GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box. They have the best packaging in the business, their products are usually a deluxe size or full size, and the value is usually good too.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FYI: GlossyBox sends out multiple variations of the box during some months. So, there may be some variation between what I review and what you receive.

The Subscription Box: GLOSSYBOX

The Cost: $21 a month (save more with 6-month or annual subscription)

DEAL: Check our GlossyBox Coupon List to get the most up-to-date coupon!

The Products: Deluxe and full-size beauty products.

Check out all of my GlossyBox reviews and the list of the best beauty and makeup subscription boxes!

Ships to: US and Canada

Each box comes with a fold-out card detailing the items included:

Now, on to the items!

Tree Hut Skincare Protecting Daily Moisturizer in Refining Rose - Value $14.99

(This is a variant item. Check out the spoilers to see what other items subscribers may receive.)

This is a lightweight sunscreen + moisturizer in one. It absorbed quickly and didn't add any shine or greasiness to my skin. I was expecting it to smell like roses, but it smells like sunscreen to me - and I'm one of those people who love the scent of sunscreen, so I'm happy!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil - 1 oz Retail Value $5.50

(All subscribers should receive this item.)

This is a beauty cult classic and for good reason. It's olive-oil-based, (bonus points if you love the scent of olive oil), it's fragrance-free and ingredient conscious, and it's super gentle. It removes makeup well, and when you add water, it forms a light, creamy lather. And you only need a few drops, so this sample size should last for a while!

Proenza Schouler Arizona Perfume - 5 ml Value $10

(All subscribers should receive this item.)

I don't like getting perfume sampler vials in subscription boxes but add just a few milliliters, but the perfume in a cute mini bottle and I'm in love! This floral scent has notes of Living Cactus Flower Accord and Creamy Orris Accord.

LaRitzy Shade Stix in Aloha - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $24

(This may be a variant item. Check out the spoilers to see what other items subscribers may receive.)

This is a bronzer stick that can easily be used for contouring - but a word of warning, this is heavily pigmented and not the easiest to blend out! If you start out with light strokes, you should be good!

The shade is a warm matte brown, with barely detectable flecks of sparkle. Here it is swatched:

John Masters Organics Evening Primrose Shampoo - 2 0z Retail Value $6.00

(All subscribers should receive this item.)

Glossybox has sent out John Masters Organics products before, but they get no complaints from me! This is a pricey, ingredient-conscious brand, and I love the formulas!

John Masters Organics Lavender + Avocado Conditioner - 2 oz Retail Value $9

(All subscribers should receive this item.)

Both formulas are lovely, but I especially liked the lavender scent of the conditioner. The shampoo was a standard shampoo for me, but the conditioner felt a little lighter than your typical conditioner formula.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $69.49. I think the value is good (not great), but I'm happy with all the items this month, so I'm OK with the value. The sizes (2 full-size items!) were great, and I the products are all a good match for me, too.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes!

DEAL: Check our GlossyBox Coupon List to get the most up-to-date coupon!

Value Breakdown: At $21 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Moisturizer: $4.53
  • Cleansing Oil: $1.66
  • Perfume: $3.02
  • Bronzer Stick: $7.25
  • Shampoo + Conditioner: $4.53

This box was like kinda lame. To each their own. The best part was the perfume, I loved it!

I am very disappointed. This is my first box and included was a bright pinkish nail polish. I had filled in my beauty profile and chose Natural/No Polish option in the Nail section. I never wear polish for personal and religious reasons.
It appears that Glossybox does not even refer to the Profile when compiling variations. I received variation #7. I will be cancelling my sub. but it is too late to cancel June.
Please excuse my complaining but this just isn’t right. Ipsy chose great matches for my June bag, which I have yet to receive. After finding out the spoilers I tweaked my Beauty Profile. It seems that Ipsy pays attention to it.

LOVE this box and my 1st glossybox. I’ve come from boxycharm and hated their products. too many palettes of weird dark unuseable colors and this box is like a breath of fresh air.

Got mine today and LOVE the perfume I wish we had a discount code for the full size! Me and my daughter had a makeup party tonight including the items! Precious memory, but she needs to work on her brow defining skills, I got blonde brow liner straight down my lid into my eye, ouch. Great box!!

Is there a reason my comments didn’t post?

If the cleanser is fragrance-free, why does it matter whether I like the scent of olive oil or not? I’m puzzled here. Thanks.

Cristina

I think they meant added fragrance free? It smells like the oil it is but no added fragrance.

I got two repeats: Perfect Formula pink gel coat and tarteist brow gel. I love the brow gel, but will never use the nail polish because it contains formaldehyde.

Overall a good box this month for me.

I hated this months’ box. The state I live in charges taxes as well, making this $23 for me. I would have loved to get the Tree hut sunscreen but they sent me something else. I can’t even remember what at this point because the box was so useless to me that is was put into the donate/ regift pile. I wish boxes in general would please stop sending out mini hotel shampoo and conditioners and counting them as part of the value or box items. It’s such a rip off!

I didn’t get the Tree hut either, and they didn’t subsitute anything either…….

Were you able to get ahold of customer service to discuss your missing item? My box was missing the perfume. It took me 2 convos with CS, but they did ship it out to me. Good luck. I know what a bummer that is!

Oooh… Good review… I’m ordering! Any coupons for this? Not finding one.

Oh my gosh… have you seen the Glossybox U.K. LE box that came out and is all about the Model Co. & Karl Lagerfeld collaboration? The box is so awesome & cool looking (it looks like a matte black box, and Lagerfeld’s profile is in shiny black). I think that is the first box I’ve seen that I would 100% purchase just for the box, and the products would be the bonus. ha!
