I am done with Sephora, I resubscribed two months ago and I received two boxes of old junk. I didn’t get either the MUF foundation or the drunk elephant, instead I got a Sephora moisturizer, a dried up buxom lip sample, a cracked it powder, Sephora purple liner I have received several times before and perfume. Everything looked old and the only thing I liked the lip gloss was dried out and unusable. My profile is filled out in full. I don’t expect a gold mine for $10 but I do expect $10 of items. Cancelled.

Hi, has anyone ever written their customer service about a damaged item? My IT cosmetics pressed powder arrived destroyed and spilled on the other items, I’m wondering if I should bother writing to see of they’ll send a replacement??

I got Box #356, not listed here. But it’s identical to Box#344 listed here except for the lip.
This box comes with Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss in SPL.

For $10, I’m very happy with it & can use everything in this bag. And it arrived 3 days early!

I received my box today and it is #351. The samples are very tiny, but there are a couple of products I’ve been wanting to try, so I’m happy with it. $29 is worth the suspense and grand opening- he he he.

This month was very disappointing. I know it’s only $10, but this one wasn’t even worth $5 in my opinion. Some people seem to get a really nice assortment. Mine always seems like they just threw the leftovers into a box and sent it to me one more month and then move on to something else. I would rather pay a little more and get something decent.

For the first 7 months of my subscription I didn’t even know there were other varieties then I found this site and for the last 6 months I’ve been mostly sad at what I’m getting compared to some lucky others.

I emailed to ask for my number, and they did the number and listed all items.

I am getting box 351 and I would love to get 344 most or 443. None of the foundation colors work for me, so I will just add any sample to my box for the women’s shelter.

I wish they would go back to less variation and the only real variations each month being focused on one thing, like skin type or concern (all the same type of product ie. a cleanser or mask), any base product with color with four shades, and have the rest of the items be generally universal like lip items that aren’t red. Things like more eye makeup items, a small tool, a nice blush or highlighter in a fairly universal color. The variations leave me feeling like I’m not getting a good deal or the same experience as other people.

I got 351 too and the Makeup Forever product is way too dark. Bummer. Those who received the Drunk Elephant made out a lot better than the rest of us. It’s still a fun $10 though.

My bag came today. Kind of underwhelming as the samples were so tiny. So be prepared

Multiple are one maybe two use items.
– Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For No-Filter Mattifying Primer & Complexion Perfector- This one may last a while. It’s a small sample but with primer a little goes a long way.
– Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss- Shade SPL.
– Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial- this is the biggest item in the bag, .5oz
– Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner- These are foil packets, so likely one time use items.
– Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick – shade, the red, this is the most red lipstick I have ever seen. I won’t be using it. Super small sample, but may last a couple weeks depending on how often you reapply.
– Philosophy Purity Mask- Another super small sample. This may be a one time use item.

I’m receiving the same box and am very disappointed. While I’m excited about the Drunk Elephant and the primer, I’m really upset about the lipstick and Philosophy mask. I received the exact same items (Sephora lipstick in The Red and Philosophy Purity mask) in my November box. The mask was fine, but I don’t wear red lipstick at all, so receiving 2 of the exact same one in less than 6 months is making me seriously consider canceling.

I know the perfume samples are a bonus but does anyone know if there is a way to opt out of them and always get the hair samples instead? I do not wear perfume and in fact most perfumes give me migraines.

To find your order number log in, go to my account, click on orders then recent orders, then click on the box that says review details. Go down just a little bit to where it says the price at $10, and to the left of that is your quantity number and your item #. The last 3 digits of your item # are what you are looking for. You’ve got to take things into your own hands here girls! You can do it!!! Be as powerful as you were created to be 😉

They wouldn’t let me view my box # this month. It killed the fun for me. I love watching for the spoilers to see what I’m getting. It makes it fun while you’re waiting for your boxes.

This is not working for a lot of people, including me. The section that normally shows the item number and the picture of the box is blank. Responding because, ya know, don’t like seeing entire groups of people treated like they are idiots. 🙂

Same for me. I can guess why. I am getting box 682 and it sucks and has at least 2 Sephora samples in it. I am not paying for this subscription to get Sephora samples..We aren’t getting any of the high end samples everyone else is. I had just resubscribing too. Big mistake. I realize I won’t be happy every month with every sample but every box should at least be very close with value and what samples are included in the boxes

It seems to be pretty common this month. I got an e-mail saying my box shipped, but the tracking information doesn’t indicate an actual ship or arrival date.

Contact Customer Service and they should be able to provide the item number.

I am getting box #351 (which I found out only after e-mailing customer service, the item # still doesn’t show up when I go to my order page). I may have been happy with this had I not seen what some of the other boxes are getting, but I have, and I’m disappointed. To see whether my disappointment is warranted, I decided to try to tally up the value of all the box variations revealed so far (apparently I have way too much time on my hands). I based my value estimates on the full size prices on Sephora and the sizes of the samples we’re getting (which I got either from peering really hard at the product shots on the reveal video, or by looking up the samples/comparable items on eBay, etc). So it turns out my box isn’t the cheapest of them, and also every box is certainly worth more than the $10 we pay…so all should be good right? BUT knowing that some subscribers got much better stuff for the same money somehow makes me feel cheated. The funny thing is, had everyone gotten the same box worth $30 (slightly less than the value of my box #351), I think I might be happy as a clam! I’ve come to the conclusion that, personally, I’d prefer either no variation (everyone gets the same box) OR everyone gets a box that has a similar overall value to others out there. And so, Sephora Play, it’s been fun, but I think it’s time for me to move on!

Thanks for calculating all of that out. So there’s actually another box, #682 (that I’m getting) and likely a few more that were not in the spoilers. This one has the Sephora Collection Instant Moisturizer, Dr. Brandt, IT Cosmetics Powder, Buxom Gloss, Sephora Collection Eye Pencil. The total is $38 which is certainly getting a lot of value for what we pay.

What’s frustrating is
1. It has none of the items promoted by Sephora as being in every box, the MUFE or UD gloss.
2. None of the cult/holy grail items or brands that some of the other boxes combinations have in them.

I wanted to put this out there to help others who may be considering subscribing and are on MSA to check out past boxes. There are some variations that are not posted here and your expectations may not completely align with the reality of what you end up getting.

I’m getting 682 also, which appears to be the worst variation this month. It has TWO Sephora brand items and NEITHER of the spoilers that were supposed to be either an Urban Decay lippie or the MUFE included in EVERY box. Some of the boxes had BOTH while my box doesn’t have either. I am normally not a huge fan of box variations, but that’s definitely not a deal breaker. What IS a deal breaker is the monetary value differences which stems from very poor product groupings for each box. Every single box should have at least one of the “hot” items (Sunday Riley, Drunk Elephant, etc.) that were advertised and used as bait for new subscribers. It goes without saying that guaranteed items should definitely be fulfilled. I think the Play box and Macy’s are on the chopping block. I will have most of the bases covered if I remain with Boxycharm for makeup, Beauty Fix for skincare, Allure for a variety and Ipsy (just because it’s fun). BTW, has Play decided not to send a “bonus” item which is usually a perfume? Oh, well….now all the #682 boxes know why their boxes were never spoiled. 😾😡

I got box 690 and am happy with it. I really did want a foundation sample though as I don’t have a matching foundation at all anymore or live close enough to go sample them in store. My ipsy didn’t have a foundation either :/

Wow. Great size on the DE peel. I got a tiny squeeze tube sample of that once that ended up having enough product for 5 uses. This should last a long time.
