My Zodiac Box "Pisces" Review April 2018
When you first sign up for My Zodiac Box, you'll answer some preference questions like your zodiac sign (of course), birthday, jewelry colors and sizes, if you have a bathtub, and if you'd like to receive clothing. This means each box will be curated specifically for you! Your first box will be a "Welcome Box" and include a book as well as other items just for your sign.
Your box will come with a short info booklet.
It lists the five items in the box across two pages...
...and the back has your *upcoming* monthly horoscope on it as read by Ancasta Day. Looks like May should be pretty good for me!
The first item came in this cool dark blue pouch with metallic gold puffy sun and star designs on it.
Inside is a glass vial of gemstones! I actually didn't know that turquoise was associated with Pisces since I have a March birthday and always thought it was aquamarine. I know that blue, in general, is a great color for Pisces (as well as a personal fave), so this gorgeous teal and gold colored stone makes sense. The card that came with it says that it's "a wonderful companion when releasing old behaviors such as self-sabotage and self-martyrdom" (a-hem). It also enhances intuition and communication between the physical and spiritual realms and relates to the throat chakra (which I have been known to need help with).
Ooh- I am a sucker for wooden or ceramic trinket dishes like this and I just adore the light blue and white colors. The 4.5 inch in diameter dish is handmade by Brooklyn artist, Demetria Chappo, so each one has it's own unique variation in shape and is signed on the bottom with the zodiac sign noted. The design features two fish swimming in a circle of waves with a lovely wave-like border as well. It's on the shallow side so it's perfect to rest jewelry in on your nightstand or dresser.
24k White Gold Dipped Constellation Necklace for Pisces by Beaucoup Designs
I wasn't able to find this necklace online, and am not sure how to estimate this delicate 24k white gold dipped necklace with cubic zirconia stones, so the retail value is a bit of a mystery to me. I normally wear large statement necklaces if I wear a necklace at all, but I do have a fair amount of smaller pieces like this that have been given to me by friends. I tend to wear more silver jewelry than gold, so it's nice that I got the white gold dipped version of this one. It's on a silver chain and features a constellation for my sign (Pisces) with eight tiny cubic zirconia stones and one larger star-shaped one against the white gold background.
Here is the necklace on. I like the length of this one and it has three fastening options so you can make it shorter. Since it's hard to see against my tattoo, I'll have to wear this with a shirt that covers more of my chest.
Here's the necklace in the trinket dish.
Paddywax Candle in Saltwater and Suede, 2 oz.
I love a good candle and this small one from Paddywax in a gold tin is perfect to travel with or to set in smaller areas like my home office. The scent is rather strong but definitely calls up visions of being seaside which is quite calming.
Astrology Book for Pisces by Patrizia Troni - Retail Value $6.95
The last item is a really great one! This small hardcover book is all about my water sign: Pisces. Taking a look through, it has short sections on a variety of areas like "How Pisces Thinks and Reasons" ("If they should ever manage to let themselves be guided by the instinct and rationally elaborate what their imagination has given them a glimpse of, they would be invincible") to "When Pisces Get Angry" ("when faced with the injustice of an egotistic world, their utopian and decidedly bellicose side goes on a rampage). I love reading through this and thinking "oh, that is soooo me" and feel like it'd be a great way to learn about my loved one's personalities as well (or rather, for them to learn about mine).
The Verdict: My first delivery (and the first-ever box) from My Zodiac Box was really fun! I think they hit a lot of great items from stones to jewelry to candles and I learned a bit about myself in the meantime. There was nothing in this box I didn't like and it was full of five items I found useful and cool! Definitely looking forward to what future months may hold.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your first box will be this welcome box, a lot like this one but may differ since our preferences might not be the same and should ship right away. Each following month, you'll be charged on the 7th but it won't ship until around the 27th so you'll most likely receive it in the first week of the next month.
Coupon - Use YAYMSA to get $5.00 off your first box!
Value Breakdown: Not everything included in this box was available to purchase online, so at $39.95, you're paying roughly $7.99 per item.
