Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Review

There are box variations, and sometimes rather heavy product promotion, so you may not always get the same box as someone else or be able to make the connection to weight loss for each product:

The information cards are now generic rather than describing your items.

There are usually coupons (which may or may not be for items in the box), product literature, advertisements for other subscriptions, etc.

Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Party Pal

Party Pal, 3 tablets – Buy 5, 3-tablet Packs for $11.95

This item is supposed to promote natural hangover relief. It has some B vitamins and vitamin C and some plant extracts including dried banana puree (?) as well as succinic acid and fumaric acid, which are intermediates in the tricarboxylic acid cycle that is part of cellular respiration (in other words, already present in every cell of your body). At any rate, I don’t get hangovers because I don’t drink, so I’m just going to pass this along to someone who might get more use out of it.

I received this same item last month.

Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Acne

Earth’s Care Acne Spot Treatment, 0.1 oz x 2 – Buy 0.97 oz for $14.99 (found here for $10.56)

This is something I can use right now. Last month I had bronchitis and an eye infection and I just didn’t try at all beyond basic face washing and showering and abandoned almost all skincare, and my face broke out as a result. This contains sulfur, which can help fight blemishes, and also it has bentonite (can absorb excess oils) and colloidal oatmeal (which may be soothing to the skin). I can say after one use that it is not an overnight miracle worker, but there is enough here that I can use it for a week or two (I got two more packets in the regular version of Bulu Box) and see how it goes.

This item also appeared in the regular Bulu Box this month.

Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Axia3

Axia3 Prodigestive, 4 tablets – Buy 45 Tablets for $14.99

This is vegan so I am keeping it around for now. I can’t say whether this cures heartburn or how fast it works because I only get heartburn maybe once every 2-3 years. This has a lot of enzymes (which may help aid with digestion) as well as sodium and calcium. Please note, although some antacids are safe to give to your dog (like plain Pepcid, which Nyx gets every day for her IBD), this one contains xylitol so please keep it away from pets.

This item also appeared in the regular Bulu Box this month.

Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Styr

Styr Labs Multivitamin, 1 packet – Buy 30 Packets for $29

This is vegan/vegetarian and gluten-free. I do have to admit, I am happy seeing more vegetarian samples lately. This has a fruity flavor and is supposed to be mixed into 12-16 ounces of water. Please note, you are supposed to finish it off within 10 minutes of mixing, so you can’t just dump it in a water bottle and drink throughout the day. I know that multivitamin pills can be quite large and difficult for some people to swallow, and although I personally would prefer to take a pill, this could be an option for some people. This has a fruity flavor although there is a “vitamin” undertaste that you can’t quite get rid of. I suppose there’s nothing stopping you from putting this in a smoothie instead of water. It might get hidden better under those circumstances.

This item also appeared in the regular Bulu Box this month.

Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 B12

MegaFood B12 Energy Ginger Gummies, 2 count – Buy 90 Gummies for $22.59 (found here for $20.33)

The regular Bulu Box had vitamin C gummies from this same brand. At any rate, these are vegan so I tried them. I never know if I am actually getting energy from B12 but this did include a little sugar (B vitamins seems to work best in conjunction with carbohydrates). This had a ginger flavor, which did effectively hide the “vitamin” flavor I often get from B-containing products. I don’t really need a daily B12 supplement since my regular multivitamin has me covered, but if you are looking to supplement, these are low in calories and work for a lot of specialized diets.

Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Protein

Plantfusion Phood 100% Whole Food Meal Shake in Vanilla, 1 serving – Buy 31.8 oz for $69.99 (found here for $44.99)

This has protein, vitamins, superfoods, omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, probiotics, greens, and fiber. So it actually would be a decent meal replacement (maybe could stand to have a little more fat, but you could always add a tablespoon or two of coconut oil, or use a fatty milk product when you blend this up). The directions say to add this to a cold beverage and mix for about 5 seconds, but for me, that doesn’t cut it as plant-based protein doesn’t dissolve all that well in water, I have found. I add a small amount (not a full serving) to much more liquid than recommended and use an immersion blender! But I still prefer adding to smoothies, where powderiness isn’t as apparent. Anyway, the vanilla flavor is decent and will work with a lot of other ingredients so after tasting a sample, the rest is going into smoothies. This is a new brand for me.

Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Garcinia

Alfa Vitamins Garcinia Cambogia Plus, 2 powder packets – Buy 30 Packets for $28.99

Apologies for the photo, I thought it was quite strange how the packets were stuck (and stuck hard) on the card, at that angle, but I realized later they were supposed to appear to be poured into the glass drawn on the card. I did mix this up to taste and it is not bad; there is a bit of an undertaste that may be the Garcinia, but since I have not taken Garcinia cambogia before, I can’t say that for sure. I didn’t know Garcinia cambogia was still a thing after Dr. Oz got questioned about weight loss supplements in front of a Senate panel (if you can find the video it is great to watch, especially if you don’t care for Dr. Oz, but it was four years ago and it’s a bit hard to find) but at least this is not a stimulant and people have been taking it for years, so it’s unlikely to cause harm even if it isn’t particularly effective. I do think this is an appropriate product for the weight loss version of this box and is the kind of thing I would expect to receive in a weight loss-oriented box.

Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Balm 1 Bulu Box Weight Loss July 2018 Balm 2

Southern Beekeeper Boo Boo Antibacterial Ointment, 6 mL – Buy 2 fl oz. for $5

This is a beeswax balm intended to be used topically. Beeswax has some antibacterial properties and can also fight chapped skin (which would make this a better winter item, but I digress). This also has some herbs to stop bleeding and minimize bruising. I don’t have any open cuts right now but I will keep this on hand for cat scratches and bites (after washing them out very thoroughly, of course). I get a lot of cat scratches and bites due to administering various medications.

Verdict: There were eight samples this month. If you paid full price for this subscription, you paid about $1.25 each. I have the $5 for life deal, so I paid about half that or $0.63 per sample. I was pleased with the number of vegetarian supplements this month, but I would not count on receiving vegetarian or vegan samples every month. I was also pleased to see a sample that directly relates to weight loss as sometimes it is hard to relate the box contents to that goal.

I’d strongly recommend using our MYSUB799 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both since there is a lot of product repetition between the two. (In fact, this month’s Bulu Box Weight Loss version had four overlapping products with the regular Bulu Box.) Please also note that instead of getting points you can redeem for merchandise if you review your samples, now you get sweepstakes entries, which isn’t as good of a deal (unless you are the winner…). It’s partly because they stopped selling most of the samples in their shop and instead send you to Amazon (with a referral link).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, July would be your first shipment. Also, keep in mind that there are variations in the boxes, so your box might not be exactly like mine in any given month.

Coupon - Use our coupon code MYSUB799 to get your subscription at $7.99 per month, for the lifetime of the subscription!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $10 + free shipping, which means that each of the 8 items in the box has an average cost of $1.25.

I dont understand this box at all. Why would you pay for a box of what looks like a bunch of free samples you get at drug stores?

Received my box and it was slightly different than yours. I received, for the most part, the same box.. but I didn’t receive the beeswax balm, instead I received a packet of ginger chew candies by Chimes. They are gluten free and vegan. According to the nutrition label, there are about 10 pieces of candy in it. So, they seem interesting. Like you, I don’t drink so the hangover tablets are of no use to me and I don’t get heart burn, so those are no use to me, but I can find someone to give both samples too. I’m not complaining as I had a coupon to make each box $7.99 a month for life.. I just wish there was a short survey (possibly just asking if you drink, etc)/profile to better customize them. As one of the reasons I stopped getting the box the first time around was because they sent me a box one month where almost everything was something I wouldn’t use.

I also got the chews and not the balm. I ended up cancelling the box this month because its just a lot of stuff I don’t use/want.
