Ace Camp 36-piece First Aid Kit – Retail value $4.95, Listed value $5.00

First up this month is this compact and lightweight first aid kit from Ace Camp. 36 pieces include 20 bandages and 10 cotton swabs amongst a few other items, so the number is accurate but feels a little misleading. The quality of the items is ok. The bandages aren’t super sticky but they will work in a pinch. It is a pretty good kit for the price, and the container leaves a little room for adding additional items like ibuprofen, nNeosporin etc.

Fishbone Knotless Rope Tie 2-pack with 10' of Paracord – Retail value $14.99, Listed value $15.00

Next is this set of Fishbones with spare paracord! I was gifted a Fishbone years ago and it is a regular item in my camping kit. These little stainless steel doodads allow you to quickly wrap cord rather than tying knots. It can be used as a cord tightener, which is what I normally use it for, and you can use the head/eye area as a quick-release. If you’re not super adept at tying knots, these guys will save you some headaches. If you’re great with knots but just looking to save a little time with tying/untying (especially long lengths of cord) these can help you too!

McNett Tactical Knife with Sheath – Retail value $29.95, Listed value $30.00

Finally this month we get this awesome knife from GearAid/McNett! This knife has a ton of features and would be a great addition to any camping kit. The sheath is lightweight and locks the blade into place easily. It can be attached to a belt or MOLLE system too. The knife itself is sharpened on both sides and has a serrated edge in addition to a cord cutter close to the hilt. One of my favorite features of the knife is that the handles can be easily removed, allowing you to clean the blade completely. This knife has a glass breaker at the butt end too, making it an ideal survival carry.

Verdict: Nomadik was great this month! I know I’ll get use out of every item, especially as I’ve been using Fishbones for years. They promise “up to $50 worth” of items in each box, but this month’s retail value comes out to $49.89 - close but the info card inflates the value just a tiny bit. That said, at the $32.95 asking price, I think the value is still there.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will start with the February box.

I just loved the knife and am surprised at the quality of it. I really wasn’t expecting it to be very good.

I’m throwing the knife into the camping gear but I wouldn’t carry it outside of the wilderness— looks like it could get me arrested.
