Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you initially sign up, you take an in-depth survey that asks you about your clothing size, personal style, and price preferences. They also ask you a few questions about your pregnancy such as due date and how you like to style your bump. Your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences within the survey. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping as well as free returns. If you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!

Stitch Fix Maternity Clothing Box June 2018 Review

Stitch Fix Maternity June 2018 return

Each box comes with a free return bag. All you have to do is package up anything you want to return and send it back. Super easy!

This month Stitch Fix included an information card focused on gift giving! This could be a great gift for a recent graduate.

This is the invoice that was sent in the box. As you can see, it provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items. My total came to $242, but with the 25% off (which they take off BEFORE deducting the $20!) and the $20 credit, my total drops down to $161.50. That’s a savings of $80.50 on these items.

This is the included style sheet which includes a note from my stylist. This is always super helpful to see how you can use each piece in a full outfit! I am almost 5 months pregnant, chasing around an active toddler, so I need light and easy pieces to keep me cool in the summer. Let's see what Stitch Fix sent!

Bailee Maternity Scoop Neck Fitted Knit Dress, Size L - Cost to Keep $54

I would have loved this dress for my first pregnancy but not so much now. I did make a note for my stylist this month that I live in maxi dresses, unfortunately, I did not receive one this month, but I live in them because I am chasing after a toddler outside all day. I need something light and airy, so a looser fit and longer length allow me to feel comfortable running around the park and sitting in the grass. While this dress is soft with lots of stretch from the spandex blend fabric, it just was not for me. I am not a fan of scoop neck cuts, and the dress was incredibly tight, not to mention so short!

Fairen Maternity Knit Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $38

This top was ok, the fit was good and it had lots of stretch to it. I just do not like the color or the neckline. It doesn't feel like anything that I would wear. I like to keep my basics to black, white, or grey (totally a personal preference). I wish I had more to say about this top, but there doesn't feel to be anything exciting about it.

Mira Maternity Skinny Jean, Size 14 - Cost to Keep $78

These jeans are great! The belly band doesn't come up as high as some maternity bottoms I have, but they still feel secure. They are a soft polyester/spandex blend so they have a ton of stretch to them. I don't typically wear skinny jeans in such a light color, but I thought these worked well! I am returning these though because it gets super hot and humid where I live, above 80 most days, and I spend most of my days outside with my son. I am just not in the market for jeans right now, and by the time the baby comes, I will not (hopefully not really) be in maternity jeans.

Celestia Wrapped Circle Pendant - Cost to Keep $28

This gold pendant necklace is cute. It doesn't have an adjustable clasp so you can't change the length at all, and it is rather long. I typically do not wear longer necklaces now because they just get in the way, and I definitely won't when the new baby arrives because they just grab at them. The piece seems to be very well-made so worth the price, and it has a very artisanal feel to it which I love! Just not my overall style and not something I need.

Stapleton Bow Back Maternity Knit Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $44

Another top that just fell short for me. I don't like the color and the bow is not my style at all. The top is soft and has a great amount of stretch. So many scoop neck styles this month! The overall cut and fit are just not for me, but I think this would be cute on the right person. It is a fun basic style that you can wear anytime while being comfortable.

The Verdict: This month's Stitch Fix was a big miss, unfortunately. I have been updating my Pinterest board and have left comments for my stylist, but I am just not seeing my style in any of these maternity boxes. I have had better luck getting new summer pieces this year by looking online than I have in the few Stitch Fix boxes I have gotten so far. Each of the pieces was either not my style or not anything that I am in need of. I do continue to leave a note that I am a full-time mommy so I need pieces that I can wear outside with my son. That dress and the jeans were a huge reason why I feel as though my stylist is not paying close enough attention to my notes from month to month. I really wanted this month to work as I am leaving for the beach soon but I returned everything. I will continue to add more to my board and leave detailed comments in hopes that next month's box will be an improvement.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $242. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all 5 items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $161.50. That’s a discount of around 33% for these items!
