler email. Luxe Catch asks for your preference, so I sent them a yes/no breakdown of the examples they sent and told them I prefer moto, trench, or pea-coat style jackets.

Badgley Mischka Leather Fur Collar Biker Moto Jacket – Retail Value $595

Wow! I’m soooo happy I received this jacket! It was teased in some of the emails about this month and I loved it from the moment I saw it. I was thinking I would receive something like the examples above, but I couldn’t be happier with my pick. This gorgeous leather jacket is made from grained lambskin leather and is fully lined with silky polyester. The shearling at the collar is lamb and is super soft. Gold zipper details and ribbed accents along the sides give it a rugged vibe while still looking chic. I can immediately tell the difference between this jacket and all the others I’ve had before. It is very thick and sturdy which provides a lot of warmth but is also breathable and comfortable.

Halston Heritage Cotton Blend Sweater – Retail Value $295

I’m not sure why this is called a “cotton blend” sweater because it is made from 85% silk and 15% cashmere, which is so much better. As you can imagine, it feels and wears like a dream. The model shows it worn as an off-one-shoulder silhouette, so that’s how I tried it. It certainly doesn’t sit the same way on my wide shoulders as it does on her tiny frame, but I still love it. It has an easy, slouchy feel that looks great anyway it falls. And I love the deep-v in the back! It gives the sweater a sexy edge that can be played up with a strappy bralette or left alone to show a little skin. I think the split detail on the wrists looks best for me scrunched up just a little so I can show off my watch or bracelets.

French Connection Lace Up Leatherette Pants – Retail Value $188

Can you say WOW again?! My favorite bottoms for winter are a pair of black, leather-like, coated leggings that I’ve essentially worn ragged. These are a perfect replacement for those with a little (ahem…or a lot) of added sass. The laces up the sides are perfectly paired with a glitzy top for a night out or can be played down to a more casual look with a sweater like the one I just showed you.

The fabric is a cotton/poly/elastane mix so it’s stretchy but has some structure. They are super comfortable and the mid-rise button waist doesn’t cut into my stomach at all. Back to the laces … they are functional and can be adjusted to however “open” you want them to be. There is a panel of fabric layered under the top section for coverage (about the length of short shorts). I like that there are pockets in the back so they feel more like real pants than my current leggings.

pants worn casual

Here I’ve paired the sweater and lace-up pants with my slide on sneaks for a more casual look. I didn’t know that I’d like anything but heel with these pants, but I love this look too. It just epitomizes my style – sassy but comfortable. 🙂

The Verdict: I can’t say enough about how pleased I am with the styles in my catch this month. The feel and texture of these pieces are just so luxe and make me feel wonderful when I wear them. I know the cost is up there, but when everything hits the style mark, it is such a great deal! I love that all of these items work together, so, not only did I get an amazing outfit, but I also got staple pieces that will be favorites all season. December’s theme is “Glamazon” and is all about the perfect party look. I’m thinking sultry dresses, glitzy details, and luxurious velvet. I can’t wait to see if I’m right!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The “Leather Weather” box sign up period has passed but you can check out the current theme on their Insta feed. If you sign up on or by November 30th you’ll receive the December “Glamazon” box as your first catch.

Coupon – Use code MSAROCKS to save 20% off your first box!

Value Breakdown: The Posh Box costs $250. The jacket, sweater, and pants have a combined retail value of $1078. Here’s approximately what each item costs:

  • Badgley Mischka Leather Jacket – $137.99
  • Halston Heritage Sweater – $68.41
  • French Connection Pants – $43.60

So, I saved $828 and got a 76% discount. That’s some pretty incredible savings.

  1. Tiffany – you look amazing in everything!
I signed up for the November box and got an incredible reversible jacket.
My December box was a flop for me, unfortunately.
How do you adjust the style profile? I can’t find anywhere on their site to do this, and I’ve reached out to them twice for assistance.
    Thanks!

    • You have to email them to adjust your profile. Its weird you haven’t gotten any responses. They usually respond to me in a few hours, up to a day (one time it was a day). Maybe you should check your spam or junk mailbox?

Why didn’t you like your glamazon? I loooooved mine.

    • Omg – why didn’t you like your glamazon? I looooved mine!

You can adjust your profile by emailing them. They’re usually quick to respond. Maybe you should check your spam or junk mailbox?

    • Haha, sorry for the multiple messages!

Somethings wrong with the site – I thought the first one didn’t go through. But it seems it did.

      • That always happens to me, they will all show up just in time to make me look impatient and crazy lol.

        • Haha! Seriously I refreshed and waited a few hours. I was convinced it didn’t go through 🙂

  2. Your other comment has been visible on this thread. Sorry you missed it.

    • Thank you, Liz. I very much appreciate you taking the time to clear things up for me. I have not been censored here before, but I have read recently that a lot of other people are complaining that their comments did not post and they felt they had been censored. I would like to ask you to please remove my second comment. My original post says everything I wanted to say. Having just ended a big Fur Free Friday campaign (on Black Friday), I am particularly sensitive to this topic. I will never understand the callous nature of people who simply don’t care how their garments are made or who had to die for their fabulous jackets and pants. 😔

    • Also, my first comment still does not have a reply box option at the bottom of my post.

  3. wow you look great in all these items !

  4. That Badgley Mischka jacket is GORGEOUS! I also love the sweater, it’s a great staple piece. The lace up style is so in right now, the pants are so trendy and fun! I love it as an outfit all together, perfect for a night out.

I just received the Bargain Box and got a beautiful Blank NYC leather jacket. It fits me so well, it looks like I went to the store and tried it on. Luxe Catch sends items true to size!

  5. I got the bargain box and I also received a killer jacket! It’s a BLANK NYC reversible piece where you can chose between a shiny jacket with fur accents or a fully fur jacket when turned inside out! I love this versatility that can be dressed up or down. And the zipper and pocket details are there both ways! It’s also super heavy so I know it will keep me toasty warm on chilly days and that the quality is exceptional. I saw that they sized me up since this brand can typically run small with jackets. At first I thought it was a little big but with chunky sweaters on (that I wear every day when it’s this cold) it’s absolutely perfect! Love love love this $150 coat for only $50!! 🙌🏼

  6. You are adorable. Your shoulders are not boxy at all, though clearly you think so! (If only we saw ourselves as others see us) 🙂 You remind me of Drea de Matteo. The jacket is gorgeous, the sweater looks so comfy and the pants… we should all look that good in leather pants!

  7. I definitely see the value there. I’m apprehensive about spending that much per month for a zero return policy. Does anyone know what comes in the bargain box?

    • I received a beautiful blue moto jacket, but in knit instead of leather. I love it!

      • I bet that was pretty. I think I’ll probably start this subbing. At least this one won’t be another beauty one.

  8. oh but i guess that isn’t the cost to keep just the jacket. for 250 i guess it’s not too bad.

  9. That jacket is beautiful and I am not trying to rain on anyone’s parade BUT paying that much for a coat when so many people don’t have one at all.. I just couldn’t do it.

    • This is very true and i agree, it’s grossly beyond too much money. I live in Florida and it’s rarely cold here, but it does happen, The other morning it was 34 degrees outside waiting at the bus stop and the neighbor kids were huddled by my car trying to get by the heater, the one little boy and his sister were wearing nothing but t-shirts,not even a long sleeve, i was heartbroken and infuriated at their mom at the same time, I know they don’t have a/c in their house so they don’t have central heat either, And i know their single mother is struggling but still, so i asked where are your jackets both said they don’t have one, The next morning of course i had jackets ready for them, but the little boy was the only one at the bus stop and he already had a sweater on, I said “Oh you got a jacket that’s good” He said “Yeah, Mrs.Tammy gave it to me”..Mrs. Tammy is the school nurse 🙁 I help them with food and what not whenever i can but yes, long story short that much for any 1 piece of clothing is really not ok. I don’t think I’ve spent that much on me and my 2 girls all year on clothing honestly.

    • This. And it’s a baby lamb! 😕 I’m vegan and just couldn’t wear it with a clear conscience. There are so many alternatives to animal fur and hides.

      • Throughout the course of the month, an email is sent to ask you to customize. If you wanted vegan, you could get vegan. Just a week ago, they sent an email about dress lengths for next month. Its semi-personalized even though they are themed.

      • Not everyone gets the same thing because of different style personalities. Plus, throughout the course of the month they send an email asking you to customize. If you wanted vegan, you could ask for it. One of the options was faux fur. Just a week ago, they sent an email asking for preferences on dress lengths for next month.

      • There are very few alternatives that aren’t harmful to the environment. Faux production is incredibly toxic.

        • Look all I am saying is that LUXE CATCH does offer alternatives. But you do have keep up with the “choosy” emails to let them know.

        • I have to agree with this too, we don’t always think about the harm that faux or synthetic products cause as well.

          • I couldn’t care less if faux fur or leather is environmentally unfriendly (not sure that it really is or if it’s just another ploy used by furriers). What matters to me is the enormous cruelty suffered by animals for someone’s rather gruesome fashion choices. I am so sad that Tiffany doesn’t mind wearing dead cows, dead lambs, dead rabbits and dead worms. How could she? How could anyone? And no, I don’t wear them, eat them, buy/sell them and I don’t agree with their use in labs or so-called “entertainment”. Watch “Earthlings” and then tell me how you feel. If you’re going to be Cruella, at least own it (the collective “you”, not just Tiffany).

    • Not everyone has a phone. Not everyone has a house. Not everyone has the luxury to peruse subscription reviews.

As someone who couldn’t afford a warm coat for a few years, I can tell you that it’s okay to enjoy nice things within your budget. Unless you are currently giving all your posessions away, there is no need to criticize other people’s purchases. 250 for 3 pieces is not that much.

  10. That jacket is amazing!

  11. Best review!

  12. that jacket is life! you look great!

  13. Hey all, I got the same box which I LOVE, and if anyone is interested in the pants please reply- I got a size 10 then lost a ton of weight and they fall off my hips… 😐
I’m open to trades as well!

  14. I didn’t see this mentioned in the review at all, but what’s their return policy? If that $250 box is a bust, or doesn’t fit can you return it?

    • The label in one of the photos says no returns or refunds.

      • For 250$ I want the option of size exchange At least!

  15. Wow, what a a great deal.

As far as sizing is concerned, many high-end brands refuse to cater to us larger people. So…that’s that.

  16. Immediately ran to sign up for the posh box, so sad the largest size is a 12 — hope you smaller girls get something great!

  17. I want everything in your box. Love love love!!! Signing up!!! You look so good in everything!!!

  18. You look great in what you got. For the person who can afford to risk that much money on a non-returnable box, it might be great. I’d love to see more reviews of this box to live vicariously 🙂

    • There’s also a $50/mo bargain box available you might be interested in. My subscription addiction has a bunch of reviews on that one..

  19. Where did you get the booties you have on? They’re really cute and I agree with Susan, you look great

  20. You. Look. Amazing. The clothes look so good on you. You look comfortable and relaxed in them. They are perfect for you. It is pricey, but you are right about having staples in your closet. Things that get worn for years are really hard to put a price on. It’s worth it if you love it. Great review & box!
