Each box from GlobeIn contains a pamphlet that talks more about the theme for the box and the items inside.

There's also a promo card in the box with a code I can use on the Globein site shop!

Just a heads up, there aren't prices listed in the booklet for the items, so I'm going off the prices given in this Globein spoilers post!

globein elephant planter

globein cultivate elephant shaped plant pot

Elephant Planter, Guatemala - Listed Value $30.00

How cute is this ceramic plant pot?! The bowl section is 4.5" tall and 3.5" wide, though the planter is about 6.25" tall from toe to trunk. It's got a nice weight to it. I love the quirky, unconventional shape. I feel like this would also make a fun catchall dish for keys, change, or other small odds and ends if I don't end up putting a plant in it.

globein cultivate metal watering can

globein cultivate watering can from the side

globein cultivate watering can from above

Watering Can, India - Listed Value $20.00

Keeping up with the gardening theme, there's a small metal watering can in the box, too. It's lightweight and just under 4.5" tall, so it'll work well with my small collection of indoor plants. I like that the terracotta color mimics that of the elephant planter.

globein cultivate plant hanger

globein cultivate teal plant hanger ring

globein cultivate fabric plant hanger

Macrame Planter Holder, India - Listed Value $15.00

I love the color of this fabric planter holder. It's made of an organza-like material with undulating shades of turquoise, ivory, and purple in it. I'm used to white macrame hangers, so I like that this one has a different vibe. It's about 30" long and is surprisingly sturdy. Because of the design, you can use this hanger with a bunch of different planter sizes and shapes, though we tested it out with this medium-sized pot from Horti!

globein cultivate floral basket

globein cultivate open basket

Palm Leaf Basket, Mexico - Listed Value $15.00

This style of basket is a staple in this subscription. I've amassed a really great collection of palm leaf baskets, and I LOVE them. They're so versatile and handy for stylishly stowing away everything from paper and pens to toiletries. This flower-patterned basket is about 6.5" tall with the lid on and about just as wide. The teal color is fun and fresh.

The Verdict: I liked the green, gardening theme of this month's box. I don't have the greenest thumb out there, but I've been working on bringing more plants into my life and home. So this box fits me well! As usual, Globein provided an assortment of unique items that not only felt special in a design sense but had the added value of being made by fair trade artisans. Usually, fair trade products are a bit more expensive than the equivalents you'd find at a chain home store or discount store. The average I paid for these items, based on the $50.00 cost of the box (price + shipping) is $12.50. That's honestly what I'd expect to pay for fair trade pieces like these, so I feel like the value is there!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! If you subscribe by today, the 15th, you can choose to get this box. Premium Box schedule from Globein:

1st - 5th: Customize your theme and choose add-ons!
10th: Last day to cancel or skip before getting this month's box (and add-ons).
15th: Last day to update your shipping address
18th - 21st: Your box starts to ship!

Coupon – Use coupon code MSAWELCOME to save $10.00 off any subscription

Value Breakdown: At $50.00 for this box ($40.00 + $10.00 shipping), each item has an average price of about $12.50. But I estimate that I got $80 worth of retail value (using Globein's values). Using those estimated numbers, the proportional cost of each item is:

  • Elephant planter - $18.75
  • Watering can - $12.50
  • Macrame planter - $9.38
  • Palm basket - $9.38

I really love your posts, and am getting addicted to subscription boxes! I may get one for my cat as well.

This looks like a great subscription. I had a question: when you choose your theme or box, does it just tell you the theme, or does it tell you what is in it as well?

Thanks!

Anisah

Let me correct this. I signed up for TWO boxes Sart of May. They never sent them and today I get an email that they are sold out and will send one of the artisan boxes in the gift shop instead and there is no phone number for customer service. When I signed up it said I would receive the MAY box. I am furious and told them to refund my money and cancel both subscriptions. They waited over two weeks to tell me they were out of stock. We will see if they refund. They offered to put credits towards next month’s box which is unacceptable. I don’t any to sub to a box that can’t even deliver the promised box.

I would happily buy this entire box if someone wants to part with it! I would pay generously, and pay for shipping too of course.

The introductory portion of GlobeIn posts is in need of updating — they no longer offer two monthly themes.

@Anna, thanks for a nice review. I can’t wait until I get my box. One comment/suggestion – At the top of your review, you indicate that MSA was sent the box for free for review purposes. However, later in the review, you indicate “I paid the following for each item…”, which contradicts your earlier statement. I think it is important that MSA be clear (and consistent) in disclosing who paid for the boxes they review. So perhaps in situations in which you personally have not paid for a box you could instead write something like “subscribers would have paid…” That would be much less confusing. Thanks for considering this.

Beth, I have noticed that on quite a few reviews for other boxes. It may be part of their original formatting and forget to remove it. I agree with you though it is misleading.

Hi Beth and Virginia! Thank you so much for that feedback – you’re definitely right. We certainly don’t want to mislead anyone with our wording! We’ll be moving forward with clearer language from here on in and will go back and amend some recent instances of that wording. I really appreciate you mentioning it! It helps us make sure we’re giving you the best information we can <3

Thanks for reading (and for your helpful insights!!!)!

I’m looking forward to putting a small airplant in that cute elephant!

I should really check out air plants – they seem like the plants that have the best chance of surviving my novice gardening skills, hehe 🙂

Thanks for reading, LB!
