locket necklace

Vintage Brass-Look Locket Necklace

My immediate reaction was that this necklace isn't my style, but it reminds me of something I'd find for maybe a $10 or $15 price tag at a store at the mall. I do, however, like it's positive vibes.

At the last link setting, the locket hangs 10.5 inches down and the chain is a total of about 21.5 inches long. The locket is a good size at 1.5 inches tall and 1 inch wide.

The locket has a very vintage brass feel to it and the chain matches. Around the oval's edge, there is a scalloped pattern that makes it look like an old mirror or picture frame. The center features a muted watercolor scene with the words "Leap Fearlessly" and a small bird drawn above it.

Once you open it, you'll see there is space to put two photos of your beloved(s). It comes with an insert with the jewelry maker's name: Kelly Rae Roberts, which you can use as a template to cut your photos.

The last thing included is a small cotton bag with a really cute grey and white tree print on it, so that you can regift if the item isn't your style.

Verdict: Monthly Jewelry Tree is a good way to dip your toe into the jewelry subscription world because of its accessible price of $5.49. You'll be surprised each month with the piece of jewelry you receive, so you may find something new you would never have chosen for yourself. I struck out this time, but there is always next month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. This subscription is totally random so there is no guarantee what you will receive each month.

I actually like this necklace a LOT, and saved the pics (thanks, Marne!). Maybe I’ll get lucky and find one to swap for. I also got a pendant necklace, but I don’t care for it and I don’t think any of my friends and family would either, but maybe another swapper will.

Haha, ok, this is more what I expected from this sub (compared to the earrings from last month’s review).

I signed up to try it for free when MSA posted about the deal, so I’m curious to see what I’ll get.
