My Zodiac Box "Pisces" Review July 2018

When you first sign up for My Zodiac Box, you'll answer some preference questions like your zodiac sign (of course), birthday, jewelry colors and sizes, if you have a bathtub, and if you'd like to receive clothing. This means each box will be curated specifically for you!

pamphlet

It comes with a booklet.

The first page has a quote from Carl Sagan.

The other page has all of the items featured in the box.

Horoscope for August

On the back, you'll find your horoscope for the upcoming month. This rightfully gets people confused, but since this box ships at the end of the month, they give you your horoscope for the next month. This one also came pretty late in the middle of August. They seem to have trouble getting boxes out on time. 🙁

Onyx Marble Mortar and Pestle Onyx Marble Pestle laying next to mortar closer look at pestle in mortar Onyx Marble Info card

Onyx Marble Mortar + Pestle

It looks like there were several Onyx Marble item variations and I received this really cool mortar and pestle. It's quite heavy and has beautifully swirled shades of cream, brown, and red. I've never owned one of these so I'm tempted to now get into crushing up herbs n such with this. The info card tells me that Onyx Marble can attract good luck and success for small business owners and also help realize your dreams and think clearly. Very cool!

Clear Quartz and Silver Pendant Necklace for Pisces

I didn't realize clear quartz was a Pisces stone. I'm used to ones that are more blue (like the forthcoming turquoise piece). There isn't anything going in-depth about it but the box it comes in just has three Pisces qualities listed as "charming, passionate, and free-spirited". I find all three to be true, and I do like the simplicity of the necklace. It's not quite long enough to fit over my head without unclasping and hangs about to the middle of my chest.

Agate Slice in Sea Green/Turquoise

The next item is a sizable slice of agate in a celestial pouch that often comes in My Zodiac Box. The only slice of agate I own is a pink pendant that I got at a flea market, so this will be nice to add to my collection. There are a couple of info cards included as well that talk about agate which should help mental function ( I need that ASAP), helps with overcoming negative emotions, and helps achieve stability. The other card speaks to the color in regards to Pisces. I have always been drawn to the blue hues which are calming and promotes strength, independence, and reliability (which I have to say are qualities I possess and am proud of).

Meteorite

Another pouch in the box this month reveals three tiny chunks of a meteorite! Specifically, the accompanying info card tells me it's from the Campo del Cielo iron meteorite that came crashing down near Buenos Aires, Argentina around 4,200-4,700 years ago! These stones promote patience and assistance with inner vision and access to other worlds. Makes a lot of sense! These little babies are small but they are really cool and have a metallic sheen to them.

Water Element Bath Bomb Water Element Bath Bomb with info cards

Water Element Bath Bomb - Retail Value $7.95

The last item for this Pisces this month is the water element bath bomb. It's made in my home state of Ohio and has a strong refreshing scent to it. It's a little overpowering in the box, but I'm confident once I drop it in a tub it will be manageable. It's a pleasing powder blue color as well!

The Verdict: My Zodiac Box included five items this month, three of which were specific to my sign. The mortar and pestle are probably my faves, but the agate is cool too. Even though everything I received is nice, I'm a little unsure about the value. The necklace didn't seem to be a super high quality and the stones have lower values overall. While this box is really fun, I wish it were a bit cheaper.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The first box you'll receive is their Welcome Box that will look something like the one I got for April and should ship right away. After that, you will get charged on the 7th of each month and boxes ship around the 27th of each month, so you most likely won't get it until early the following month.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $39.95 + free shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box come to about $7.99 a piece.

I received an obelisk instead of the mortar & pestle and it is absolutely gorgeous! And even though the meteorite is tiny, it is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever gotten in a sub box. My necklace was labradorite and did not seem cheap at all—it actually seemed really high quality! I agree the value probably isn’t too much more than what you pay, but I would never find these items on my own and they are so cool! I love this box.

I received this box for August not july

Hey Beccah! We just received this one in August as well, but it’s the July box as far as I know. There’s a lot of confusion around this since the back of the booklet has the August horoscope, but when I spoke to someone from My Zodiac box, they said that since they ship at the very end of the month, they include the horoscope for the upcoming month if that makes sense. They’ve also had a bit of trouble getting boxes out on time, so this one came mid-August instead of at the beginning.

At least the necklace is sterling silver, and not silver tone. The mortar and pestle is nice, to me, the best pick of the group. But, the box really needs to be $24.99-29.00, tops.

AH

I’ve wanted a zodiac box so I was super excited to open this up. Then, I saw the price point, and that pretty much killed it. I think this could be a box that is better for quarterly or bi-monthly to attain long term subscribers (and stay in business! Since it’s there so much competition). If it was $20 or less, then monthly wouldn’t be such an investment, but I would still be worried about product burnout. PSMH was about $40 when it was monthly (if you paid full price) and then FFF is $40 as a new subscriber 99.9% of the time. I feel this community (true sub box addicts) expects a lot for a $40 because of boxes that have given over $200 and 300 in RV (even if some of it was inflated). And both of those boxes supplied a super wide type of products.
Don’t get me wrong, I was happy with what I saw and read, especially possibly including clothing. But either the price needs to go down or the frequency decreases to see myself as a long term subscriber (and most others interested I think).

It would seem totally worth it for just like, $9 less I think. A $30 box with those items is good. Thought I will say, I have a small chalice made of that same onyx material and it cost $12.99 soo…there is a bit more value in that. I still like it could be a little less, or maybe have another item that’s a higher value.

The Meteorite is cool but it would of been nice if they were a little larger!! I don’t sub to this box , but always read the reviews and I agree that it seems overpriced when compared to other similar subscriptions.
