Art Snacks December 2017 Review
This is the information card that came in the package. It lists each item in the box with suggestions on how to use them. My husband is an artist, and he was completely excited to play with all these new toys! An Art Snacks sticker and candy were also included.
Grumbacher Mixed Media Paper Sample Pad - Bonus Item!
This is the second month in a row we have received a tiny pad of paper, but I think it makes for a fun challenge! This month's paper is very sturdy, and while there are only four pages, it gives you a good idea of whether you might want to buy this type of paper in the future. It measures about 1.5" x 4".
Bruynzeel Expression Colored Pencils Set - Buy a set of 12 for $14.95 (found here for $8.99)
My husband always seems to walk away from Art Snacks with a bigger art supply wish list, and this month is no exception. He liked these pencils so much, he wants a bigger set! He was impressed with the intensity of the hues and the great coverage you don't always find with colored pencils.
Caran d'Ache Metallic Gold Fibralo Marker - Retail Value $2.70
My husband liked this marker, but I think he preferred the color and coverage of the metallic markers from last month's box. It worked great, though!
KRINK K-32 Acrylic Paint Marker - Retail Value $11
This marker, on the other hand, was truly impressive to my husband. Neither of could believe how easily and well an acrylic marker spread! Thinly enough to be a marker, but not clumpy. Very cool!
Pentel Slicci Gel Pen, 0.25 mm - Retail Value $3.15
My husband has used these gel pens before, and he is always happy to have more. They are so bright!
Art Snacks is not a project box like we sometimes review with instructions and everything, but my husband always likes to do a sample drawing to show what can be done with the materials provided. Look at this awesome holiday picture he drew for us! It's perfect for a holiday bookmarker. He's so handy with drawing tools. This also qualifies as an #artsnackschallenge, which is Art Snacks' monthly challenge to create something using only the materials provided plus paper.
Verdict: Art Snacks is always so much fun! We get to try new fine arts / drawing supplies and tools, and I really think my husband enjoys the Art Snacks Challenge! This month's value about breaks even with the cost of the box, which is actually good for an art supply box, so I'm happy.
