PinkSeoul Mystery Box Review

Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream, 3.3 oz - Retail Value $32

I am always excited to open a box and see full-sized skincare, and I thought the outer packaging was beautiful with the navy box and cream labels. The packaging of the jar itself is lovely as well, and I am happy this is so large (most of the full-size moisturizers I get are around 1.7 oz). This moisturizer is specifically for those with sensitive, oily, or acne-prone skin (which is definitely my face), and it has a very light texture that soaks into your skin quickly. Since Baton Rouge has been hanging out in the high 90’s with 70% humidity, I have been a hot and sweaty mess and cannot stand any type of moisturizer that leaves me feeling greasy. This moisture cream perfectly hydrates my skin without leaving my skin feeling heavy, and my skin didn’t get greasy later in the day. This is now my new morning moisturizer!

Huxley Secret of Sahara Essence; Grab Water, 1.1 oz - Retail Value $58

Yay to more full-size skincare, double yay for more beautiful packaging, triple yay for high priced beautifully packaged full-size skincare! This glass bottle has a beautiful weight to it and really allows the light blue color of the essence to shine through. If this looks familiar, that is because it was also included in the Birchbox x Vogue: Transformation box! This essence is like a thick serum—it really feels like thick water, and it isn’t runny at all. This grab water is made from prickly pears in the Sahara desert, which helps the serum (and in turn, helps your face) hold onto water all day so it doesn’t dry out. I was really intrigued when reading about this product because Huxley talked about how your skin can be as dry (or even more so!) in the summer as it is in the winter due to sweating and not being able to upkeep your skins hydration levels. I always feel like my skin is more difficult to work with in the summer, and so I am excited to regularly use this essence to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day without leaving me feeling oily or greasy (this absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft). This also has peppermint and grapefruit extract in it, so there is a slight cooling effect when you apply it which is something I always enjoy.

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser, 5.07 oz

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser, 5.07 oz - Retail Value $8

Nature Republic is a brand I am familiar with thanks to Koko Box, and I have generally been impressed with the results. This aloe vera cleanser has a slightly sweet scent that reminded me of a green jolly rancher, and it foamed up really nice when I was rubbing it in. When I rinsed it off my skin felt clean but not stripped or dry. I followed this cleanser with the essence and moisture cream, and though that was a few hours ago, I still keep touching my face because of how soft it is without being greasy.

Skinfood Hairband

Skinfood Hairband - Retail Value $7

This hairband is so FLUFFY. This is definitely the softest hairband I’ve ever felt, and it stretches enough to go around my big head without feeling tight. I love the oversized bow on this, too—it reminds me of floppy bunny ears.

SNP Diamond Essence Ampoule Mask,

SNP Diamond Essence Ampoule Mask - Retail Value $3

I received this mask in my March Mask box from Pink Seoul, and I was happy to see it again. This mask is easy to unfold and isn't too watery, which makes for a comfortable 20-minute mask experience. It doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky after removing it, which is always appreciated as well.

Manyo Factory Bifidalacto Intensive 10x Wrap Mask – Retail Value $6

I received this mask in my May Mask Box, and I unlike the SNP mask I wish I hadn't. I normally love hydrogel masks but the top portion of this mask is extremely ill-fitting on my face, so I can't stand to leave it on for more than a few minutes. This mask also has a faint chlorine scent, which isn't something I am a fan of.

The Verdict: This box promises at least a $60 value for the $35 purchase price, and that value was blown out of the water. I am so excited about my new moisturizer and the Huxley essence, and the hair band and the cleanser were winners for me as well. The only miss for me was the Manyo Factory mask, but that is a tiny part of an otherwise fantastic box. I calculated a value of $114, which is stellar. Great job, PinkSeoul!

The Wrap Up:

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Kris

I received the same box as the reviewer and I LOVE IT! I subscribe to the Pink Seoul Plus box and whenever they have a mystery box I always quickly order it and have NEVER been disappointed. When I order the mystery box I always leave my skin type and any skin concerns that I have and they always customize the box to fit my skin type/concerns! I love Pink Seoul!!

Oooh, I think I missed the part where I could leave my skin type when I ordered the mystery box. It sounds like I have the same skin type as Jessica, so hopefully next time I’ll get the same great box. 🙂

It’s good to know that the mystery boxes contain variants. This looks like a great box – but I would have to think that they purposefully sent MSA the best box for review purposes.

Honestly, a little part of me was thinking the same thing since it was sent for review purposes. 😉

I also got this mystery box, and instead of the headband, I got my 4th pink body sponge with a cute kitten sticking out of it (my friend who I’ve been gifting these too will love it), and instead of the Pyunkang Yul moisturizer (so sad I didn’t get this), I got 30-pair collagen & CoQ10 hydrogel gel eye patches from Petitfee. Everything else was the same. I’m so happy to have received that Huxley serum! While I would have loved to have received the Pyunkang Yul product, I’m still happy with my variants.

Oooh, a 30 pack of eye gels sounds nice! Glad the Huxley was also included.

I’m so bummed I didn’t get this box. Just for the Pyunkang Yul alone I would’ve ordered it! I’ve been dying to try the brand!

Wow great products. Impressive that they included such high value items. I’ll definitely try to grab the next mystery box they have.
