Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:
- Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
- Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $19.00 for new members. (I'm not sure if "new members" refers to just your first order, though.)
- Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you'd get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
- As you shop, you'll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.
The key takeaway here is that this subscription won't automatically send you monthly packages like other services do. You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

Fabletics Narla 3-Piece Outfit, Size Medium Top & Bra, Size Large Bottoms - Retail Value $204.85, Retail Value $99.95
Now let's check out my latest outfit! Just FYI, I typically wear a 6 (or a size medium) in tops and a size 10-12 (or large) in bottoms. I'm curvy through my hips and thighs and have broad shoulders, but I wear a 36B. I've found Fabletics sizing to be really reliable from piece to piece. Sometimes the fabric that the leggings are made of impact how well they stay up/in place, but nine times out of ten, the fit is a home run. That's huge for me! I'm so used to leggings not leaving enough room for my butt or thighs and bras that fit cup wise, but not band-wise.
The pieces Fabletics released for this month feel distinctly fall. The color palette features mostly burgundy, rose, charcoal gray, and olive hues, and the combinations were a little cozier than usual, with sweatshirts and jackets popping up alongside the usual leggings and sports bras. The colors are what immediately drew me to the Narla outfit. The combination of cranberry red and rosy coral pink feels fresh, yet weirdly retro—like a reimagining of something you'd see in a 70s/80s workout class.
I think the only piece I wasn't 100% sold on was this bra. To be fair, it is REALLY comfortable. It's made of a sturdy, yet soft stretch fabric (78% nylon, 13% polyester, 9% elastane) that hugs my body without feeling restrictive. There are removable pads in the front, though they're not stiff or obtrusive the way some sports bra cups can be. (Some of them feel like there's a whole couch cushion in there!!!) But the color, which is a little more pinky/mauve than these pictures are conveying, is a bit Band-Aid-ish. And because of the nature of the stretch fabric and big thick straps in the back, this monochrome look is giving me weirdly medical vibes. But all that said, heck yes I'm going to keep wearing it! Haha! It's just too comfortable and functional not to. And maybe the color will grow on me. I honestly think it might just be hitting me the wrong way because of my slightly olive skin tone. I think the color could really shine on someone with cooler-toned or darker skin. Something that would provide more of a contrast. What do you think?
These leggings, on the other hand, are new faves for me! I love the color—after about two years of only wearing black, gray, and denim, I've been trying to bust out of my comfort zone and wear a bunch of reds and pinks—and the silhouette is awesome. These are a variation on the High-Waisted Powerhold Legging, which is one of the best products Fabletics makes, in my humble opinion. For a hippy person like myself, the ever-so-slightly nipped-in waistband is a next-level feature. It's not so drastic that you'd notice it, but the very top of the waistband is just slightly sturdier and narrower than the rest of the hip area, which means these leggings stay in place like none other. The fabric is 88% polyester, 12% elastane, which is moisture-wicking and pretty breathable given how thick it is. It's got a brushed-cotton feel to it, too, which feels a bit cozier than sleek semi-shiny leggings do, especially around this time of year.
This pair has mesh panels that run from about mid-thigh down to the ankle. There's also a pocket along each thigh that I could see using for ID cards or locker keys at the gym. (You could probably slide your phone in there, but mine is so big that I feel all off-kilter with it clinging to one side of me, haha!)
My favorite piece in the outfit has to be this hoodie. The color is just so pretty! It's got all the bells and whistles that a hoodie should have—zippered pockets, thumbholes, drawstrings for the hood—plus a little ruched back detail that gives you a little more of a silhouette than you might get from typical hoodies. It's made of 81% polyester, 13% rayon, and 6% elastane, which gives it a stretchy, hefty quality that's rather comforting after a hard workout. This is one of those pieces I could see using as a light jacket on day-to-day adventures as well as a new pre- and post-workout staple.
Oh, and for everyone asking, the shoes are Fabletics, too! I got them in last month's order. Are they the greatest performance sneaker? Eh... I'll let you read my review to get the full scoop 🙂
The Verdict: I honestly love Fabletics apparel. The quality is great, they wear and wash SO well, and for me, the fit is better (especially when it comes to the leggings) than any other brands I've tried. Obviously, the biggest hurdle is the price point. This outfit cost nearly $100.00, but do you want to spend $100 on activewear? For some folks, yes. For everyone else, remember this—you can always skip a month with Fabletics and dodge the monthly charge. Put something in your Google Calendar or a reminder in your phone to make sure you remember to log in and skip within the first 5 days of the month, and you'll be golden. But if and when you are ready to make a purchase (at least based on my experience), there's a good chance you'll be really happy with what you get. Oh, and if you've not subscribed before, you should really do the two leggings for $24.00 deal that they offer. The leggings are literally SO good! I'd love to hear what folks with other body shapes think of them. Did they impress you the way they did me?
