I’m glad I cancelled my sub before this month’s box. I find that the products are just too small to really get a feel for how well some of the products work. I’m also only interested in 2-3 items every month, and they almost never end up being in my box variation. I know it’s only $10, but in comparing it to the $11 more I spend for my Boxycharm sub (most of their items last me forever!), I have to say goodbye to the Play box 🙁

I canceled last month and I couldn’t be happier that I did after seeing these spoilers. I had the Play box for over a year and while I loved it at first, the samples just have gotten SO redundant and honestly it seems like they got smaller and smaller each shipment. I also got tired of receiving things in colors that didn’t even remotely match my Play Profile, and then getting a BS response from Sephora when I complained about it. It happened 3 times in a matter of 5 months. I’m sorry, this isn’t just some free sample included with an order as a courtesy, I am PAYING for this service, each sample should be something I can actually use. I don’t think it is good customer service to tell someone, “I’m sorry you have dark blonde hair and we sent you brow gel in the darkest shade for black hair, but we can’t customize every single box… there will be times this happens but we recommend you use it at home to test out the formula and see if you want to purchase a full size… you may also want to go into the store and make sure your Play profile is correct (even though you told us clearly in 3 separate emails it is accurate and updated)”… TOTALLY missing the point there Sephora…

I actually would love to get all of the samples this month. They did a good job this time i think. Except that perfume. I’ve already gotten it twice.

Didn’t the pep start eye cream get sent out last year in the PLay box. I know i’ve gotten it before.

I’ve been getting the Play box for about 7 months now and this will be my last one. I think subscription boxes are a nice idea but I’ve never received more than 1 item that I kept in a month. Makeup, skincare and fragrance is so personal that I’m getting tired of spending money on things I can get for free at the store.

If there are things that you don’t want, I’d probably be up for a trade :). I actually like a lot of these so hit me up if you want when the time comes :).

I cancelled several months ago and am not mad about it. I haven’t seen anything I would spend $10 on. I just cancelled Ipsy too after this month. I am tired of sample sizes. At first it was a good way for me to discover brands that work for me, but now I’d rather buy full sizes I actually want.

Boxycharm. You’ve got to try Boxycharm. It’s $21 a month and includes 5 FULL SIZED makeup items. It’s wonderful!
Jillian
Well that sucks I have box 028 and I already own the full size primerizer and the lancome lash primer. I was hoping for the abh lip gloss and the perfume cause it my favorite scent and I just ran out.

I’m excited with the emphasis on skincare this month and everything is something I would like to try, or have already tried and liked. I have really short hair so foil samples of hair products are great for me, but I can see how they wouldn’t be enough for people with long hair. I give the bags and anything I won’t use to my friend’s tween daughters or coworkers, and they’re always thrilled. The one thing that would make the Play box better for me is if we’d get the 50 bonus points for using the Play pass online.

You can use it online. You have to call or email customer service with your order number and the month of the play pass. Just explain that you are too far from a store. A really nice mod in the sephora groups always does this for me. This is also the only way you can redeem the expired passes that were in the one time play boxes that were available for purchase earlier

I agree 100% with all of that lol especially using the play pass online… I never get to the store and order a lot online, Even if you were able to use the pass instead of a promo code for another sample, like give you the choice

I’m interested to see how the foil samples go over once everyone has their box

Ooo so the video says we ALL get the Clinique Eye Cream. I’m looking forward to that…I like that there’s no fragrance as an extra, something different is always good

Hoping for the Perricone moisturizer or even the Fresh toner. I was excited for the Nars lipstick, but then I saw it’s the Orgasm shade. I’ve already tried that and it didn’t work on me.

How do you find out what you’re getting? This is my first play bag so I’m confused lol

You have to log in through the Sephora website (the app won’t show it) once you do click recent orders or orders and you should see the play order placed recently, mine says pending still so yours might too….and there will be a number that starts with a 20 I believe? Either way it’s the last 3 digits….mine is 093

Any 044’s going to call to find out what we’re getting??

I canceled after 3 months. Sephora is not for me. Samples are too small. I prefer fragrance over foil samples, foil samples are definitely too small for me. But it is a bonus.

I prefer the fragrance too. They actually last more than one use and I get to try new ones and find ones I actually like. The foil samples usually don’t have enough product inside to last even one use. Especially shampoo packets. I can’t wash my hair with a quarter size amount.

I contacted customer service and a nice lady shared my box 028 with me:
– Smashbox primerizer
– Lancome lash primer
– Clinique pep start eye cream (will be in all boxes)
– Glamglow cleanser (will be in all boxes)
– Alterna caviar shampoo and conditioner foils
– Fresh rose floral toner

Finally a Fresh item in my bag!
It’s an okay bag for me, not terribly exciting but I can use most of the things.
I think that I have 2 of the MUFE blush samples- they were a 100 point samples at one time.

Hello thank you for sharing 😀 do you know which perfume is going to be in our box? I have #028 as well 🙂

This time the bonus item apart from the 5 regulars is not just perfume. They have shampoo/conditioners, hair masks and just one perfume which is not in 028 box.
Beccah
Great, just what I didn’t want. Complete bust for me and my extremely dry skin!

Oooh, thanks for sharing! I am box 028, too. I’m excited about and will use everything this month!

Cool. The 3 skincare items and 2 makeup items this month with either a haircare or fragrance bonus item.

I’m pretty excited about most of the products. The only thing I don’t want is another clay mask. I have too many of those already. Everything else is great! So happy some eye cream is coming. I was just talking about this yesterday at Sephora. I’m in the prime demographic, and never get eye cream.

Not bad. I would like to try that Boscia peel. And I want the Anastasia lip gloss and the Becca.

I actually DON’T want the Boscia; if I get that and if anyone gets the Hygge mask, I’d trade!

I’ve been subscribed to this box for two years and I have finally decided to cancel. These aren’t bad products and if I were a new subscriber I would probably be excited. But I have received so many of these already. I really wish Sephora would branch out and send samples from some other brands. Until that time comes, I guess I’m out.

I would be happy with any and all of these! Awesome job Sephora! Box #085 this month btw

Same here! The perfume sample is one of the main reasons I subscribed.
Tori
I would much prefer the fragrance as well. I hate foil packets, theyre so annoying to use.

Heather
I completely disagree. Fragrance is such a personal thing, I find it odd they always send fragrance samples that most people never use. I’m thrilled to be getting a foil packet sample of something I MIGHT be able to use instead of a fragrance sample I KNOW I won’t even try.
Reply
Beccah
Well I always use the perfumes. I don’t use foil samples. So I would prefer perfume.
Mel
Totally agree. I don’t care for a lot of the fragrances. I’d much rather get a hair product in a foil pouch than yet another sample of Daisy.
Michelle
Glad I canceled my sub!

I was JUST about to cancel, because the last few months have not been good at all. But these look promising!
