Kloverbox Natural Beauty Subscription Box January 2018 Review

kloverbox info card

Here's the info card for this month's box!

natural lotion

label on natural lotion

Timeless Organics Skincare COQ10 Age Defying Lotion, 4 oz. - Retail Value $19.99

This lotion includes COQ10, as well as antioxidants and other magical ingredients to help keep my skin feeling nourished and youthful. I loved the lightness of this lotion and the fact that it smells just slightly like fresh herbs. It absorbs quickly, too, without leaving any kind of icky residue or sticky feeling behind. I think I have a new favorite hand lotion! I can't wait to see how this impacts my skin over time.

overnight peel with natural ingredients

kloverbox overnight peel and box

Derma E Overnight Peel, 2 fl. oz. - Retail Value $18.75

I. Love. Exfoliating. As someone with combination skin that gets awfully dingy in the winter, there's nothing that feels quite as nice as ditching dull skin. Typically, I use gentle scrubs, but this cruelty-free, gluten-free, GMO-free, soy-free formula is a totally new, exciting potion to add to my beauty routine. The peel starts as a lightweight white cream that absorbs into the skin quickly and easily. Leave it on overnight, and your a.m. face wash will be all the more effective—my skin ended up feeling more nourished, as well as more refreshed than usual.

eye serum

eye serum rollerball

Entyze Cucumber Martini Eye Serum, 0.3 oz. - Retail Value $14.99

The first tip for this serum—store it in the fridge! As you roll it on, the cucumber-y oil will cool and calm puffy eye areas while the serum goes towards nourishing the delicate skin. The oil takes a moment to soak in, so it's the kind of product I'd probably pop on first thing in the morning (so it'll be absorbed by the time I'm ready for any makeup). I didn't notice any immediate difference in my skin, but it did feel nice to nourish that area in such a big way. (Seriously, though, the fridge thing? It makes this little rollerball feel like a spa treatment!)

pore cleansing brush

Radical Organic Radiance Pore Cleansing Brush - Retail Value $6.00

I don't always remember to consider brushes and tools when shopping for vegan, cruelty-free items. This brush checks both boxes, plus it has a unique, almost LEGO-like shape that helps you get deep into your pores. I've never used a cleanser with a brush before—it's a little different, but my skin feels extra polished afterward.

Verdict: I really liked this month's Kloverbox finds! It's great that these products are all full-size, and that they've all got a natural slant to them. Everything was really lightweight, too—the peel, the lotion, even the oil. They felt really luxurious to use. And I'm digging this little brush, too! It's super easy to clean and making my morning and evening face wash routine feel even more thorough.

To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: The box cost $25.00, but I estimate that I received $59.73 in value. That means I spent approximately the following on each item:

  • Lotion - $8.37
  • Peel - $7.85
  • Eye serum - $6.27
  • Brush - $2.51

I always think this box has neat stuff but I can’t ever fully commit to the price. Not that it’s horrible…it’s just not in my preferred ratio of box price to box value. I do think, however, once I get out of school and my income increases it would be one of the first beauty boxes I would add in to my current subscriptions.

I got on their Black Friday deal, which was a bonus box with a 3 month sub. I also found a 20% off coupon, so I only paid $57 for 4 boxes.

I’m always tempted by kloverbox but I can never quite commit. Even for an economic/natural/organic box, the value is a bit lower than others but the others are also $5-10 more expensive typically.

Thanks, Jann! I’m really liking everything so far. The peel, especially, has treated my skin very well 🙂 Thanks for reading!
