Pinup in a Pack September 2018 Review
Pinup in a Pack includes a standard itemized statement as well.
Yellow Wool Beret — Retail Value Unavailable
Yellow and orange are two of my favorite colors, so I was pleased to see this yellow beret to pair with my orange hair. This is adorable on and manages to fit my pumpkin head. The only negative is I wish it was made from a stiffer wool so that the hat would hold its shape a bit better. Otherwise, this is a cute addition to my wardrobe. I envision wearing it with a plaid mini-skirt, knee-high socks, saddle shoes, a pussybow blouse, and a faux leather biker jacket for a fierce Audrey Horne from Twin Peaks meets Suzi Quatro look. Trivia: Did you know Sherilyn Fenn aka Audrey Horne is Suzi Quatro’s niece? Two of my style icons in one family, go figure!
Yellow Tortoise Shell Swirl Hoops — No Retail Value
These earrings are my favorite piece for this month’s Pinup in a Pack! I have recently become more open to adding brown and tans into my wardrobe, so this is perfect timing. Plus, the tortie looks sharp next to the yellow and white marble-esque parts. I generally wear bigger, more ostentatious style hoops— but these are just right and comfortable to wear! These would look great alone or enhanced with the rest of the accessories in this month’s box!
Retro Fade Cat Eye Sunglasses — Retail Value Unavailable
You too can live your retro autumnal best life in these gorgeous cat-eye glasses! I feel like the pictures I took in these don’t do them any justice—these glasses are just too cute. I haven’t had yellow lens sunglasses since I was in high school and stumbled upon this dreamy vintage store by Ocean City on a family vacation. I found the dreamiest pair of 90s ones and 60s purple cat eyes with yellow lens. I don’t know whatever happened to them, but I treasured them for the brief period I owned them! This time around, I won’t lose these because they are just too cool to part with. I can see wearing these sunglasses with a gold cowl neck sweater and a tan mini skirt to bring out the colors on these beauties!
Verdict: If you were unaware fall is here by the crisp, cool temperatures, Pinup In A Pack is here to remind you and help ring in Autumn with this box! I am extremely pleased with the curated pieces this month due to their style, but the color combinations were incredibly spot on as well. My fall wardrobe has gravitated towards orange, rust, and golden yellows – so this box is an absolute dream! Wear all three pieces together and you are sure to be the coolest gal at the pumpkin patch! I am truly eager to see if the October box can surpass this month’s fantastic pieces!
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, the August box is not available, but you can find similar pieces at Pinup in a Pack. Also you can sign up for the November box now (they ship out on the 10th of each month)!
Value Breakdown: This box is $19.99 and that includes free shipping. Three items are included in each box making their estimated value around $6.66 each. The Pinup in a Pack site features similar cat eye sunglasses starting at $15 a pair like these, a camel beret with pearl accents for $22, and these hexagon hoops for $12. These comparable pieces total to $49 which is $29.01 more than the Pinup in a Pack monthly subscription box fee! All in all, I was able to receive three great pieces for $19.99, a great overall value for me!
