CHC Vintage Accessories April 2018 Review
Mmmmm…. doughnuts!
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card and the handy styling tips that were included.
Green Blossom Russo Hat - Retail Value Unavailable
This straw summer hat was included in April’s CHC Vintage Accessories box. It is a fun and unique piece; I rarely see straw hats this color or shape. There are a few bends in the hat due to age and transport, but this hat is still in great shape! The color theme this month is Kelly Green and all the pieces pair rather well, but this hat could certainly be worn alone poolside with your favorite suit or with a pair of shorts, sandals, and your fave crop top for an extra summertime fun look! I couldn’t help but think of the show, Blossom, when I saw this hat. I paired it with a red and white striped boatneck top, denim bodycon overall dress from my last Trunk Club box, color block purse from this review, and also my new fave low heeled shoes (THESE ARE SO COMFY!). I was tempted to do a tap routine to the theme song, but then I remember I can’t dance for my life! It will make you go, “WHOOOOOOA!” Joey Russo style!
Dinosaur Plates Elastic Bracelet — Retail Value Unavailable
I couldn’t decide if the shape of the tiles on this bracelet were spikes or columns, and then I realized they reminded me of dinosaur skin plates! They piece together like a cool armour. This silver piece has some wear and tear, but it is stunning nonetheless. I love it because it is adjustable and it can be styled so many ways. Here I have it paired with the overalls from my last Trunk Club box. This bracelet adds a chic touch to a casual outfit, but would look great with a fancier ensemble as well!
Diamond Snake Necklace -Retail Value Unavailable
The pendant on this reminds me of an elongated diamond shape, coming to a pointy edge. The chain reminds me of a snake, so that is where the name of this piece for the review came from. The necklace has a lobster claw clasp and is adjustable, which is a big plus! I love that this piece is gold and silver because I am a weirdo and get a lot of anxiety pairing gold and silver pieces together, but having a piece that is both takes the edge off a bit! I styled this lovely piece with a dress I received in my last CHC Vintage box. This piece is rather versatile and will look fantastic styled with casual and formal outfits alike.
Angela Bauer Earrings - Retail Value Unavailable
These gold and green button earrings made me think of Angela from Who’s The Boss immediately! I know my mom had similar earrings in the 80s and 90s. Resin glitter and marble earrings were a popular trend back then, I know I had a collection from the DEB Shop back in the day! I love that this pair features a gorgeous emerald green glitter. You can pair them with your favorite power suit or with a slip dress and heels for a touch of glitz.
Leather Patchwork Bag — Retail Value Unavailable
As soon I saw this bag it gave me a flashback thinking of a head shop in my college’s neighborhood. They used to sell everything from movie posters, band shirts, incenses, body oils, trippy candles, and patchwork bags, skirts, and pants!. This bag is made of soft, genuine, leather and would be perfect for all your summer events from carnivals to music festivals!
Verdict: This month’s CHC Vintage Accessories box was a fun one! Some of the styles aren’t necessarily what I would select for myself, but I was excited to receive pieces to expand my wardrobe a bit! The selections were so cohesive and pair excellently together. I am always amazed by the unique pieces CHC finds for me! It is always such a wild surprise and this subscription box always feels like a care package from a friend!
