Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service that caters to plus size women between the sizes of 10-32. Gwynnie Bee allows you to select items you like and they are put in a virtual closet. The chosen items sent to you are at random, but you can select priority pieces to be sent to you first. I just started using the service a couple months ago and can say I always have a lot of fun with this box!

Gwynnie Bee December 2017 Review

This review is of the one item at a time for two items that I received December 5th through January 4th:

Sparkle Stripe V Neck dress by RACHEL Rachel Roy modeled

Sparkle Stripe V Neck dress by RACHEL Rachel Roy back modeled

Sparkle Stripe V Neck dress by RACHEL Rachel Roy side modeled

Sparkle Stripe V Neck dress by RACHEL Rachel Roy, Size 2x

This dress came at the perfect time for the holiday season! I love it because it has such an old Hollywood glamour meets Studio 54 vibe. I can envision sprawling out on a chaise lounge chair draped in pearls and furs or doing the “Hustle” in this dress paired with platform heels. The dress has ample stretch. The gold sparkle threaded stripes add a subtle, yet gorgeous detail. I also love the beautiful and flattering mesh diamond cut-outs at the waist. I wore this exact outfit, including the black booties, for a holiday shindig at my home. Pair it with a black moto jacket and gold hoops for a sassy night on the town outfit that is perfect for the colder weather months.

Dark Night Floral Blouson dress by INC International ConceptsSize 2x

I reviewed an INC International Concepts dress in my last review. This brand is becoming one of my favorites. Their pieces are so well made and I love the floral prints and sleeve details on both dresses I rented from Gwynnie Bee. The dress is made from a sheer fabric with a stretch underlay fabric. The waist has an elastic stitched cinching that defines and flatters the midsection. The three-tiered ruffle sleeves are adorable on this piece. This dress would look gorgeous with heels or with knee-high boots and patterned tights to add to the retro look of this stunning dress.

Verdict: I truly love Gwynnie Bee!  My sizing is all over the place as of late which makes me apprehensive to invest in new clothes. A service like Gwynnie Bee is fantastic for me because I can try out new trends and not worry about a piece no longer fitting me in a few months. I generally suggest this to friends on a tight budget looking for business casual clothing as well. The $49.99 is a reasonable price to be able to rent several outfits a month. Plus the $49.99 includes the cost to ship to you and to return. You can’t beat it!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Both pieces I reviewed are available to rent or purchase at Gwynnie Bee!

Value Breakdown: Gwynnie Bees costs range depending on your subscription and how many items you are sent at a time. I have the $49.99 one piece at a time. This includes free shipping and returns. I can get as many pieces as I like monthly, as long as I return each item first. I only got two items this month, but I could get several pieces sent to me in a month’s time if I return each piece after wearing promptly. I can’t see the displayed price for Rachel Roy dress, but the INC International Concepts dress was $62.50 if I choose to keep it. That is roughly $12.50 more than my subscription cost.

Love both dresses! If you decide to keep a dress, do you pay the difference between the cost of the subscription and the dress, or the whole price of the dress?

Hey Nicole! You pay for the dress separately and your subscription fee doesn’t apply to what you buy since your subscription is to rent the clothes. However, the gb clothing usually is discounted since it is worn by others. And with your points you can have it applied to what you buy. You get points for closeting pieces, returning multiple items in one bag, and buying items. It is pretty neat.

Nicole, I can only say omg! You usually look stunning in your reviews, but the photo of you in the inc dress is phenomenal. Spectacular colors and cut for you. You should definitely keep it!!!

I just cancelled my membership and that INC dress is giving me some regret. I have to say it was kind of a pain to cancel. I called and the employee kept trying to get me to keep my subscription (I get that’s her job but she had at least five rebuttals, and kind of insulted me at one point).

Amy

How is size 10 plus size?

Nicole Rieder

Hey there, Amy! It has been by runway fashion standards and in stores for some time, actually. I worked at Torrid about ten years ago and it was ten through twenty six. Their sizes have broadened further since then I believe.

Tanya

I saw that INC dress and thought it was a little too girly/overly ruffled for me, but I’m going to closet it now! It’s gorgeous! I love me some Gwynnie Bee for your reasons and because I’m not patient enough to either go try on things or keep returning them to find the right fit. Gwynnie Bee is a way for me to explore colors other than blue, black, and brown and find different style cuts that look good on me. Love it!

Tanya, I am so glad you are enjoying GB! It is one of my favorite subscription boxes I review.

Also, the INC brand is so fantastic. Check out this dress from them and the review I did for GB in November. Both dresses are absolutely stunning!
