This box’s theme doesn’t come right out and say it, but I’m feeling some definite magical institution a la Hogwarts vibes here. Inside the box is a pretty card displaying the theme for the month, and the flip side has all of the social media deets for Fandom of the Month Club.

white cotton bag with magical supplies store front printed on front

All of this month’s goodies arrived in this cotton bag! It’s very similar to last month’s FotM bag, but this month’s illustration is of a magical supplies storefront. I’m really hoping to get to Salem for a vacation this year, so seeing the name of the shop made me smile.

Magical Supplies Magnet

Magical Supplies Magnet

This magnet displays all the makings of a very successful semester in magic! Complete with a quill, spell books, and wand, this fridge adornment adds a super-nice touch of whimsy to my kitchen.

I love the subtle nods to magical worlds in these items. This is clearly a take on Hogwarts Castle, done in a colorful stained glass style. The black setting and chain is a nice touch to make this piece stand out against any outfit.

Library Ring

Library Ring

A very clever witch once said, “When it doubt, go to the library,” and this ring makes that prospect extremely appealing! Including a wizard hat and snoozing feline, this ring has a comfortable, adjustable, brass-inspired band. I’m not sure it’s something I would wear, but it’s fairly sturdy, and I think a young witch or wizard would enjoy it very much.

Not one, but two pairs of earrings this month! I like that these could be worn on their own, like with a vintage dress and sweater, but then could take on a deeper meaning when paired with a fandom costume or even a small cosplay element. I could see an actual character from the Harry Potter books wearing either pair of these as a part of their everyday life!

I really appreciate the different materials represented in the box this month. This piece might not be completely my style, but I think the way it fastens is neat, and the words printed on it are all very much related to the overall theme.

Verdict: I’m a huuuuge wizarding fan, so this month’s Fandom of the Month Club items made me super-happy, but many of the items felt like they were more geared to young people. That being said, I loved how strong the theme was, and that all the items were thoroughly magic-related. I’m sure I’ll be able to find some young magic initiates that will really love these items without any trouble!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Bummer, but no. If you order today, your first box will be February’s! From Fandom of the Month Club:

We ship on or before the 25th of each month! Unless we have reach capacity for the month, you can subscribe until the 18th of the month. All subscriptions received after that date will signed up for the following month.

Coupon – Use code ADDICTION to get your first 3 months for $30 plus shipping!

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $13 + $4.25 shipping, which means that each of the 6 items in the box has an average cost of $2.88.
