Pet Treater November 2017 Booklet Front

Pet Treater November 2017 Booklet Back

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get some pictures of dogs so that’s always fun.

Pet Treater November 2017 Coupons

There was also a coupon for a box item and a gift voucher for Naked Wines.

Pet Treater November 2017 Referral

There was also a subscription referral card to pass along to a friend or family member with a dog, along with some treats.

Pet Treater November 2017 Bear Crunch

Charlee Bear Bear Crunch in Bacon & Blueberry (0.5 oz) – Estimated Value $0.28

These are small, hard, crunchy treats. They are a good size for training. The starches here are peas and chickpeas and they actually don’t have any chicken in them, so they would be good for dogs with various food sensitivities.

Pet Treater November 2017 Beer

Beer Paws Beer Biscuits (2 count) – Estimated Value $1.50?

This is a sample of a product available on the linked website, so I’ve estimated the price based on the price of the linked item. These are made from spent brewer’s grains and contain no hops (since hops are toxic to dogs). This company is located in Kansas City and they partner with lots of small, craft breweries.

Pet Treater November 2017 Cookie

Emmy’s Gourmet Canine Creations Turkey Cookie – Estimated Value $1.35

Most months, you will get a treat from Emmy’s Gourmet Canine Creations. This time it is seasonal and other times it will match the box theme. I think it is fun that they are partnering with a small company, and because of the cookie themes, you know you are getting fresh products.

Pet Treater November 2017 Kerchief

Seasonal Kerchief – Retail Value $3?

Sometimes you will get a seasonal kerchief. Lately, I think they have been printing their own. I couldn’t get a good picture of Nyx in this because of the nature of the design – the edges of the diamond-shaped graphic got obscured by wrinkles. This is printed on very inexpensive, not-very-soft material.

Noah’s Bark in Bodacious Beef (0.31 oz) – Estimated Value $0.29

Noah’s Bark in Cha-Cha Chicken (0.29 oz) – Estimated Value $0.27

Noah’s Bark in Peanutty Perfection (0.36 oz) – Estimated Value $0.33

These are hard, bone-shaped dog biscuits. They are free of wheat, corn, soy, added sugars, animal by-products, and artificial colors and flavors. The company donates a portion of profits to local animal rescues, too. These do have grain-based ingredients (rice, barley, oats) so I will be passing them on to a neighbor’s dog to enjoy.

Pet Treater November 2017 Puffsters

Loving Pets Puffsters Chips in Apple and Chicken (4 oz) – Retail Value $6.99 (found on sale here for $4.99)

These are free of soy, corn, and glycerin, and they are made in the USA. They are super lightweight, air-puffed, and low in calories. They are a bit on the large side, which is fine for a large-breed dog. I am familiar with this brand from cat subscription boxes and they do generally tend to make minimally-processed treats with short ingredients lists, which is nice.

Pet Treater November 2017 Rabbit

Bow Wow Pet Natural Fluffies (rabbit with rope) – Retail Value $10?

These are hard to find online but I did see an expired Groupon listing with a 3-pack for $29.99, so that’s where I got the value from. This is a stuffing-free toy with a rope on the end, meant for tugging (which is Nyx’s favorite activity of all time). Nyx enjoyed tugging on this with my husband holding the other end, though she did want to chew on the rope some, too.

Pet Treater November 2017 Sausage

Loving Pets Totally Grainless Sausage Bites (6 oz) – Retail Value $4.99

These are grain free and made in the USA. These come in several flavors but we received chicken and cranberry, which is great just in time for Thanksgiving. These are advertised as being appropriate for dogs of all sizes.

Pet Treater November 2017 Softball

Pet Treater November 2017 Nyx

Howard Pet Products Vintage Flat Softball (large) – Retail Value $13.59

I’m not sure what the coating on this is made from, but it kind of looks like old leather (maybe a bit too soft to actually *be* old leather, though). Nyx thought this was pretty awesome. It was size-appropriate and easy for her to grip in her mouth.

Pet Treater November 2017 Towelettes

Amigo Cleansing Towels (8 x 8 inches, 2 packs of 7 each) – Retail Value $7.99?

These used to be available at Walmart but not anymore, so the value is an estimate. I can’t really give an animal a complete bath with these, but they work well enough for touch-ups. They are just large-ish wipes with a little bit of a scent to help eliminate odors. They have vitamin E and aloe so they are a bit moisturizing and soothing, as well.

Pet Treater November 2017 Tea

Crafters & Co. Happy Cup (berry rooibos herbal, 12 sachets) – Retail Value $12.95

This is a berry rooibos tea. I am a fan of drinking hot, herbal teas before bed and this one reminds me just a little bit of summertime (good, when it’s starting to get cold out). I should note this is probably a bit old, as it expires in January of 2018 and the tin was a little dented, though the company still makes this flavor if you end up liking it.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $63.53 for the November Pet Treater dog subscription box. That is well above the month-to-month cost of the box and also considerably above the average value of the box (granted, I had to estimate some of the values). This was a very treat-heavy month, so it wasn’t the best for Nyx, but she is an unusual case when it comes to dog food and treats so I won’t hold that against Pet Treater. There was a lot of fun, seasonal stuff here, and the toys were both huge hits.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this box was still available!

Coupon – For a limited time, use coupon code BLACKDOG to get your first Pet Treater dog box for only $10!

Value Breakdown: At $24.95 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item: 63.53

I got the duck toy in my first box and my 6lb pom ripped it open while playing:/ this is the first toy he’s ever ripped so I am a little disappointed in the quality…not keeping this subscription but it was worth the “12 bucks for the fist box” as he enjoyed the soft treats included in it<3

For some reason I have gotten this box, the last 2 months, instead of my mystery dog box. Not complaining because we get more things in this one but I could swaddle Bam Bam in the bandanas.

The dog cookies are always a hit. Unfortunately the toys are too big, again, Bamy weighs 8lbs.
