CHC Vintage Accessories May 2018 Review
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card and the handy styling tips that were included.
Also included is paper with printed pictures of a CHC team member showing different ways to wear the scarf included. I will try to model this as well as she did, but dang—that is a tall order!
Snow Tiger Bracelet – Retail Value Unavailable
Nicole and her team know that I love anything Leopard/Tiger print, so it makes sense this bracelet was included. What cracks me up is I already own not one, but two similar bracelets like this. One that is exactly the same that I got at Kohl’s years ago, but I ain’t mad about it! It just shows that they really get what I dig! This clamp bracelet has enamel on it for the coloring of the tiger and opens so that you can put your wrist in it rather than sliding it on. I prefer clamp bracelets not only because they are easier to wear and take off, but also because I love the retro, classic style they have. This piece will up the sass in casual or formal ensembles alike!
Gold Plate Collar Necklace – Retail Value Unavailable
This necklace evokes visions of the show, Dynasty! I am visualizing Krystle Carrington wearing this with a top with a sparkly sweater with three shoulder pads protruding. This piece can be worn in a variety of ways that will bring a fierce touch to any modern day ensemble. I can imagine wearing it with an old band shirt, distressed jeans, booties, and a wide brimmed hat. I paired it and the other accessories with a classic black Karl Lagerfeld dress from my most recent Stitch Fix box (review coming soon!).
Snake Skin Bracelet – Retail Value Unavailable
This piece has a handmade quality, an elegant roughness. It pairs gorgeously with the gold necklace also included. This big bangle bracelet is thick and wooden but slides on rather well. I can envision wearing this with the gold necklace and gold slides from my most recent Shoedazzle review with a black bikini pool side. Bring me some Chi-Chi’s—I am vacation ready, baby!
Gold Amber Snake Ring – Retail Value Unavailable
This charming piece was a little extra that the CHC Vintage team included for me— thanks, guys! This piece fits in perfectly with the other gold accessories, especially the snakeskin bracelet. This ring is non-adjustable and has a gorgeous amber toned gem on the snake’s face that adds a further touch of warmth to the tone of this piece. I picture wearing this with layers of bangles, a black, deep v-cut bodysuit, tight dark denim skinny leg jeans, and my Bad Sandy wooden clog heels.
Leopard Print Scarf – Retail Value Unavailable
How cool is this? I absolutely adore this scarf’s print! I almost wish this fabric was big enough to make into a mini dress for me. How fantastic would that be? The design is gorgeously unique and the material is incredibly soft. Nicole and her team included pics of the various ways one can wear this scarf. The model and I are not remotely the same size, but it did give me some styling inspiration. This scarf will be fantastic for the pool and beach this summer, but it will also transition well into a layering piece in the fall and winter!
Gold Mesh Purse – Retail Value Unavailable
I love gold and glitz, so I obviously love this bag. This bag will pair wonderfully with a formal outfit or add a touch of glamour to a casual jeans and t-shirt combo. The gold mesh on this is slick and slinky. It grabs the light like a disco ball. It has a separate zipper compartment to store personal items and a button closure. The straps are thin, so be careful not to stuff your bag past capacity and add strain to straps.
Verdict: This month’s box was a success! CHC truly grasps my style and preferences and sends ultra-personalized boxes to me monthly. I am constantly impressed with the thoughtfulness of their selections. This month’s selections are cohesively glamorous with a rocker meets bohemian edge. A lot of the pieces can be worn together or alone. I sense I will be taking most of them on my upcoming trip, so thanks, CHC! You’re the real MVP!
