SinglesSwag January 2018 Review
Each box comes with an information card listing the items included in the box as well as an encouraging monthly quote.
Afterglow Luminizer, 15g/0.53oz. - Retail Value $22.00
This 80% water-based liquid illuminator intends to give me a soft glow on my cheekbones or brow bones. Its infused with aloe vera to hydrate my skin and prevent fine lines. I’m not much of a makeup person and rarely wear a full face of makeup. So when I went to squirt out the product to show the color, I may have dispensed too much, as you can tell above, when I spread the product over my hand to get the desired glow.
Vera Bradley Color Bright Coloring Book - Retail Value $10.00
This coloring book consists of 20 Vera Bradley designs on cardstock. The pages are easily detachable, with a satin bookmark and on the back of each page, there’s the name of the design and a quote. The experience was relaxing and soothing to my soul. I colored one page, and I’m working on another page. Adult coloring books are all the rage now, and have become popular over the years and are making their way into subscription boxes. I first saw a coloring book in my FabFitFun box last year. Plus, coloring allows for me to switch off my brain from my scattered thoughts and focus on one thing and be in the moment. The pocket size is great to take anywhere, where you may need a mindfulness break.
LaRitzy Nude Eye Shadow Collection - Retail Value $36.00
This palette of twelve nude shadows is hyper-pigmented and easy to blend. This palette is sure to be a win for most, but for me, it’s a miss. As I stated earlier, I’m not big on wearing makeup just mascara, lipstick/lipgloss, and BB cream or primer.
Belgian Waffle - Buy a box of 5 waffles for $4.99
This Belgian waffle was thick and doughy with a touch of sweetness. I ate the waffle straight from the package; its recommend to eat warm or top with syrup, ice-cream or yogurt. The waffle is made in Belgian with 100% fresh dough with pearl sugar on top. I'm not sure how crisp it would have been if I warmed up in the oven, it may have taken away from it being too doughy for me, overall it was delicious.
Carrot + Rose Hydrating Cream, 30ml/1.1 fl. oz - Retail Value $19.00
This cream is intended for my face and body. The cream has a floral scent. The hydrating cream is lightweight, creamy and silky; it wasn’t heavy or greasy.
Wishbone Necklace, SinglesSwag Exclusive - Retail Value $55.00
This silver wishbone necklace has an 18” long stainless steel cable chain, 2” extender and spring closure with JBD logo tag. The necklace came in a black velvet pouch perfect for gifting and a coupon for 15% off your entire purchase on Jewels By Durrani’s website. The wishbone is a symbol of luck, and the necklace can layer with other silver necklaces I own. The necklace is lovely, but I wouldn’t pay $55.00, it seems overpriced.
#Sketchit Coloring Pencils - Retail Value $8.96, Listed Value $14.00
These twelve colored pencils came in a variety of colors, and each colored pencil has a cool hashtag at the bottom of the pencil. The sayings include, “#toocoolforschool, #designerinthemaking, #trendsetter, #lineupformyautograph, #doodlewand, #pencilposer, #daydreamer,#instastar, #writerinthemaking, #stationerystud, .#whatevenisahashtag, and #professionalblogger. The colored pencils came sharpened and were easy to use; the tip just glided onto the paper and the colored pencils worked well in shading and darkening the varies shapes. It made for smooth strokes that brought out the rich, bright colors in the pencils.
Here's a colored page out of the coloring book!
Verdict: The January SinglesSwag box was another stellar month. I especially enjoyed coloring the Color Bright Coloring Book by Vera Bradley and snacking on the Belgian waffle. I can always use more lotion for my face and body, and I’ve come to count on SinglesSwag lovely jewelry selection. They have been stepping up their box curations and sending an assortment of lifestyle, beauty and fashion items which I like. SinglesSwag is still a favorite. Check out their Instagram page to get more encouraging quotes and sign up for our monthly spoilers! This month’s box has a value of about $151, not including the Belgian waffle.
