POPSUGAR Must Have Box Summer 2018 Review + Coupon

POPSUGAR Must Have is a lifestyle subscription box for women. Each season they send a mix of items from categories like beauty, fashion, food, fitness, and home.

(POPSUGAR recently switched from monthly to quarterly, and this is their first ever quarterly box!)

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: POPSUGAR Must Have

The Cost: $75 a box

COUPON: Use code MSA20 to get $20 off your first box!

The Products: “Must Have” items for women selected by POPSUGAR editors. (Fitness, Home, Beauty, Food, and more)

Check out all of my POPSUGAR Must Have reviews and the Women’s Subscription Box Directory!

Each box comes with a booklet detailing the items included, and a letter from Lisa Sugar:

This box is centered around the theme of self-care and a spa day at home.

And POPSUGAR also included a card with coupons for the brands featured in the box:

Now, on to the items!

Eberjey Wrap Robe – Retail Value $88

This robe was available in S/M (up to size 8) and L/XL (Size 10-18) and XXL (Size 20 and up). The fabric is 100% Rayon, and so very soft. Here is the S/M on:

I love the navy piping accent with the pale pink color. The robe has an inner tie to keep it in place, too:

As you can tell from the pictures, this fabric is somewhat sheer. Perfect for a summer weather robe!

Sunday Riley C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum – Value $85

This serum is designed to “fight the look of dullness, dark spots, and discolorations, while instantly increasing brightness, radiance, and luminosity.” The cream formula has a light citrus scent (which I love), and it instantly helped give my skin a boost of hydration.

I’ve sampled this before thanks to a few other subscription boxes, and after using it for months I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin – I’m happy to have more!

Mela Artisans Concha Round Box – Retail Value $60

This wooden round box features a stunning mother of pearl lid:

I was hoping POPSUGAR would send a home item in this spa/self-care themed box, and they delivered! I love that this would work in the bathroom or really any other room in the house!

The bowl measures about 5 inches in diameter. Here is a picture to give you a better sense of scale:

This is a quality piece – definitely one of my favorites in the box.

Lele Sadoughi Circle Garland Earrings – Retail Value $98

These earrings measure about 1/2″ diameter and 3″ long.

These earrings are inspired by confetti (so pretty) and they are made from natural stone and resin, connected by 14K gold plated rings.

Here is Marne modeling them for us!

(One thing to call out – I believe everyone is getting these earrings, there is no non-pierced ear version of the box.)

Beauty by POPSUGAR Be the Boss Lip Gloss – Retail Value $18

POPSUGAR recently launched a new beauty line, so I was expecting to see something from their brand in a future box!

This lip gloss formula is free of parabens, mineral oils, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and gluten. Plus it is vegan and cruelty-free!

The formula is pretty much everything I want in a gloss. A sheer color, a natural looking shine, and not too sticky. (And bonus points for having a Crème Brulee flavor!)

Here it is swatched:

Also, I always appreciate getting lippies in summer boxes that are OK for hot weather in my purse – no melting lipstick issues here.

(The box also included an info card about the new Beauty by POPSUGAR line.)

Sphynx 3 in 1 Portable Razor – Retail Value $14.99

This is a portable razor designed to go in your car, purse, gym bag, etc. – whenever you might need to shave and not have a shower + your regular razor and shaving cream ready!

Here’s how to use it. First, spray the area you need to shave with water:

(You’ll need to fill this with water when you first get it.)

Next, rotate the center dial to the moisturizing shave bar and apply it to the area you’ve sprayed with water:

Lastly, click to the razor side, and you’re good to shave:

And there’s an additional backup razor blade, too:

FYI – this isn’t designed to replace your regular razor blade, instead, it’s intended for quick touch ups and on the go shaving. I think it’s such a smart idea, and I love the design, too. Plus I’ve started the process of laser hair removal, so I no longer have to shave every day (life changing!) and this is perfect for touchups when needed!

Ahmad Tea Fruit & Herb Selection – Retail Value $4.50

As a several-cups-a-day tea drinker, I’m always happy to see in a subscription box. (Not sure if I’m in the minority on that, though!)

These are all-natural caffeine-free blends.

Peppermint & Lemon
Peppermint leaf, Lemon peel, Natural lemon flavor

Chamomile & Lemongrass
Chamomile leaf, Lemongrass

Lemon & Ginger
Lemon peels, Ginger, Apple, Lemongrass, Quinces, Hibiscus

Detox
Dandelion, Fennel, Birch leaves, Ginger, Rosemary, Peppermint, Nettle, Sweet blackberry leaves

As a lover of lemongrass and peppermint flavor teas, all these worked for me. I think the Peppermint & Lemon is my favorite, though.

Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon Verbena Bar Soap – Retail Value $3.99

I use Mrs. Meyer’s Multi-Surface Cleaners daily, so it was about time I tried their soap.

This gives you a creamy lather and works for hands and body. Just like their cleaning products, the scent is pretty strong with this soap.

Mrs. Meyer’s Lavender Hand Sanitizer – Retail Value $3.49

This item is a Special Extra from POPSUGAR and Mrs. Meyer’s. (It is not counted toward the total retail value of the box.)

I always have a hand sanitizer in my purse, and I may switch to this brand after sampling it. The spray goes on light and absorbs almost immediately. (And I love the lavender scent.)

Propel Watermelon Beverage Mix – 10 packets Retail Value $1.98

This item is a Special Extra from POPSUGAR and Propel. (It is not counted toward the total retail value of the box.)

This mix is sugar-free (it’s made with sucralose), zero-calorie, and designed to add electrolytes and vitamins to your water. I liked the flavor (think Watermelon Jolly Ranchers), and I typically buy electrolyte water for heavy-sweating workouts, so I’ll add these to the mix as an alternative.

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $372.48 (not counting the special extras). I think the value here is great, and what I would hope for in a $75 box from POPSUGAR. To be honest, when I first saw everything in the box, I wasn’t sure how all the items all fit the self-care/spa theme of the box. (The Lipgloss and earrings both seem like Girls Night Out theme to me). But I actually love everything, so I’m OK with the theme not connecting to every item perfectly. (Plus the robe, serum, and earrings are from high-end brands and each worth more than the cost of the entire box!)

I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect from the first $75 POPSUGAR Box, and it seems like a good balance between the past monthly boxes, and the Limited Edition boxes. A mix of some lower price point brands that would have been at home in the monthly box, and some pricey luxe brands that we’d only see in the Limited Edition boxes.

I’m still sad that we don’t get POPSUGAR every month, but I’m loving this box, and I’m already excited to see what will be in the fall box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  No, right now it looks like the Fall box will be your first box when you sign up. When you click “Subscribe Now” on the POPSUGAR site, the box your subscription will start with will be highlighted.

Coupon – Use coupon code MUSTHAVE5 to save $5

Value Breakdown: At $75 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Robe: $17.71
  • Serum: $17.11
  • Earrings: $19.73
  • Bowl with Lid: $12.08
  • Lip Gloss: $3.62
  • Tea: $.90
  • Soap: $.80

  1. I’ve never subscribed to this box not I ever wanted to, but this box is such a darling! I just bought mine on eBay for $22. Very happy!

    • *Mela Artisans box is a darling;))

  2. After receiving this box that I was sooooo hopeful for, I opened the lid and went “What the h—- is this?” First, I’ve been a PopSugar subscriber for a while and love each and every Limited Edition box I got. After PS changed to a quarterly schedule I just knew they would step up to this level. Not so. We essentially paid $75 for a bar of soap, hand sanitizer, and a disposable razor. I literally could’ve obtained those for $3 at the Dollar Store. Add to that Propel water, a lip gloss, earrings from the 99 Cent Store, and a robe that is nearly see-thru. Thanks, but no thanks. The best items were the mosaic box, and the Sunday Riley – but that’s shown up in every other sub box making it a ‘meh’ item. Where are the bath salts or bath bombs? Candles or sheet mask? Spa day curating FAIL.

  3. I never felt prompted to post but I hope Popsugar reads and takes note to most of us who are letdown here. Just opened my box and I too felt they’d try to wow us all because I think a majority of us liked Popsugar as a monthly box, as sadly they are getting more rare these days. Being a first box, yes it is a good “value” based on retail but I agree with others many of these seem a tad inflated. To me the box is a little confused between Golden Girl or Saved by the Bell (I’m looking at you 80s earrings!). The dish looks sorta acorn meets coconut to me and the robe I’d have preferred in reverse with navy/pink piping (too sheer to me – fabric/fit feels bad on). The lower priced items I do like but feel overall as a summer / spa box this is a little blah. I was more than happy with the way Popsugar was. Hopefully next month they bring back the seasonal fun I came to love them for. I miss my little treat each month even more now 🙁

  4. So disappointing… i actually subscribed annually and if I could get my money back for the future 3 boxes I would cancel it right away.

    What were they thinking?

Earrings are just horrendous, impossible to use!

    The robe is cheap…

and everything else (except the round box) looks like it has been put in the box as an evil joke!

Step it up Popsugar or you are going to lose us ALL pretty soon!

  5. The lady who made the earrings has the same pair but in Rose Quartz on her website, and they are so much prettier, muted and more cohesive looking. But still very long.
Price is the same as what we got.

I HATE that round razor so there are no words. It reminds me of one I used when I was a teenager. I don’t recall the name, but it cut the heck out of my legs. They were really popular in the 70’s ( without the water or soap inside).
I’m throwing mine away because of the bad memories of the white and pink one.

Also, that Mrs. Myers soap STINKS and my entire box smells like it. I HATE things that are way too strongly scented and to me, this smells like some sort of cleaning product. I will never buy that brand, and another box has been sending me tons of emails to get a free bundle of Mrs. Myers products to join. No way!

I love the MOP dish and have mine next to my cosmetics tray in my bedroom with cosmetic cotton rounds in it. SO handy. I really needed it and didn’t know it. 🙂
I have had robes from Eberjey before now and they’ve always been more substantial. IDK what happened to the quality but it’s not there now. NO pockets, NO lining in a paper thin robe? Not quality.
I have a great bamboo fiber black robe from Soma Intimates ( a shop close to malls and they have online ordering) that’s probably about the same overall thickness. But, it’s way less expensive and it is 100% better quality, not see through, has an attached belt which doesn’t twist, and has a very pretty shape and drape.

I think somewhere along the line, PSMH either lost a great deal of their former buying power, or they just stopped trying to curate to a theme. Hand sanitizer in a quarterly box?? Just TACKY.

And, I hate that type of tea. I live in a climate that is so hot most of the year, we drink cold beverages or no beverages at all.

I would have liked a voucher for a book or Kindle download, Bomba athletic socks like they sent in a monthly box years ago, candle, body lotion, foot creme since it’s sandal weather, deluxe brand shower/ bath creme.

Not sure I’m ever going to get another box without a LOT more spoilers!!! AND DISCOUNTS!!!

  6. I normally hate being negative about boxes.. but I have to say it! My favorite thing about this box.. was the box! 😂

    • Sam-I found it weird and eerie that it was black. I mean a summer box??? And it’s black? Maybe all of their boxes will be black. I’m just used to the seasonal changes with FFF boxes.

    • OMG… had the same thought

      • I loved the box too! I’m using it for storage in the top of my closet!
I love the Sunday Riley. But- can someone tell me—-do you use this and then use a moisturizer? Or is this in place of a moisturizer? I’ve researched it and cannot find a definite answer on how/with what it should be used. Tia

      • I use the CEO then my moisturizer. I love it! It smells great and does seem to have made my skin tone more even.

  7. so I didn’t get my robe! i reached out to CS but haven’t gotten a reply, is there a number I can call?

    • Some robes are being sent separately in June because they were out of stock and had to back order them.

      • thanks! so strange since I was able to select my size in the first round

    • I think it was for XL robes that were selected after a certain date,

  8. I was so excited about this box and it was just a super let down. I canceled my subscription! Not cool at all PopSugar!!!!

  9. To me this was the caliber of a “monthly” box. Nothing had the Wow factor for me. I liked the robe, it was very soft. Hope the next box is better.

  10. Was I the only person that misses the Sugar part of Popsugar? I don’t buy sweets at the grocery store so I always looked forward to what Popsugar sent. The propel definitely doesn’t count! I really like the robe even though it’s shear. It’s perfect for me in Arizona. And I love Sunday Riley! I was excited not to have to pay full price for this after falling in love with it from my Allure box. The lip gloss is wonderful and now I need to clear some room off my makeup counter for that cute mother of pearl jar. The tea is great too I just wish we had something sweet to eat with it.

    • Yeah! Where was the snack?😊

  11. I am so glad that I am not the only one who did not like this box. I came on here to just to see what everyone else thought and glad I did because now I am not the only one. I am happy about the razor but everything else is give away…hoping the next box is great but scared to lose 75 bucks again.

  12. I signed up because of all the hype that this was sold out and had to rush to secure fall box. I just received the summer box that I didn’t want. Not pleased at all

  13. I thought the boxes would get better now that Popsugar Must Have has switched to quarterly boxes and I thought the summer box would blow it out of the water, but I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the Popsugar Must Have summer 2018 box! Besides the robe, the serum, and those god-awful earrings everything else was under $5??? Price value alone I’m sure no one thought to themselves “What a steal” when they received those items in their boxes…I know I didn’t. I just finished customizing and selecting my add-ons for my summer 2018 box from Fab Fit Fun and I must say, I’m throughly excited! Unlike Popsugar Must Have, Fab Fit Fun lets members customize their boxes and select add-on products at a SIGNIFICANTLY discounted price! All for $40/quarter opposed to Popsugar’s
$75/quarter which includes none of those luxuries and underwhelming products. Glad I’m saving $75 every quarter now though, so it isn’t all bad!

  14. Finally got my box this weekend. I swapped the robe b/c I already have enough of those, but I was surprisingly happy about the little round box, what a lovely (and like Liz said, quality) home piece.

  15. I was definitely unhappy with the earrings (and I still think the RV is inflated), but I’m wearing them today and think they are so cute. I have understated makeup and outfit and they are a fun pop. I do think I need to coat the posts with nail polish though because they are already itchy. It’s weird that the post isn’t gold since the rings are.

    • I received my box yesterday. I’m excited about the Sunday Riley-I didn’t receive this item from Allure the way others had. Was not that impressed with the robe-expected it to be great due to brand/rv. Again, just my opinion but at most it’s just ok. The earrings are uglier on than they were in the picture. Could just be me, may look great on others. Either way, I canceled my subscription today and joined FFF last weekend. I’m locked in for a year with them and am very excited about this upcoming box. The add on sales with FFF are amazing-to day the least. I only received two boxes from pop sugar and both were just Meh. Hope the next one is better for their subscribers. I won’t be with them to find out and will no longer have FOMO with pop sugar. They cured me of that after just 2 boxes! 😂

      • **** to “say” the least. Dang auto correct 😆🤣

  16. But…but…where’s the awesome food item that PopSugar always includes?? :'( I want my snack!

  17. I love everything in the box except for the earrings. I wish they would have let us choose between different jewelry items. I have gauged ears and can’t wear earrings. So it’s a waste for me. 🙁

  18. I finally had a chance to go through the box and I still don’t think it’s worth $80, but it’s not all bad. The robe I purchased too small, but fits better than expected. It seems nice, but wouldn’t pay asking price. The Sunday Riley is the hero item for me. I received one in my Allure box and love it. Don’t get me wrong I would never pay asking price for it. I also really like how the bowl looks, though it feels more on the cheap side you can’t tell when it’s on display, again not worth asking price. I feel like I should eat the earrings, they look edible, probably should watch little ones around them. Next to the Sunday Riley my favorite item was the box itself I love magnetic closing boxes, the box will definitely be put to use.

  19. I really like this box! The robe, Sunday Riley, and container are great, and the extra items are useful too. Miss getting a fun snack though!

  20. I realize I am in the minority, but I love the box, especially the earrings! They look ridiculous at the current length, but it took me a mere 3 minutes and a pair of needle nose pliers to shorten them by 2 circles each, and now they look great! The box itself came to me the day before Mother’s Day and the robe was the perfect gift to myself. I am looking forward to the fall box for sure.

  21. I was actually surprised that I liked the box more than I expected, but still not what I expect for $75+. PS has some work to do to catch up to FFF’s summer box which far exceeded them at $50 with customization. For that matter BOS beat them as well so at least in my opinion they are dead last. With this being their 1st box it should have been better.. here is hoping that Fall is a big improvement. FFF improved drastically from a lackluster Spring box so lets hope that PS does the same!!

  22. I received my box today, and I should say I wasn’t happy at all when I saw the review, like literally just like the robe and the soap, the rest was useless for me.

When I first arrive ftom work and open the box, the first though was where is the sweet (I know it wasnt one on the box, but my subconscient just thought in my old favorite moment of open the box and have something yummy while I go through the items) so with this said I was so so disappointed, but after I started to try the items and I loved an much the robe and the earrings (completely unspected feeling about that item) that I was just happy about the box, I feel like I will use everything in the box (except the Serum because the reaction it give me in the past).
I hope more people have the same experience as me and find something they love in the box

  23. I am very disappointed that I spent $75 on this box. I bought based on the robe spoiler and the fact that it was a debut. Boy, am I sorry that I did. My husband is also not thrilled that I spent that much on a lot of junk. The robe looks pretty (haven’t tried it on yet.) But everything else is at my kindest *not my taste.* The earrings are almost insultingly bad. The box is meh and the rest of the stuff feels like freebies. PopSugar, why you so awful?

    • I agree with you on the terrible earrings. I just can’t believe that was their CHOICE for all of us.

  24. Just got my box and I’m disappointed, I like the robe and the serum but the earrings…..look like a craft project, and I don’t like the box either. It just seems like three “big”(high endish) items and a bunch of filler. I will be canceling. I wish I’d put my money towards BOS Summer box, I would rather have 5 quality items, than 2/3 and a bunch of random small items, but maybe that’s just me. If I could return this I would. I will look to either swap/consign earrings/box to try to get something back. I’ve been with PopSugar since 2002, and I’m sad to say good bye, there have been some really great boxes in the past. Plastic earrings? I just don’t know what to think.

  25. Sooo, in spite of my emailing them requesting help in mid April and requesting the small robe (I’m 5’1”) they send me the XL…. Frustrated that they are not making it right even after I forwarded my previous emails. Anyone interested in a swap? I’ve not even opened the packaging as there is simply no way I’d ever be able to is an XL. Poor customer service and this was the hero item that I can’t even use!

    • I emailed them about the robe I received in the wrong size and was told if I mailed back at my expense they would send correct size.

      • Me too! This is so lame. If they are just going to send whatever size they feel, we should at least have sizes in our profile so they can at least send the right size. They just sent me an L/XL which totally isn’t going to work, I’m a S/M. Any chance you need a L/XL? Hoping someone can swap with me!

  26. Was hoping for the pretty pink mug from the spoilers photo…always a tease. I’m seriously dissapointed in Pop Sugar…I like FFF better for significantly less $, and it’s customization rocks. I can’t wear earings, I don’t need a bowl I can buy for $7 at World Market, and the robe is cheap. The Sunday Riley and the tea is my only happiness.

  27. So, the robe that was supposed to fit size 10 to 18, doesn’t fit me..I’m a size 12. I have an email into them but I don’t hold out much hope of getting an exchange. It won’t even close for me!

    • What size did you get? I requested small and they sent me the XL. I never opened mine and will be happy to trade you since they are not being helpful at all when I email them.

  28. I think they could have saved this box with a better jewelry item. Earrings are a risk because not everyone has pierced ears (though I think the majority of people DO), but to include such LONG earrings on top of that…. and a RV of $98? There are so many better jewelry items one can get for $98. I have often felt like their jewelry items are leftover items that they get from companies at a huge discount, but these earrings seem to be, to me, far more into that camp than any of the other jewelry items. I am ok with that in a cheaper monthly box but not in this higher priced version. I’m glad some people like them, but if polled, I think these would have a super low satisfaction rating compared to past jewelry items. There just doesn’t seem to have been as much thought in this box as in past LE boxes.

  29. I waited to make my opinion until I got my box. It came quite smelly with a leak from the lavender hand sanitizer. Will let tg know that . I also ordered some add ons whichi liked. The cards were beautiful! Very unusual and the 31 bits bracelet was fun! Made with paper and wood beads. The nail products were high quality and needed. Loved the robe! A bit shear but will use it ! Beautiful bowl! Loved the earrings… they broke apart taking them from cardboard tube. (No box or jewerly bag? Which gave me idea to shorten them and use the rest of the beads for adding them to my 32 bits bracelet. Soap was lovely and fresh! Razor different and will try it. I loved the lip gloss color and product. I liked this box and sent one to my sister for a get well gift. I’m curious to see how she likes it…. as a first time pop sugar girl! I think I can honestly say that it gave me items that I never would have purchased for myself and I feel pampered.

  30. I received my box today. Although I have already cancelled any future boxes, I could still be persuaded to resubscribe. The robe is a very sheer robe but it’s exactly what you would want for the summer time and feels super soft. I’ve never tried the Sunday Riley CEO, I’m looking forward to that. The earrings are actually super cute and very lightweight! The little bowl is gorgeous! The razor kind of reminds me of the old flicker razor and really is pretty cool. The other stuff I could have done without. I still wish there had been more Spa related selfcare items in there.

  31. Got my box today and while I wasn’t super excited when I first saw the spoilers, I was pleasantly surprised at how pretty the mela bowl is! The lid is absolutely gorgeous! The lip shade is lovely and I think it will be flattering on many complexions. The earrings are a little beyond my comfort zone but sometimes a little push is a good thing. I hope everyone finds something they enjoy!

  32. How is Popsugar on responding to people with missing items in their box? I received my box today and I was missing the earrings. 😔 While I wasn’t super stoked about them…………..I still wanted to get them and try, maybe they would be better on. I emailed them about it but no response yet. Has anyone ever had a missing item from their box? Other than that the box was great. So excited for some more Sunday Riley.

  33. Just got my box today and I love it!! The earrings are really cute and soo light on the ears. That was my main concern when I first saw them, but they’re perfect for this time of year!! I never love EVERYTHING in a sub box (& I get 14 of them), and I dont expect to, and I cant begin to imagine trying to please thousands of subscribers with each box! Seriously??!!! LOL!! but theres something for everyone in this box. That’s one of the great things about PopSugar! The one and ONLY down side is that I couldnt get the robe in my size. I wrote to them several times to inquire, and they always responded, but sadly, they couldn’t get the larger sized robe. So, I’ll gift, trade, or sell it. IMHO…..the value of this box far outweighs the cost, and getting that surprise every time is just AMAZING!! I still miss my monthly box though lol! Well done PS!

  34. Soooo disappointed that my robe wasn’t included in my box- I had an XXL and picked the size before they sold out and they put a note saying it would be shipped end of June since I chose when they restocked- even though I didn’t. I emailed CS about my disappointment- they should have let subscribers who chose right away know that it wasn’t going to be included.

  35. This wasn’t a bad box. Everything is usable (except the earrings since I can’t wear earrings) and I enjoyed opening the box and looking through everything. Each thing will get used!

  36. So I received my popsugar box today, was so excited to get it, and now I’m pissed off because they included a card that said since I selected an XXL robe during the second round of inventory, I’m not receiving it until June. Except that I selected it when the first spoiler was released, WAY BEFORE they ran out of XXL. Such BS. I wish I would have been notified of this sooner.

  37. I don’t think this box is terrible, but it’s definitely average. I really like the razor, drink tea every day and the lip gloss, soap, hand sanitizer and Propel is not exciting, but will be used. I just think the value for money with the higher valued items is not there at all – like, I usually like bigger earrings, but these are not resonating with me (especially for a retail of $98). The robe is nice, I guess, but doesn’t seem $88 worth and the Sunday Riley has been featured in so many cheaper boxes already. The round box is okay, but overall, definitely meh. I might stick around for fall to see what’s coming, but it’s not a very good start so far.

  38. Pros: no blow-up swans, hats, wraps, towels or sea spray
Cons: soap, hand sanitizer, electrolyte stuff, razor, and the earrings. ( Just because Nordstrom sells something at a ridiculous price doesn’t make it appealing.)
Robe is ok and I was disappointed until I opened the trinket box. Nice to have handmade item enclosed and it really is beautiful.
My fav now is VineOh. The extras are fun, chocolate wine glass?!?! And, of course the 🍷.

    • I just signed back up for Vine Oh and impressed at how fast they shipped my box.

  39. Just got my box. Instead of a robe, I got a postcard saying that mine won’t be sent to me until the end of June.
It says because I picked my size during the “second round of inventory “.
I made my size choice the minute I got the email so I don’t know how that could be. I find this really annoying.

    • Same! I’m really upset my robe wasn’t included, especially since I made my choice right away.

      • Dang, that is so disappointing. I’d be bummed if I opened the box and it didn’t include the robe. I don’t think I really understand how they let this happen, given that the quarterly format should give them more lead time to coordinate these types of things? You can understand with a monthly box that hiccups like this might happen.

  40. Did anyone else get charged for two boxes? I got the Black Friday three month deal and didn’t know that that would roll over into automatically getting the quarterly once they switched their business plan, so I bought the summer box in March. Then I got a second notice yesterday for the tracking for my second box, and, sure enough, there was a second $75 charge on my card. When I emailed customer service, they said they had sent out “several” emails over the past few months explaining to subscribers that they would get the summer box unless they opted out. Thanks to gmail, I was able to go and scroll through my emails, and there isn’t ONE email saying that. Guess I’m going to have to call AmEx to fix. This box is fine, but sure don’t want two of these boxes, especially when one of the robes is 3 times too big for me.
I see Popsugar circling the drain, folks.

  41. I love the way this robe feels. I’m in South Florida and it’s already in the 80s today, yet it’s so comfortable. The perfect robe for summer. The rest of the box is ok, but I am thrilled to get something that I can use.

  42. Wow, there really seem to be mixed reviews for this box. I have to say, I definitely was slightly let down from this box. To be honest, I enjoyed/found just as much value in the monthly boxes. So for double the price I definitely expected more items. Granted the earrings, robe, and serum have such high value to them, but still. Ironically, my earrings were the favorite part of the box (I can see I’m in the minority with that thought). Statement earrings are really in right now! And these are easy to match with. You can wear it with something white or with any of the color specks in the earrings. FabFitFun’s earrings in their Spring Box were a NIGHTMARE and valued at $50 and were so cheap looking whereas these look value and beautiful. When I saw the robe spoiler, I was let down, but when I actually received it – it was so soft and light and felt so luxury. I already have two robes but can’t wear them in the summer since they’re too warm and heavy, so honestly this is perfect. I liked the serum because I just ran out of mine from the Allure box. I can see how this is a huge let down since it was in a $15 beauty box. The conch shell was pretty. The sanitizer, soap, and propel water all seemed incredibly random and the theme wasn’t there. I just was expecting a little more of a show for their first quarterly box and self-care is a pretty easy theme to fulfill. I’m going to stay subscribed until Fall and see if they improve. Don’t let me down, Popsugar! You were my favorite subscription box 🙁

    • I haven’t received my box yet but your comment is making me look forward to it more. Thanks for giving the positive and negatives about it. I had already decided to stay subscribed for fall too.

    • I agree! I’m pretty pumped about any serum. The robe is cool, and the dish I will definitely use. I just wish the other items were a little more fun! But I think with all this negative feedback that ps will get thier quarterly game together. The cause box has so much more to offer from thier spring box. Better attire, earrings ,makeup, and lifestyle all around and there box is only 49.99. Ps has some work to do

  43. I got my box today. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised by the robe. It fits my large frame. Does anyone know if this material can survive a washing machine, there is no way I will have wash it.

Other than that, the box is a miss for me, which was okay back in the day of 12 boxes as year. But, with 4 a year there isn’t room for a box that’s a miss. 😕

I oddly feel a fun food item could have saved the box for me. But herbal tea? I would say that’s a miss for a ton of people.

  44. My box is missing the robe!! I went on Twitter to see if anyone else got a box with no robe, and there are a bunch of reports from today about the company laying off 19 people… so, sounds like PopSugar is about to tank. Might be why this box is such a dud.

    • They said they are sending a lot of the XXL robes separately, because the order is coming in June. Is it a different size?

      • Ahh – thank you for letting me know!

  45. Those earrings aren’t my taste, but I don’t hate them. I just can’t wear them! This is a lesson I thought Popsugar had already learned in the past.

I recall them including earrings in a box a couple years ago, and all the subscribers without pierced ears were upset. Then they included Kendra Scott earrings OR a necklace in another month’s box depending on whether you had pierced ears or not, and everyone was so happy!

Surprised to see them revert back to this mistake that upset so many people. Especially since they’d debuted the site functionality for subscribers to make selections for sizes and metal tone preference. You’d think it would have been easy enough to give people the choice between earrings or some other type of jewelry (especially with the longer lead time for their editors to work with brands to curate products).

With the price increase, you just have to get these types of things right now. There’s no longer room for these types of easily avoided curation errors. This comes down to a choice. They definitely discussed this around a conference room table and someone said, “Meh, we don’t care if people are disappointed. We’re featuring these earrings.”

With that said, I don’t think this box is a total miss. With subscription boxes, I understand I won’t love everything and some things won’t be my taste. I’ll use most of what’s in this box. I just think Popsugar needed to knock it out of the park with this first quarterly box, and they didn’t. To me, this didn’t feel like much more than their monthly boxes.

  46. Honestly, I look at this as getting $10 off my all time favorite serum (<3 Sunday Riley), so I have a backup, plus the cute robe. And I love the little box. I don't have pierced ears, but the rest evens it out. Not sure if I'll use the lower end stuff, but I'm happy with the high end stuff.

  47. This box was a huge let down. I may give them one more chance, but I’m unsure. Thin robe, World Market type bowl, and the earnings were so not me. Ladies…we could have more fun at Marshall’s on $75.

    • $75 at Marshalls. I could make 2 boxes this good!

    • 😂😂😂 true!!!! We could really have a whole cart 🛒 of spa products in Marshalls with $75

  48. Ugh. I mean. It’s fine. Sure- I’ll use the robe, the bowl, and the serum and the extras, but there’s nothing that got a reaction beyond “meh” here aside from the razor (that’s actually a nifty thing to keep in my desk). The earrings are… oof. Maybe for a music festival or a costume party? But in what world are they that expensive? I expected so much more from PSMH going to a quarterly box, and after seeing the FFF spoiler today (Um. WOW.) it’s time to officially break up. Goodbye, PSMH, it’s not me. It’s you.

  49. Lele Sadoughis jewelry is sold in Antropologie and I think their adorable. This is my first Popsugar box and I’m pretty freaking pumped!! Pairing these earrings with a white tee, distressed boyfriend jeans and pumps! I wish they were sending out different styles so I could snap them up from everyone that doesn’t like them😂

  50. I’m definitely still looking forward to getting this, but after seeing FFF’s first spoiler, it seems they will be the winner this summer! Maybe PSMH will hit it out of the park this fall, but I don’t think I’ll stick around to see. This is a good box, just not $25 better than FFF.

    • I’m disappointed by this box too. But, I must say PS has always had the absolute best boxes in the Fall months. So..maybe it will be good 😬.
