The PMS Package January 2018 Review
Playtex Gentle Glide Super Tampons, 8 ct – Retail Value $3.74
While I have recently switched over to organic cotton tampons, when you’re in need, anything will do. Now that I am older I don’t usually need “super” tampons, regular always work out for me, but you never really know what will happen during that special time of the month.
Always Ultra Thin Regular Pads, 10 ct – Buy a 44 ct pack for $5.49
When I have my period, I always wear a tampon AND a panty liner because no one wants leaks. These are a little more than what I typically wear, even though they are the thinnest of the options available. I also will wear a thin pad at the end of my cycle, just in case. These will come in handy, for sure.
MenstruHeat Menstrual Cramp Relief Pad – Buy a 3 pack for $9.99
Sweet, sweet heat relief. Ever since I got my first period, my Mom always taught me to use a heating pad when the cramps were particularly painful. Of course, now that I am an adult, it’s less convenient to drag around an electric heating pad with me….to work. This handy little adhesive pad, however, is perfect to wear while you are doing just about anything. What a lifesaver!
Cougar Marine Collagen Eye Serum, 0.5 oz – Retail Value $21.60 USD (£15.99)
A brightening and lightening eye serum is always a necessity in my life regardless of whether or not I have my period. I am pretty picky about what I put on my skin because it’s sort of sensitive, though pretty durable too. This serum has Hyaluronic which plumps the under-eye area. Now that I am in my 30’s, this is a must-have.
Z Skin Acne Spot Treatment, 1 oz. – Retail Value $19.00
Remember when I said I was in my 30’s, well I am, but I also still get breakouts. Lucky me. This is especially true when I am about to get my period. During those few days, my skin looks incredible, but the week or 2 before….yikes. This is going to be my go-to during that special time to keep my skin from breaking out even more.
America’s Next Top Model Vanilla Lip Balm, 0.38 oz. – Estimated Value $3.99
Admittedly, this seems like a really random addition to this box, but I guess this would be the pampering part of this box. The scent is supposed to be vanilla, but it is pretty subtle. I am pretty picky about lip balm because 90% of them actually make your lips more dry in the long run. So far so good with this one, though.
Bath Fizzer, 100 g – Estimated Value $3.00
Is it just me or does it seem like every time someone talks about self-care these days, a bath bomb is included in the discussion? Don’t get me wrong, I do like them when I end up taking a bath which is admittedly pretty infrequently. This one was quite nice. Subtle sweet smell and made my skin feel very soft!
Moodibars, 10 ct 0.32 oz bars – Retail Value $6.50
Alright, so chocolate isn’t the first sweet treat I would grab, but it’s always fine in a pinch. However, oh man, these were so delicious. I happen to really love chocolate with a glass of red wine so after about 3 (at home) I dug into these chocolate squares and did not regret it. There is a mix of dark chocolate and milk chocolate bars, both are delicious.
Princess Choco Rocks, 3 oz. – Retail Value $3.00
These coated pieces of chocolate chunks are actually pretty good, though perhaps not something I would eat on the regular. The candy coating is really light and not necessarily flavored at all, or at least it didn’t seem like it to me. Also, this did seem like a weird addition to this box. I mean, “princess” choco rocks? Princess, really? The last thing I feel like when I am on my period is a princess….oh heck, I never feel like a princess. Wicked witch, perhaps.
Cocoa Amore Caramel Premium Cocoa, 1.25 oz. – Buy a 48 ct. pack for $29.02
Alright, well unfortunately when it comes to chocolate….especially hot chocolate I like to keep the flavor pretty classic. I don’t want peppermint, vanilla, or caramel with my hot chocolate. I think that the caramel makes this way too sweet for me, but if you are into caramel, this was very good.
Verdict: This was the first time I have ever tried The PMS Package but I can assure you this won’t be my last time. While I am pickier about the feminine products I use while on my period, I liked the variety of items in this box. The snacks were great, but I would have liked a little more variety in those….maybe something salty to go with the chocolate overload. The cost of the box is $34.99 and I received a total of ten items that included two feminine hygiene products, a heating pad, three snacks, and four items to pamper myself with.
