Orglamix June 2018 Box

Orglamix
2.8 overall rating
4 Ratings | 3 Reviews

Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more. Many of the items in the subscription will be unique to the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula).

They are now doing custom box prints every month and they’re quite pretty.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Orglamix June 2018 “Glamping” Review

This month’s theme is “Glamping.” That is reflected in the item names but also somewhat in the items, themselves.

Orglamix June 2018 Booklet 1 Orglamix June 2018 Booklet 2 Orglamix June 2018 Booklet 3

The box came with an information card detailing the items and theme for June. It also lists ingredients, which is nice since these items aren’t typically available in their online shop.

Orglamix June 2018 Balm 1 Orglamix June 2018 Balm 2

Glamping Color Balm – Listed Value $9

I have little stashes of lip balms all around the house and, even though this is colored, it’s probably going into one of those. The color isn’t overly dramatic when actually worn on my lips. This one might also work as a cheek stain if you have pale skin like I do (I have yet to try that as I only just thought of it). This is moisturizing at a suitable level for summertime.

Orglamix June 2018 Bracelet

Carabiner Bracelet – Listed Value $12

This says it is from Ransom + Bond although the style isn’t quite right for any of the Ransom + Bond bracelets I found online. It is definitely inspired by that style, though. At any rate, although this doesn’t really match my personal aesthetic in terms of everyday wear jewelry, the carabiner makes it functional for attaching things like a key or a holder for a roll of dog waste bags so that is how I will use it.

Orglamix June 2018 Bug Juice

Bug Juice Natural Insect Repellent – Listed Value $12

This is appropriate for a camping-themed box and also a useful summer item, in general. Although I would still probably wear something with DEET for going into my own backyard (which is kind of a jungle), this was great for eating outdoors or just walking around the neighborhood.  t has a strong herbal smell and needs to be applied fairly often – the directions note that this works via smell, so if you don’t smell it, it’s worn off.

Orglamix June 2018 Lotion

Great Outdoors Shea Butter Body Lotion – Listed Value $10

This is just a plain body lotion, if it is scented I didn’t even notice, but that is OK. This has an excellent texture for actually absorbing into the skin and is nicely moisturizing. If you plan to transport this container, you may want some extra protection like a zip-top baggie so it doesn’t end up all over your purse.

Orglamix June 2018 Shadow

“Glamouflage” Natural Eyeshadow – Listed Value $12.50

You’ll usually get at least one loose mineral pigment in the Orglamix box. These are nicely blendable and not too glittery (in my opinion, anyway) and they don’t irritate my eyes. The colors are almost always exclusive to the subscription box and usually nicely matched to the box theme (as was the case here). I’m not very adventurous with eye makeup, normally, so a neutral color like this comes in handy.

Orglamix June 2018 Swatches

Here are swatches of the balm and the eyeshadow.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $55.50 for the June Orglamix subscription box. The items this month were all exclusive to this box, so I had to rely a lot on the information card, but I think the values were at least consistent with similar items in the shop. This box was a little heavier on skincare (this subscription tends to alternate among color, skincare, and fragrance) but everything was seasonally appropriate and also worked well with the theme. I would also say this was a representative box for this subscription – you often get a tool or other non-makeup item (a cleansing mitt, or a brush, or an aromatherapy necklace, or a makeup applicator sponge, or once some fuzzy socks).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  No, this was June’s box and they say they ship around the 10th (in practice, it may be a week or two after that before the box actually ships), so you’d probably get the July (or maybe August) box as your first one.

  • Bracelet: $6.27
  • Bug Spray: $6.27
  • Lotion: $5.23
