New Beauty Test Tube is a bi-monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Every other month they send you a tube full of deluxe and full-size beauty samples and you also get a digital subscription to New Beauty Magazine. It’s a little pricier than other beauty subscriptions, but in general, the value is usually great.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: New Beauty Test Tube

The Cost: $29.95 a box plus $8.95 shipping (ships every other month)

The Products: Deluxe and full-size beauty products. (This subscription also includes a subscription to New Beauty Magazine).

Ships to: US only

Check out all my New Beauty Test Tube reviews, and the Beauty Subscription Box List!

Each box comes with a booklet that details every item included.

Now, on to the items!

Grande Cosmetics Hydraplump Liquid Lipstick in Red Delicious - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $25

This formula is so velvety! The pigment is great, it dries down to a matte (but non-drying finish), It's long lasting and wears down nicely. BUT! I am not digging the chemical smell.

Here it is swatched:

DP Hue Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse – FULL SIZE! Value $35

This is great! It lathers similar to a regular shampoo, and you use it instead of shampoo and conditioner to help clean your hair and remove product build up. (It’s color safe, too!) Normally when I try a non-shampoo + conditioner treatment, my hair looks a little off the next day, but not with this!

Kenra Platinum Luxe One Leave-In - 1 oz Value $5

This is a fine mist, with a light scent, and it can be used on dry or damp hair. It gave my hair a little extra shine and softness without weighing it down - I'm a fan.

LeChat Dare to Wear Nail Lacquer in La Princesse - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $6.95

This is a sheer light pink polish with a high-gloss finish. Here it is on:

Two coats, and it's still pretty sheer. Great for a nude nail look.

Kocostar Hair Therapy - Retail Value $8

(Subscriber will either receive this or Kocostar Long Hair Therapy)

This mask is designed to help nourish and repair damaged hair. You put on the cap post-shampoo, massage your hair for the formula in the cap to properly disperse, then take off after 15 minutes and rinse.

The formula in the cap wasn't evenly distributed, so I'm not sure if I got the full results, but it definitely made my hair softer. I didn't mind the scent either. (But I didn't love it enough to buy this in the future.)

Roloxin Lift Single Use Mask - Value $7.90

I've tried this before and the formula is pretty impressive. Each treatment lasts up to 24 hours and is designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. (This isn't a product that helps fight wrinkles over time - it's more like a Cinderella situation. All the magic goes away by midnight 🙂 )

Here's how to use it:

Start by washing your face and leaving it slightly damp. Activate the packet by massaging it for 10 seconds, then dispense the formula and apply an even layer to your face, avoiding the eye area. Wait seven to 10 minutes for the mask to dry to a white powder (you’ll feel a slight tightening sensation that means it’s working). Rinse it off with warm water and pat dry. Follow with moisturizer and your regular makeup routine.

And this box included a trio of sunscreens from MD Solar Sciences:

MD Solar Sciences Daily Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 30 - .25 oz Value $12.33

(I was surprised by the value of this sample - it's actually half the size of the full-size version.)

This formula goes on white but quickly blends to clear and absorbs almost instantly, too. (And no greasy finish!)

MD Solar Sciences Mineral Tinted Creme SPF 30 - .25 oz Value $4.71

This formula is tinted and can double as a light coverage BB cream, too. It also can be used before or after makeup. (The finish it gives skin is great for a primer.)

MD Solar Sciences Mineral Creme SPF 50 - .25 oz Value $4.41

And the last formula is similar to the first one, but with a higher SPF.

In general I really like the MD Solar brand - their sunscreens are ingredient-conscious and the formulas feel great on my skin. The samples are on the small side, but they should be good for a few uses each.

Nutrafol Coupon

This box also included a coupon to get your first month of Nutrafol supplements to help with hair growth. These retail for $88 a bottle, so it's a high-value coupon, but since it is a subscription, you still have to enter your credit card or Paypal info to redeem. (Hint - I recommend doing PayPal - you can easily cancel any subscription through PayPal without having to contact the subscription company.)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $109 (not counting the coupon since you have to enter payment info to use it.) I think that value is pretty good, but this wasn't my favorite box from New Beauty Test Tube. Aside from the lippie, I'll use everything, so the value is there for me - just no real exciting products I haven't sampled before.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Your next box may be May or July. Make sure to email [email protected] before you order to confirm which box will be your first shipment.

Seriously Underrated Box! I’ve tried them ALL. One of the few I kept.
The vitamin coupon worked seamlessly! In the March box. There was an issue initially, which they fixed ASAP. They are amazing for skin, hair and nails! The March box was worth it for the Nutrafol alone! Love the ACV.
The MAY box is AMAZING! About $270 in products! Always High-End products. Quality and quantity… this is our skin ladies, quality is paramount. It’s less than $20 a month if you break it up. Generally, mostly full-size products.

MAY BOX
Skinn Collagenesis Deep Wrinkle Protocol Youth Capsules – Full size ($129.00) – It has four weeks worth of single use capsules with hyaluronic acid and peptides!

Golden Door Cleansing Foam – Full size ($48.00)- It has oat extracts, and lavender.

Marajo Deep Treatment Butter – full size ($29.00) – I have long hair, so hair butters and masks are always welcome.

Cocofloss Single in Fresh Coconuts – full size ($8.00) – Coconut flavored floss

Grace & Stella Anti-wrinkle Energizing Eye Masks – 3 pack ($5.50) – We’ve all probably gotten these before, but who can’t use a few more good eye masks.

Laura Geller Easy Illuminating Stick – Full Size ($26.00) – Highlighter stick, yay!

SMD Saromae Snail Serum Concentrate – Good Size Deluxe Sample (13.99) – This is a brand I’ve never seen before and appears to be high quality.

Luxie Rose Gold eye brush – full size ($10.00) – we’ve all seen these brushes before. Two different ones (variant)

Derma-E scar gel – Deluxe sample ($5.00) – The star ingredients here are B5 and allicin. Excellent to mix with your moisturizer to sooth your skin.

Link didn’t give me 30% either…just takes me to a regular subscribe type of page showing total owed of $38.90. Could you please fix? Thank you very much

Missy

The link for 30% off is not working! I want to subscribe but I want the discount! When I use the link all it does is take me to the main subscribe page and when I hit subscribe it takes me to where u put in payment information and the cost breakdown and there’s NO discount

So sorry. I didn’t realize the promotion was over. I’ve removed it from this post.

Here is what I found on reddit.. does this match what anyone has received for May/June?

Golden Door Cleansing Foam – Full size ($48.00)- The info sheet states it has oat extracts, which is great for my skin. It also has lavender, though, which I happen to like, but I know isn’t great for all skin types.

Marajo Deep Treatment Butter – full size ($29.00) – I have long hair, so hair butters and masks are always welcome.

Skinn Collagenesis Deep Wrinkle Protocol Youth Capsules – Full size ($129.00) – Ooh, I am excited about this. It has four weeks worth of single use capsules with hyaluronic acid and peptides.

Cocofloss Single in Fresh Coconuts – full size ($8.00) – Coconut flavored floss

Grace & Stella Anti-wrinkle Energizing Eye Masks – 3 pack ($5.50) – I’ve gotten these fro boxes before and enjoyed them under my sheet masks, so I am pretty stoked to get another box.

Laura Geller Easy Illuminating Stick – Full Size ($26.00) – Highlighter stick, yay!

SMD Saromae Snail Serum Concentrate – Deluxe Sample (13.99) – Another one I am very excited about. I have been tinkering with snail products for a while and really like them. This is a brand I’ve never seen before and appears to be high quality.

Luxie Rose Gold eye brush – full size ($10.00) – we’ve all seen these brushes before. I really don’t need more brushes, but don’t mind them, either.

Derma-E scar gel – Deluxe sample ($5.00) – The star ingredients here are B5 and allicin.

That’s exactly what I got in my box yesterday. The color of the Laura Geller Easy Illuminating Stick is Gilded Honey. Very good box for me!

You don’t have to enter any payment info to get the Nutrafol. It just simple asks for your address so they can ship the bottle. The bottle itself is an $88 value.

I just entered the code and address and got the bottle in a week.

I was going to reply the same thing, as I had the same experience as you when I initially got my box a while ago and ordered the Nutrafol (I only had to enter my address… no payment info required), but out of curiosity I used the address on Nutrafol’s card pictured in the review, and the order form does look different… more like a regular checkout page now.

That’s odd. Maybe they had to do that because of scammers? Could be there was one universal code and someone shared it. That would make sense of why they are requiring payment info. I don’t know for sure just a theory.

Robyn

I didn’t need to enter my credit card info either, I don’t even recall getting a prompt 🤔

I skipped entering the payment info besides the coupon code for the Nutrafol and it worked. I was not about to subscribe for this supplement for $88 monthly, which I know was their intended trick with the voucher in lieu of putting the actual product in the Test Tube. It did give them my address and basic contact info which I’d have preferred not to, but I felt like it was a win over giving them billing info.

I believe you have to go to a page with a single purchase rather than the subscription. I too thought you had to enter cc info but after I looked around for a few minutes it worked. I also think you can order it until June maybe?? I like the product- it’s worth another try if you’re interested. But I’m definitely not going to keep buying for $88/month.

I just got my May box today! And I think it’s a much better box than March…at least for me. It’s got several full size product and the RV seems to be significantly higher than March’s.

I pretty much swapped or gave away everything from the March box. Oh well…you win some, you lose some. And May is a winner!
