Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service that caters to plus size women between the sizes of 10-32. Gwynnie Bee allows you to select items you like and they are put in a virtual closet. The chosen items sent to you are at random, but you can select priority pieces to be sent to you first. I just started using the service a couple months ago and can say I always have a lot of fun with this box!

Faux Leather Pleated Skirt in Black by Ellerman, Size 3x

As soon as I saw this skirt I had to closet it! I was unaware until I received it that the skirt had panels of jersey fabric along with the faux leather. It is not terribly noticeable in the Gwynnie Bee pictures on their site. The materials of the skirt offer ample stretch. I loved this skirt, but sadly it was a bit big on me. I definitely would need a 2x. I have lost some weight, so I am not sure if this brand’s sizing is larger or if it is just me. I am tempted to put this skirt in my closet again to see! Regardless of my sizing snafu, the skirt is precious and incredibly versatile! I styled mine with a red and pink flowered top with a baby pink beret and red shoes. I could see this looking fantastic with a sexy see-through detail top and velvet platform mary jane heels or worn more casually with a boat neck striped top, denim shirt, black tights, and booties. The options are endless with this skirt!

Paisley Pleated Swing Dress by INC International Concepts, Size 3x

I have fallen hook line and sinker for this retro bell sleeve trend. This dress caught my eye not only because of the sleeves, but I love the vivid blue with orange and red flowers. The color contrast gives it such an incredible pop! I also love the pleating detail on this dress. It is absolutely stunning. FYI: I performed my Stevie Nicks twirl test in this one too and it passed with flying colors. My photographer friend, Michele, and I forgot to document the twirl, but trust me it was quite the Stevie twirl. I styled this dress with my favorite double buckle western belt, patterned tights, and above the knee black velvet boots from Shoe Dazzle (review coming soon!). This would also pair fantastically with camel and brown accessories. I could see a vintage leather vest being paired with this perfectly. The fabric is light and airy enough that it can translate to warmer weather months. Simply put on some strappy heels and a floppy hat and you are ready for any beach party or wedding!

Verdict: My love affair with Gwynnie Bee continues. I love that Gwynnie Bee is a rental service and I am able to select my own pieces. Being able to actually wear these items rather than simply try them on makes this an indispensable service. It is fantastic for people in between sizes, in need of business casual pieces for a new job, or for those that simply want to test out trends. $49 a month to rent several outfits rather than pay the same for just one item to keep that will collect dust in your closet is not too shabby!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Both pieces I reviewed are available to rent or purchase at Gwynnie Bee!

Value Breakdown: Gwynnie Bee’s cost range is dependent on your subscription and how many items you are sent at a time. I have the $49.99 one piece at a time. This includes free shipping and returns. I can get as many pieces as I like monthly, as long as I return each item first. I only got two items this month, but I could get several pieces sent to me in a month’s time if I return each piece after wearing promptly. I can’t see the displayed price for the Ellerman Skirt, but the dress was $88.50 if I choose to keep it. That is nearly $40 more dollars than my subscription cost.

I wish they did some kind of Black Friday special for additional items.

I agree, Tanya. Discounts at their marketplace or even discount if you go from like 1-2 items per month package for example.

Awwwwwe shucks, thanks, TheOtherAmy! It may be in part the lighting and my photographer, Michele’s, doing. We took pictures for part of this review and my upcoming Dia & Co review at a dead mall here. It was super fun! I was feeling rather sassy that day, so maybe it shows? But thank you again! :o)

Hold the phone lady! I know this is a clothing review but are we completely going to ignore the fact that you look stunning in the second set of pictures? You always look adorable but you look like a movie star in the second set. Were you at a holiday party or something? Something looks different about you. I can’t even place what it is you just look more sultry than usual.
