January 2018 Vinyl Moon Volume 28 “Long Intuition” Review

This month’s delivery was a 10 track mixtape themed ‘Long Intuition’ – and featured the COOLEST gatefold design yet!

You’ll get a nice booklet that details information about the theme, the artist, and all 10 tracks – including more information about each artist. It’s a great companion while listening.

Each design, from the gatefold to the actual vinyl is exclusive and unique every single month – and typically from varying artists. This month featured incredible sketches, and the best gatefold I’ve seen.

There are little flaps on the top of the gatefold that allows it to completely unfold and open up.

Once open, you’ll have two sides of artwork.

It’s just stunning, and a smart way to add a little extra to the LP.

If you can’t get enough of the artwork like me, you’ll be happy to find this extra artwork pamphlet in the sleeve.

Again, stunning, and another awesome listening companion.

I haven’t even talked the music yet! It’s pressed on this marble vinyl.

This month’s selection is a bit more laid back than most. It also features a few more instrumental tracks – it was good for listening while going through all of this artwork. Expect tracks from mostly under-the-radar artists with this subscription – it’s a great way to get something unique while trying out some new music.

Verdict: After receiving Vinyl Moon for quite a few months now, I can honestly say that I’m always excited to crack these open! This month’s music selection felt like the perfect tone with the accompanying artwork, too. If you’re looking to discover new artists and get something unique – this is most definitely for you!
