Special Delivery From Taste of Home Spring 2018 Review

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - information

Inside you will find an information card with a special note from the Taste of Home Test Kitchen. This month's note is all about the spring season and everything that comes along with it! On the back, you will find a detailed list of each product featured in the box. Plus, this month came with a 20% off coupon code at shoptasteofhome.com!

Let's take a look at what is inside!

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - healthy cooking cookbook Taste of Home Spring 2018 - healthy cooking cookbook 2

Taste of Home Cookbook: Healthy Cooking - Retail Value $17.99 (found here for $14.36)

Each quarter you will receive this giant Taste of Home Cookbook! I love collecting these cookbooks because they are filled with so many fun and interesting recipes. This book is great because it comes with a section for 30-minute meals and kid friendly dinners, among other chapters. I am always looking for quick, inexpensive meals to cook for my family, but I don't want to skimp on the healthy side of my recipe. I already am planning on cooking two meals that I fond in this month's cookbook!

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - book stand Taste of Home Spring 2018 - bookstand 2

Kitchen Envy Recipe Stand

This recipe stand is extremely handy to have around, especially since cookbooks seem to be on the larger side. I already have a beautiful wooden stand that I got for Christmas a few years back so I don't really have a huge need for another. Since this item is so nice and a great quality kitchen item, I am going to gift it to one of my friends that just moved into her first house.

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - zoodle Taste of Home Spring 2018 - zoodle open

OXO Good Grips Hand-Held Spiralizer - Retail Value $14.95

Zoodles are all I see around now and I love eating them! I have never prepared my own spiral vegetables though, I just always buy the pre-spiraled packages at the grocery store. I can't wait to use this hand-held spiralizer though that will allow me to make super fresh zoodles. I love making them as a side dish or in place of pasta. My Mom will often make zoodles with shrimp, tomatoes, and olives for a quick dinner so I am going to have to give that a try now that I have this handy tool!

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - lemon spritzer

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - lemon spritzer open

Lekue Citrus Sprayer - Retail Value $9.99

Who knew that a citrus sprayer existed?! I sure didn't! All you have to do is screw the top into any fresh lemon, lemon, or orange and then bam the spritz will bring out all of those citrus juices. You can use this to spray onto a salad, fish, or even over a pasta dish to give it a little jazz. I have only used this tool once, but it says that it is dishwasher safe so hopefully it will have staying power.

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - coffee

Amora Coffee Elegante Blend

This coffee has a wonderful sweet smell to it that hits you once you open the sample-size bag. This blend is made with chocolate, caramel, and spice. It really tastes like a sweet treat rather than a cup of coffee to me so you don't really need any sugar and very little cream. I could see this being great for a quick pick-me-up and sugar burst in the afternoon or to pair with your favorite dessert.

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - granola Taste of Home Spring 2018 - granola open

Bob's Red Mill Granola Cinnamon Raisin, 12 oz. - Retail Value $4.29

I love granola so much so I knew that this bag wouldn't last long in my house! I have been eating it straight out of the bag, sprinkled in yogurt, or with honey and banana. This was a lovely and unexpected treat.

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - pink sea salt Taste of Home Spring 2018 - pink sea salt back

My Spice Sage Himalayan Pink Salt, 1 oz. - Retail Value $5.00

This is an expensive bag of salt but totally worth it! This salt is hand-mined in the Himalayan mountains and contains 84 natural minerals. This would be great to use on pretty much anything! A pinch here and there, a heavier hand to cover some fresh cut fries, or something you could use to encrust some fish before grilling. My husband was way too excited when I showed him this bag and is already planning on how to use it!

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - stress ball

Stress Ball

I have never used a stress ball before but I probably should! Cooking, cleaning, life, in general, can be very stressful so this is something useful to have around. I might even put this in our office to have on hand for whenever my husband or I are working and need a little stress relief or distraction.

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - envelope

Taste of Home Spring 2018 - recipe cards Taste of Home Spring 2018 - recipe cards 2 Taste of Home Spring 2018 - recipe cards 3

Special Delivery from Taste of Home Recipe Cards

Each quarter you will also receive an envelope of seasonal recipe cards! I received a total of six this month, all with fresh recipes for the spring. You can also use some of the items that were in this month's box to cook each recipe. Each recipe ranged from difficult to easy so you can always pass along any that you decide aren't for you and keep any that you love or want to test.

Verdict: Special Delivery from Taste of Home is always a fun box to receive! Since it is a quarterly box, it gets me excited for the new season and all of the fresh recipes I can cook. To be honest, I love to cook, but I don't have a ton of gadgets or fancy tools to use while I cook. So this box is a great way to build my kitchen tools while still receiving fun recipes, a cookbook, and some snacks all in one! I would recommend this box to anyone that loves to cook or something that is interested in learning more about how cooking for the season!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, you can pre-order the summer box now!

Value Breakdown: At $44.95 for this box, I received a total of 9 products (not including the recipe cards, but counting the coupon code since it is listed on the product sheet). This is an average of about $5 per item. For high-quality kitchen products, this box is such a great value!

The coupon code does not work.

I love my spice sage too. Their spices are so fresh. I am curious to know how the handheld zoodler works? Is it easy to use?

Thanks for your post! Honestly, it is a bit harder than I thought it would be, and it doesn’t make a ton at once. You basically put a slice of veggie in the top green half and then twist. I think the larger spiral gadgets would work much better, especially if you want to do a lot at once.

I just want to say – I LOVE The Spice Sage; it’s the only place I buy spices from nowadays. They ship fast and everything is super fresh. You also reminded me I need to order more pink salt. lol
