BuddhiBox Essential Oils August 2018 Review

bbeo mantra bbeo packing list

Each month's BuddhiBox includes a card with an inspiring mantra on the front and info about the contents of the box on the back. This month's inspirational quote is one of many awesome Thich Nhat Hanh quotes, focusing on nature.

bbeo cedarwood oil

Scentuals Cedarwood Essential Oil, 10 ml – Retail Value $12.95 CAD, Listed Value $10.00

Just last month, I had mentioned to a commenter on my BBEO review that I wish this box would include straight-up essential oils more often, rather than sprays and roll-on blends. This month, my wish was answered! They sent along a small bottle of Cedarwood essential oil, which isn't one I have in my collection yet. I love the scent of cedar—always have—and look forward to finding uses for this oil. According to the Scentuals website, uses for it are to help with coughing, inflammation, and nasal congestion. Sounds like I'm going to have some good smells in my life next time I catch a cold!

bbeo diffuser

tea infuser

Heart Tea Infuser — Listed Value $8.00

How cute is this tea infuser? I already have two infusers, but I don't mind receiving another because it's nice to have a few on hand to enjoy loose-leaf teas with a friend or two. I like that this one is on the end of a handle instead of a chain—sometimes the chain on my other infuser gets super hot in my mug and is hard to pull out without making a mess. It seems that won't be the case with this one!

bbeo wellness tea

bbeo loose leaf tea

Evnea Wellness Organic Revitalizing Blend Tea, Sample Size - Listed Value $8.00 (Buy a 3.2 oz tin here for $19.85)

I received an Evnea Wellness tea sample in a past BuddhiBox, but I have yet to try it because I drink way less tea in the summer. This one seems really refreshing, though, with its blend of lemon balm, peppermint, and sage. Maybe I'll make it into iced tea before the weather cools down!

tumbled stone

bbeo desert rose stone

Tumbled Stones Desert Rose - Retail Value $5.00

I've never seen desert rose selenite before, but I'm so intrigued! Supposedly it gets its shape from being tumbled by water, wind, and sand. It's said to help in guiding you to follow your intuition. I could stare at its unique textures all day!

bbeo meditation

The Dreaming Yogi Meditation - Listed Value $10

This month's meditation is meant to ground listeners with nature, and was fittingly filmed in a beautifully lush outdoor location. Meli encourages viewers to sit outside or near a window for this meditation, but if that's not possible, it's still a great mental exploration into nature! She introduces an essential oil into the mix—though, oddly, not the one included in this month's box—as well as a mudra, which is a hand position. I really enjoyed this month's meditation!

Verdict: This month's BuddhiBox Essential Oils box was an awesomely earth-themed one. I loved the change-up of including a pure essential oil, was intrigued by the stone, and felt calmed by the meditation. BuddhiBox Essential Oils costs $15.95 (US shipping included), and its contents add up to about $41, which was calculated using a mix of listed and retail values.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the September box. Order by the 8th of the month to receive that month’s box.

Value Breakdown: At $15.95 for this box, you're paying approximately $3.19 for each of the 5 included items.

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

How long are the meditations? I have a friend this would be great for, but she doens’t have a lot of time to meditate.

Usually about 10 minutes including a quick intro, but sometimes less!
