September 2018 Naturally Vain Bath Bomb Club Review

Here is the info sheet for the box. Including an info sheet is new to the subscription, and it really helped with identifying the bath bombs. This month, all of the bath bombs were named after popular songs!

Big Yellow Taxi Bath Bomb

Big Yellow Taxi Bath Bomb

This sweet fellow is scented with banana, kiwi, grapefruit, and bubblegum—it smells delicious! I didn't realize that Big Yellow Taxi was the name of a song until I realized that a lot of the bath bombs were song titles. According to Google, it was originally written and sung by Joni Mitchell. After further investigating, I realized that Counting Crows had recorded it as well, and I actually love that song! Strange world we live in, Y'all.

Spice Up Your Life Bath Bomb

Next up: The Spice Girls! This is a blend of cedar and amber with notes of apple, cinnamon, and cherry, and it has some Epsom salts at the top of the bomb that make the entire bomb look like a crystal!

Every Rose Has It’s Thorn Bath Bomb

Every Rose Has It’s Thorn Bath Bomb

This Poison-inspired number really smells just like a bouquet of roses- it is really floral and lovely.

Sugar Sugar Bath Bomb

This is the only bath bomb that arrived damaged. If yours arrives damaged, contact Naturally Vain and they will make it right! I did have bath bombs arrived broken last month, so I do think the packaging could be improved - maybe with more bubble wrap? That aside, this had a creamy vanilla scent that was sweet and reminded me of cake, so the name is perfect for this. I had heard this song before, but I didn't know it was from an animated TV show! I highly recommend watching the music video if you have never seen it before—the frog is my favorite!

Purple Rain Bath Bomb

Purple Rain Bath Bomb

This Prince-inspired bomb is scented with raspberries and blueberries combined with sweet vanilla, and this bomb had my favorite bath art this month! It had gorgeous shades of indigo, blue, and purple, and I was really happy with the deep blue bath water I was left with once this stopped fizzing.

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds Bath Bomb

The Beatles—we really are hitting all of the classics! This bath bomb is scented with honeysuckle and jasmine, and it had a bit of glitter in it too. Honestly, this blue beauty reminded me of Cinderella and the dress her fairy godmother dresses her in!

Verdict: I am a bit in love with Naturally Vain! All of the bath bombs are hefty and solid in size, and they create beautiful bath art while smelling great. Also, none of the bath bombs stain my tub, which is a big plus for me. Most of the bath bombs on the Naturally Vain site sell for between $5-$6, and I think that is an amazing price for the quality of bath bombs received. I know that MSA readers had been interested in a more affordable bath box, and I think this one fits the bill perfectly!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you still sign up today? I don’t think so, but you can sign up for the October box here!

ACTIVE DEAL: Save $10CAD off your first box!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $31 + $3.90 shipping ($39.99 CAD + $5 CAD shipping), which means that each of the 6 items in the box has an average cost of $5.82. That is such an amazing deal for the quality of the bath bombs, and the $10 off LOVEYOURSELF coupon makes the value even better!

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I subscribed after last month’s review except I chose the bath lovers club instead. I ordered on a Sunday night and received my box on the Wednesday or Thursday. Except they sent me the wrong box – I got the bath bomb box. I emailed them with a picture and they responded within 90 minutes. They told me to keep the box and they would send the correct one right away as well. I got a shipping notice about 10 minutes later and the correct box arrived the following Monday. I was very impressed with their customer service. I haven’t tried all the products yet but I really like the ones I have tried.

I received a bath bomb last month that was simply powder in plastic, it was all crushed.
I emailed them twice with photos and they never bothered to respond.

Not a bit happy about their lack of CS. I cancelled after I kept on trying and they ignored me. Also, it might prudent and correct to note that they seem to put ” whatever they have” in the sub boxes.

I did not get what you got last month, nor did my box contain what you got this month. 2 of my bath bombs were WHITE, which is a totally lost cause for a bath bomb.

Also, ” Every Rose Has Its Thorns” was a megahit for Guns n Roses!
They went with the classics for a reason, they’re classic rock ( and one bubblegum pop with ” Sugar Sugar”) hits.
So old I can sing them all, except anything by the Spice Girls.

SquirrelyGirl

Definitely a Poison song.

I actually prefer bath bombs with no dyes. I know I am in the minority, but the dyes/glitter etc can be highly irritating to my skin. I wish it weren’t so. These are all lovely!
