im so upset. I was really excited for the highlighter (that and the lipstick were the only things that barely made this box worth it) but instead I got the ugly ass bright neon pink blush. I goddamn hate blush and never use it. This box was so disappointing that I immediately unsubscribed.

If anyone wants to trade the blush for the highlighter, please let me know.

What a terrible box. Glad I didn’t sign up. That colorful Eyeshadow palette a few months back was amazing. This is kinda lame

I thought it was a cute box of items. I received the rose blush which I am happy about. Still, I will likely give the box to my daughter. The LA Splash items are in pretty little potion like containers, I think she will enjoy them or even gifting them. Even so, I’ll likely cancel after next month because I have too many subscriptions. I also just re-canceled Ipsy. I’ll keep Beautyfix and Allure <– which I also just signed my daughter to. On the fence about Boxycharm but it also has its merits as a convenient, affordable gifting source. And I still do the occasional one-off of something I really like that is a great value with a coupon — thinking of you FabFitFun. I love the look of the Margot Elena boxes but at this point its a no-go unless I let more go. Seriously talking first world problems, I'm embarrassed.

Also, I think they screwed up a bit by putting themselves directly against Allure’s price point. Maybe they had to but, they probably would have faced a lot less griping if they had raised their price only to like $13.99. Then maybe people would have said, “It’s almost as much as the Allure box but not quite and it is a fun sub with novel items you don’t see a lot of so it’s worth keeping.” Popular sentiment along those lines. I feel a bit bad for them but what are you gonna do, it is what it is.

Apricot

My bad. I was thinking their sub is $14.99 but it’s just $14 so, maybe if they had raised it to just $13.. yada, yada.

Does anyone actually know the steps online to cancel this subscription?? Help! 😂

2 makeup removers does not a great box make. They raised the price and I am fine with that if the box is worth it. This is not for me.

I will give them til September the latest before I cancel…I’m trying to understand what the their logic is with these boxes after increasing the price! It’s not like it was $1 they increased it by $3! There is no excuse as to why they haven’t been doing better, one month they sent a FULL SIZE The Balm palette and now we’re lucky to even get a small eyeshadow pan….also, that colorful eyebrow spoiler ended up getting deleted on their Instagram….so shady and messed up, I feel like it’s a ploy to get more money and more subscribers and then it’s like screw us….this box is NOT worth $14. If it was $11 then yes it would be….you would think after the bioderma screw up that month they would’ve really made these boxes too notch! come on cult crushes, your going to lose your current loyal subscribers

I think that even for $11 this is really bad (seriously, two makeup removers in one bag??). My Ipsy bag this month is a lot better than this.

And the only reviews I’ve found for that lash serum are worrying.

All in all, glad I unsubscribed before the price hike.

About the eye-brow color; I was thinking maybe they received so much feedback about grown ladies not wanting to look like clowns (I know some were excited to try it) that they rethought their month’s product offerings. Its been a bumpy couple months for them just going by the comments I’ve read on MSA.

I, too, was wondering about the colorful brow stuff. That’s pretty sketchy to give out a spoiler of an item, and then not include it in the box. This will be my first box. I subbed because I have seen some fun items in past boxes and this month’s box was boasting colorful brow gel and the LA Splash lippie. Do they ship just one version of their box?

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

I stand corrected there are people on Instagram saying they received a bright pink blush instead of highlight cream .

Reply ButtonReply

RoguesEn3D

Oooo.. I think I would have liked the blush, but I may try the highlighter cream.

The lipstick color I received is “Death Dealer”. I was hoping for something fun like a teal, blue, or purple color, but this looks like a pretty… I don’t know – rose/berry/magenta color. I haven’t opened it yet so I’m just looking at it through the tube.

Lisa

They send same products to everyone although the colors or scents of products can vary.

For people wondering how to cancel or pause I recommend pausing because it is easier if you decide to receive box again to reactivate. Either way you are not charged. Anyway sign into account scroll all the way down to My Subscription click then scroll down to Actions click view there you should see option to pause or cancel. I have also heard of people emailing to cancel.

Cancelling…well trying to figure out how to so just deleted my credit card info to start.

Erica

I’m debating canceling as well. I’m really trying to give them a chance and step it up because they were better in the past, so I know they have potential. But I can only want so long. The product selections have been disappointing lately.

From what I read, their boxes sucked in the past so they did the palette thing to draw people in so their name would be out there.
Then when they got popular enough, they cut off the palettes & other good stuff bc they achieved their goal.
I really don’t think they’re going to go back to being good again. Regardless of the palette

Bonnie

Their boxes actually didn’t suck. Here and there there was a dud, but I’ve subbed from the first box in November 2016 and most of them were good to great. The palettes are few and far between, no doubt, but the first few were themed boxes. There was always an item from RickyCare. The first was a red lip look, complete with plumper, liner, lip color and two other related items I can’t remember that far back. Then there was an eye look where we got Inglot gel liner (black) and other items for that look, then a day to night where we got a RickyCare highlight palette, among other things.

So, no the box didn’t suck, even without palettes. I’ve gotten 3 shadow palettes and two highlight palettes from them the whole time. They do seem to have lost that cool edge, where they came up with a theme and gave you stuff you don’t see everywhere else.

JuJu

You really need to look up the September 2017 box, and then see how all the subsequent boxes compared.

I canceled my subscription after they told subscribers they would give them a free item if they gave them 5 stars on fb. They had a 2. 4 rating. Now they have a 4+ rating. They have horrible customer service and they delete comments on fb and Instagram. I thought they would be better once they got over adding too many subscribes. I guess not. Its sad because i used to love them.

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

That bribing customers for ratings really turned me off as well. Even if they do start sending great products again I don’t trust them . I gave them a 1 star review on Facebook because of horrible June box and their dishonesty.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

Why shouldn’t they delete unflattering comments? Social media is about narcissism. “Hey everyone, look at me! I’m fabulous!!!”

I agree with you that they used to be much better. I defended them through the price hike, but the last few boxes have not been as good as earlier ones. I will see if the August box excites me. If not, I’m canceling.

Ricky’s is dead to me…(sorry ladies, I love most other boxes, but this one gives me agita).

I really loke cult crushes i have been with them since Nov. 2017, i cant wait for the fall and winter boxes from this company and oyher subscription boxes… hopefully we get great products like last year….

Reply ButtonReply

Donna

Fall and Winter boxes?

I guess I missed those. I’ve been subscribed since October, but I’m getting kinda bored.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Just a guess… but I think she meant boxes that will come out in the Fall & Winter months vs a single box that comes out for the Fall season then another one for the Winter season. That’s how I read it anyways. 🙂

Jen

Omg so glad I cancelled. Didn’t live up to the first “spoiler” and now they over do it with the make up removers.

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

They spoiled a colorful brow product I bet something went wrong like the past few months and they had to scramble for different item and that’s why people are getting 2 make up removing products in same box. By the way my replacement item in May was make up remover wipes lol

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

Yeah, I was also wondering what happened to that. Not that I’d ever use colors like that on my eyebrows, but they did spoil that item all over the internet.

Seems to me this subscription is doing much worse now instead of better. Doesn’t bode well.

EXACTLY what I was thinking 🙁 I hate getting makeup remover in boxes, I can buy a big bottle of Garnier micellar water for less than $10 and a big jar of Pond’s for $5 and that’s enough for a year.

I also hate being negative but I feel really let down. I know it’s hard for a small company and all but… if the highlighter were something special like one of the palettes with colorful highlighter like Anastasia and… Naked, I think, have, that would be cool, just just plain highlighter I now have plenty of too. Fingers crossed for a cool lip color shade or this might be my last Ricky’s and I’ll get Allure or something instead.

Reply ButtonReply

La

I’ve been w Allure over a year, and i def. don’t want to cancel that, but i think i’m going to cancel Ricky’s (subbed in Dec.).
