Elevita March 2018 Review

Once again, everything arrived in this lovely cotton drawstring bag! Such a nice bonus!

This is the letter I received in my package this month, detailing the contents. I especially appreciate the detail it provides about the artisans who created this month's handicrafts. It gives it such a special, personal touch!

Gift Bags

These gift bags are beautiful! Elevita provided information about the artisan, but not what country she is from. It is a new artisan who is supporting a large family with her handwoven gift bags and other crafts. I think they are gorgeous! She makes these and other woven crafts from abaca fibers.

Wooden Puzzle, India

Nope, I never could figure out how to put it back together! I passed it off to my ten-year-old son who is busy working away at it now. How fun! The wood is so smooth and beautiful! This was hand-carved by an artisan in India. He is part of a nonprofit that helps craftsmen who suffer severe hardships.

Earrings, Philippines

These earrings are so gorgeous! I just love them! I think every Elevita box comes with a piece from this particular artisan, which is just fine by me. Her beadwork is brilliant! She is an artisan in the Philippines who uses her art to help support her family.

The Verdict: Elevita is awesome! I really appreciate everything they do to help global artisans, and I love feeling like I'm a part of that. This month's items were all great! I especially love the earrings! I can't often find values for the items Elevita sends, but I always feel like the value far outstrips the cost of the box. Thirty dollars for these lovely items is a steal!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the April box. Order by the 18th to get the current month's box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $30 with free shipping, which means that each of the 3 items in the box has an average cost of $10.

Haha! Yep, that’s exactly why I never took my egg apart. I was pretty concerned I’d never be able to put it back together. I wish it had a flat bottom to make it easier to display because it’s an artistically beautiful piece. And like @Kate said, Elevita is a non-profit organization run by volunteers, so I have no problem with the fact that this isn’t a value box. The funds go to artisans in developing countries and in return I receive items that I likely wouldn’t be able to easily get otherwise. I call it a win!

I love Elevita every month. The egg is a big enough size for display, and the wood and the hand carving are beautiful. There were actually 3 of the gold bags in mine, and my earrings were red and white. While the earrings weren’t my favorite, I love how beautiful the simple gold bags are. Elevita is run completely by volunteers so I’m happy to pay $30 a month to support the artisans,

Hmm, okay. I just went back to my egg and realize that it does have a small flat spot on the bottom. It took a few seconds but I was able to make it stand upright. Cool 🙂

Let us know how long it takes your son to put the puzzle back together.

Those earrings are gorgeous! Definitely my style. I love that this box supports independent artisans across the globe.

I love/hate wooden puzzles because it takes me forever to get them back together but once I do I feel so smart LOL!

I think it’s a bit pricy for what you get. I mean, 2 gift bags, a puzzle and cheap earrings? They may look nicer in person but online they didn’t look that spectacular. Maybe if another item was included the price point could be justified.
