CHC Vintage Accessories June 2018 Review
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card and the handy styling tips that were included.
Vintage Avon Necklace – Retail Value Unavailable
As a little girl, I remember going through my mom’s jewelry box and often many of the costume jewelry pieces were ones from Avon. My favorite piece she had from them looked like a giant locket but contained solid perfume inside. This necklace looks like one my mom would have worn back in the late 70s/early 80s. I love the earthy tones and the mod style of the pendant itself. This piece is rather lightweight due to the plastic/ resin charms and snake chain. This necklace will pair perfectly with vintage ensembles or add a touch of nostalgia to more modern items from your closet!
Leather Wildlife Bag – Retail Value Unavailable
Holy Nostalgia, Batman! This purse takes me back to being a kid in the late 80s/early 90s! I feel like these painted leather bags were everywhere along with abstract leather patchwork bags. The colors on this bag are gorgeous and I love the jungle design complete with fuscia elephants! This leather shoulder bag has a zipper enclosure and also includes a matching ID case. This bag will bring a Pop Rock explosion of color and sass to any outfit!
Beaded Cluster Earrings – Retail Value Unavailable
Generally, I don’t go for the color brown, but I appreciate these beaded button earrings. These bead cluster button earrings consist of a variety of browns and gold in its color palette; this pair will complement any earth or warmly toned ensemble well. They are the epitome of autumn! They also have postbacks instead of a clip on.
FYI News Broach Set – Retail Value Unavailable
This pin set automatically made me think of the iconic, 90s feminist icon and fictional newscaster, Murphy Brown (played by Candice Bergen). She would often wear bold scarves around her neck or blouses buttoned all the way with a broach or pin near the top button. These lovely gold-toned broaches can be worn individually or together for a boldly assertive statement. Instead of big, Go, Murphy, or Go Home!
Plaid Floral Scarf – Retail Value Unavailable
I am quite the fan of a good scarf. You just can’t go wrong! I love the reds, oranges, and yellows in this nylon scarf, but it feels more fall to me, especially paired with this brown dress from my latest CHC Vintage box (review coming soon!). This could pair with a gorgeous yellow summer dress and flats or in the fall with a big orange sweater and jeans. Pile on the orange and yellow, I say!
Verdict: This month definitely had some unique pieces! I don’t know if I would have selected some of them for myself while thrifting, but I do feel that Nicole and her team definitely had me in mind when they selected these! The necklace and purse were probably my favorites of the bunch. CHC is definitely a box I look forward to monthly because you never know what you will get! I love vintage pieces and going thrifting, but I appreciate how convenient this service is; you don’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn to hit up an estate sale or flea market! I am eager to see what will be in my July box!
