Lip Monthly December 2017 Review

Each month, Lip Monthly sends their lip products in a little makeup bag. This month’s bag is made of a vinyl coated fabric with a cream and tan geometric pattern.

The included card looks like it could be used as a gift tag. It doesn’t include the typical info like description and price that is usually listed.

Hanalei Lip Treatment in Rose, 5ml - Retail Value $6.42

I’m a little surprised to see a sample size in here since Lip Monthly is all about full-size products. But, I really like this lip treatment. It is full of oils and butters to help smooth out dry lips and the light pink tint gives a hint of color.

IBY Beauty Lip Liner Pencil in Berry - Retail Value $6

This dark berry lip liner works well when paired with another complimenting lip color (like the one below) or on its own. The color is rich and water resistant making it a great matte option. My lips were a little dry when I swatched this above and the pencil doesn't offer much moisture so a good scrub would be beneficial.

Bellápierre Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lip Creme in Orchid - Retail Value $20

This is such a great dark berry shade for winter. Unfortunately, I could not get smooth coverage. I kept seeing streaky spots and applying another layer just took the color off underneath. The finish is comfortable and long lasting so maybe I’ll try a different color to see if it goes on more evenly.   

Manna Kadar Glo Illuminator - Retail Value $29

Here is the non-lip product for this month. It’s a subtle illuminator that can be used as a highlighter or mixed into moisturizer or foundation to add a glowing effect. The formula is like a lotion too so it works well for my dry skin.

Verdict: This month’s Lip Monthly was mostly good for me. With a value of $61.42, I like that I get to try new lip products for a cost of $12.95 with free shipping. I like the lip treatment but was a little disappointed to find it is a sample. The lip creme was the only product that wasn’t great for me. If you love lip products, this is a good low-cost way to try a few new ones each month.
