Witch Baby is a soap company that has been providing luxurious, handmade bath products made from the finest witchy ingredients since 2013. In the last year or so they started offering a quarterly subscription box that offers seasonal subscription boxes that include exclusive, lunar-themed bath bombs, oils, crystals, enamel pins, soaps, and other products.

Witch Baby Spell Box Summer 2018 Review

Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0004 booklet

Witch Baby includes a pamphlet with info about each new moon, the bath bombs that coordinate with them, and what each bath bomb symbolizes. I love this company’s thoughtful attention to detail and their themes in each of their products.

Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0005

The first page gives info on the items included in this Summer 2018 Spell Box. This quarter, they provided a special preview to their upcoming collection, Peace, Love, and Witchcraft. The collection features the Holy Smokes Body oil and the scrub named after the collection. It is full of alluring and unique fragrances only Witch Baby could conjure up!

Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0006

The following pages detail the phases of the moon we will have this summer and the bath bombs that coordinate with each. These pages detail the June 28th Capricorn Rising Moon and July 27th the Aquarius Rising Moon.

These pages detail the Pisces Rising Moon on August 26th and also about the beauty and benefits of being able to infuse witchcraft into your art.

Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0008

The first of these two pages give info on the variety of magical waters that you can collect with the jar included to charge under the moon or the sun in a sign that resonates with your goals.  The second pages talks about the sun and its importance in witchcraft.

These pages include a Summer WitchList filled with activities to do during the summer and also a celestial forecast providing all the lunar phases and info from March through August.

Finally, on the back, we have powerful words from the late and great, Carrie Fisher. These are certainly words to live by: make your life art!

Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0011 body scrub Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0012 body scrub

Peace, Love, & Witchcraft Body Scrub 2oz - 4oz Scrubs start at $8 on the site

This quarter’s scrub is a fantastic, gritty sugar scrub. Its scent profile consists of dark berries along with cactus fruit and pink amber. The berries give it this delightful sweet aroma, but the amber comes through and adds a somewhat spicy note. The scrub has oils in it that will moisten your skin as you exfoliate. It is absolutely luxurious and the gorgeous scent lingers for hours on your skin!

June Moon Bath Bomb — Estimated Value $5-$10 (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on site)

This June bath bomb is fragrant with a rejuvenating citrus and mint scent. It also is filled with petals of Amaranth petals as well lending a floral note. This bath bomb was incredibly soothing as well and I loved the beautiful turquoise it turned my water. The fuschia flecks you see in my bathwater are the petals. So pretty!

July Moon Bath Bomb - Estimated Value $5-$10 (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on site)

The July bath bomb is in shades you would see in a gorgeous sunset! I absolutely love warm shades of orange and yellow, so I was immediately drawn to this bomb. This bomb was immensely herbaceous with notes of Basil and Sage, along with Frankincense and Bergamot. What a gloriously warm and vibrant scent. I may be a dingbat, but I still don’t know what those gummy kernel like stones were. Regardless, I strongly enjoyed this bath bomb!

August Moon Bath Bomb - Estimated Value $5-$10 (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on site)

Well, look who brought out the Stevie Nicks witchy mermaid glitz, am I right? This bath bomb has glitter, a seashell, and is made from comforting coconut milk, soothing seaweed, lovely lemon, and has a pretty peony scent! It made for a decadent bath and I have the baby seashell as a reminder.

Fire Breath, Travel Size

Each quarter, Witch Baby includes a travel size soap in their Spell Boxes. Usually, the samples are limited edition or popular discontinued scents. The soap itself has a little starburst shape with some bits of gold shimmer. This soap has a warming fragrance blend of hot peppers, summer fruits, and Tupelo honey! I love these mini-sized soaps for travel since they can be easier and far more convenient to lug around than a bottle of shower gel.

The Sun Soap, 4oz - Estimated Value $5

Witch Baby often has had collections with Tarot card related items, so I was not surprised to see this Sun soap included this month. The fragrance profile vivid and vibrant, like our summer sun itself! I can smell hints of mango and orange! This is a rather uplifting and energizing soap. Use it through into the fall to keep a piece of summer with you!

Holy Smokes Body Oil, Travel Size .5fl oz - Retail Value $6 (currently sold out)

The body oils that Witch Baby includes are one of my favorite items to get each quarter! The scents are always so unique and are lasting! I was surprised that a coordinating oil for Peace, Love, & Witchcraft wasn’t included for this quarter’s Spell Box, but wearing these two layered together--- I understand why they included Holy Smokes instead! Holy Smokes has such an earthy, smoky scent due to the Sage and Palo Santo that the combo with the berry-filled Peace, Love, and Witchcraft create this complex and gorgeous scent. Yet again, Witchbaby nails it!

Witch Baby also included this pouch full of magical trinkets!

Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0033

Ace of Paintbrush Enamel Pin - Estimated Value $13

This pin is a take on the Ace of Wands tarot card, but instead of a wand, the hand is holding a big paint brush. Expressing yourself through art is a powerful thing, and this quarterly Spellbox is encouraging combining magic along with your art to make it even more powerful! I love this concept and especially like the red stiletto nails detail, because, DUH! I love a good set of talons!

Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0034

Carnelian Stone

Carnelian stone is known to promote and provide motivation, endurance, leadership, and courage. It makes sense to include this beautiful red-orange stone to help amp your creative juices!

Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0035 Witch Baby Soap Subscription Box Summer 2018 0036

Citrine Stone

This Citrine stone spoke to me as soon as I opened the pouch; possibly because it is November’s birthstone and I am a wild Scorpio. Citrine has numerous benefits! Health wise it is used to treat bladder diseases and imbalances in the thyroid gland. It is also believed to be of value in spiritual healing as well! It is a powerful cleanser and regenerator and carries virtues of self-healing, inspiration, and motivation. These are all fantastic to bring energy and creativity to your art process!

Magical Water Collecting Jar

Included as well is a jar for collecting magical waters. Water is used in various spells and can be charged under the moon or sun in different cycles. The water you collect can symbolize different things for spells and magic. For example, lake or pond water is to provide calm and peaceful cleansing; whereas stormwater symbolizes passion and is meant to evoke strong emotions and energy. This water when charged can be used in watercolor art!

Witchbaby Watercolor Set

Finally, we have a watercolor set with Witch Baby’s logo on it - how neat! As an art major (in what seems like another life), I used to use watercolors frequently. They can be difficult to use and do take some time learning how much water to have or not have on your brush depending on how intense or muted you want a part on a piece you are working on. I love the idea of using the charged water in this process. Sounds fun and could really bring a unique outcome in a thoughtful art piece.

Verdict: I am forever impressed with Witch Baby’s Summer Spellbox! I absolutely adore Witch Baby’s dedication to their themes and eye for detail in this box and their products in general. They truly put their heart into everything they do and it shows! I love their booklets included because I always learn something new or interesting as well. I am smitten with everything in this quarter’s box, but my top items have to be the July bath bomb, Peace, Love, & Witchcraft scrub, Holy Smokes body oil, and the Citrine stone. Witchbaby has cast a spell on me; I am in love with them for their devotion to quality products and good causes (they donate proceeds from products to groups like Planned Parenthood). I can’t suggest this subscription box enough and am eagerly anticipating what is in store with the Fall Spellbox!

This box is $40 plus shipping for one-time purchase or $36 plus shipping if you subscribe to it quarterly.  All of the items featured are exclusives to the subscription box and are not available for purchase (Holy Smokes, Peace, Love, &Witch Craft, and Fire Breath are apart of the Peace, Love, & Witchcraft collection). The bath bombs range in price, but due to shape and size to similar ones I saw on the site I determined each bath bomb would more than likely retail at $6.50 each which is $19.50 for all three. The pins featured on the Witch Baby site are $13 a piece, the .5oz oils are $6, most of the scrubs are $5, and the stones and watercolor paints aren’t available on the site at all. If I take into account how much the other items retail that comes up to $49 before shipping which is roughly about a $4 savings.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, but the Winter Box is up for pre-order here.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $36/quarter + $9.09 shipping to PA, which means that each of the 12 items in the box has an average cost of $3.76.

Magical water collector (a jam jar with a sticker on it) for use in “spells”? Watercolors? A $13 paintbrush pin? Citrine to treat bladder diseases? That’s junk science and they definitely shouldn’t be making these kinds of false medical claims. Bladder disease and thyroid issues are serious health concerns that a rock can’t cure. I’d be leery of any company making those types of statements.

JAnn, I don’t think they are saying to replace modern medicine with wicca, necessarily. The pamphlet gives info and suggestions (as the pics show), but isn’t claiming stones included as a cure all. The info I provided regarding the stones were found googling info about them and not completely what Witchbaby is suggesting. The products like the bathbombs and oil are the main focus, but these boxes have themes to tie in that are immensely creative. Enamel pins these days too go for around $10, so that price point isn’t too unusual. The value of the box is worthwhile for what you get if you check out the value of the bath bombs, oils, and scrubs. Some of the boxes have included more bath bombs due to more lunar phases within that quarter. That being said, I love their products! The scents are so unique and lovely. I hope that helps more with your concerns!

Nicole. I would have guessed you were an art major! So was I in a former life

Pam, oh nice! Yes, I was back and forth on majoring in art and creative writing in college. That feels like a lifetime ago, but it was fun for sure!

“…but I still don’t know what those gummy kernel like stones were.” I believe that is the frankincense resin.

Did you just get this box? Because that would mean it’s a bit late, and I don’t see them doing that. Other than that, it looks incredible

Jamie

I got their Fall box yesterday, so I think this must have shipped a while ago. It was worth the wait to see such pretty pictures of the bath bombs in action, though!

The box I got yesterday was so awesome. I can’t believe how good everything smells!
