Golden Tote April 2018 Review
Each tote comes with a packing slip that lists the price your 2 chosen items sell for in their boutique and the value for each of your secret items.
Elevated Basics Tee – Estimated Retail Value: $35
This is the first item I chose – I love good tees! This one is really comfortable and is made of a lighter material that’ll be great in Summer. The v-neckline is just the right cut for my preferences, too.
Lime N Chili Striped Ruffle Tee – Estimated Retail Value: $45
I really wasn’t sure how I felt about this top at first – I haven’t seen ruffles on the shoulders like that lately and I wasn’t sure how the white base and thin size of the stripes would work on my silhouette.
The looser drape of this top is really nice, though, and the fabric is stretchy, soft, and a nice thickness so I have no need to worry about my bra showing through the white. The ruffles grew on me, but I’m still not sure about the size of the stripes – I worry they do weird things with the eye and make me look larger/boxier than I am.
Lime N Chili Floral Sweatshirt – Estimated Retail Value: $40
This may be my favorite item in my tote this month! I love the colors and the floral print. It’s comfortable and is a relatively lightweight sweater so it’ll be great for some of those cooler Michigan days this season without being too hot.
Also, I love that the sleeves are long enough for me! I often have problems with sleeves being too short. So pretty!
Skies Are Blue Border Print Tank – Estimated Retail Value: $44
I LOVE printed tanks. I also really love the bright colors and the patterns of this one! Unfortunately, Skies Are Blue tanks tend to be cut so straight that it is just too tight at my hips, and snug at my chest. I want to love it but it just feels so uncomfortable on. I need my tanks a little more drapey!
Cross-Back Swing Dress in Yellow – Estimated Retail Value: $46
This dress came in yellow and blue, and the blue is definitely much more in my comfort zone, but I have no yellow in my wardrobe, so I wanted to try out this colorway. I’m glad I did! I love the longer length of the sleeves and the knit fabric is really comfortable and drapes well.
And here’s the back! I love the cute cross-back detail.
The Verdict: My April Golden Tote was pretty good – I’m sad that the printed tank doesn’t fit, and I’m not so sure on the shoulder ruffle top, but I love the floral sweatshirt and swing dress, and I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of the tee. The fabrics were great in my tote, too! I love that nothing is so thin as to require a cami to prevent bra sightings, and aside from the tank, I got a lot of stretchy knits, which are basically my wardrobe love language.
